The Starlight Guild Side Stories (Private)
Duke was wandering around the town of Starlight.
Duke sighed wandering around as it felt like it was going to rain a bit, and unfortunately for him he kind of got lost on the way back home so he had no clue where he was, getting soaked by the rain and even in tears a bit still unsure about everything that had happen recently
After a bit of sitting by himself, Duke would feel the rain suddenly diminish, a shadow falling over him. Looking up he'd see the Salazzle saleswoman of the sparkle milk, dragging a wagon covered in a tarp behind her. She was wearing that poofy princess dress Duke saw her in earlier, and she was holding an umbrella that was currently sheltering both of them. "You should get inside." She warned. "You don't want to be in a rain-soaked diaper."
He was silent before he said, “I-I don’t remeber where Home was... or even what home is anymore....” His eyes began to water not knowing what to say now.
"Mmm, you're not from Starlight, are you?" She asked, tilting her head. "Is it alright if I sat here?"
“.... Sure....” He was shivering slightly from the cold rain that poured down on him.
She looked over at Duke, concerned, but didn't say anything about it yet. "It's strange, isn't it? This...place. It's like a whole other world, you didn't even know about, before."
“.....” He was silent still but just gave small nod as trying to wrap his head around it more made him cry.
"I know how you felt." The rain started to come down pretty hard, though thankfully the umbrella kept them both dry. "My mom moved here to live with my dad when I was eight. It was...startling, to say the least. I mean the other kids were nice, but I...never really fit in. I was never one of them. In many ways, I still don't think I am. Now Starlight shouldn't change how it is for my sake, but I made my home, here. I carved out my niche within its walls. There are many like it, but selling obscenely overpriced milk from Arceus-knows-where from a bunch of supremely infantile idiots who insist that pokemon will buy it for $1,000,000, is mine.
But...enough about me. You're having a hard time fitting in too, aren't you?" |
“.... Yeah... but you kind of had it easier than me... Everyone seems to just reject and make fun of me for trying to do my best or trying to reach my goals... I even asked someone out and they flat out rejected me without giving me a change....” He looks down at the ground. “I don’t even remeber where I came from before the Ancient ruins... Like I was just lest there to die....”
