D&D 5E: Helga's Heroics (private w/ Anynomus101)
 

Helga Hemmingsdottir is a powerful and beautiful shield-maiden... tall and muscular for a young woman, skilled with sword & axe and possessing an unshakable faith in the ancient gods of the north. She wears her long blonde hair in a single braid down her back, and her blue eyes sparkle like lightning from Thor's hammer.

Armed with longsword and handaxe, armored in full chainmail with spangled helm and a round shield emblazoned with the all-knowing eye of Odin, she sets out to explore a dungeon in the hills to east. The talk of the local mead hall has described some strange and ominous goings on...

As Helga explores the hills, she eventually finds the entrance to a dungeon, an old one if the rust and decay on the door is anything to go by. The door is slightly ajar, allowing her to enter.

Drawing her sword, Helga nudges what's left of the door out of her way with her shield and proceeds into the depths.

The first room is quite empty, though you can see a door that looks like it is in better shape ahead of you. (Make a perception check.)

(d20 roll = 3)

Helga stares across the room, seeing... well, another door.

(Are you adding your stat modifiers to your rolls?)
Helga sees nothing unusual, just another door to go through.

(Last roll was 3 unmodified, or 4 w/ WIS, if that makes any difference.)

Sword & shield at the ready, Helga kicks open the 2nd door.

(I'm playing her as a bit of headstrong tank, which hopefully won't completely bite her in the soon-to-be-diapered arse.)

(It doesn't. In the future though, can you include her total roll? That way I don't have to ask what her modifier is every time. As for the headstrong tank part, we'll find out.)
As the door is kicked open, there is a click as a trap activates and darts fire from the wall. (Make a dexterity saving throw.)

Cursing, Helga ducks and raises her shield, bracing herself.

The darts barley miss Helga, and embed themselves into the wall. The next room bizarrely enough appears to a large bedroom. There are a few beds, a couple wardrobes, and some cabinets. It strangely isn't dusty. There are many doors leading out of the room, but only the left most seems unlocked. You can go through it or search the room.
