Neon Zoe Shinji Ikari (Private with Pyrogue)
 

Its August 19th 5:58 PM Japanese Standard Time in Tokyo III. Another angel was narrowly defeated and the population can rest easy for now. However, the battle was close. Way too close and some the city's saviors, the Eva pilots, are making no secret of that. Specifically Shinji Ikari who is sitting in the cockpit as the fluids are drained with his head in his hands crying. He came close to another near death experience and it is really weighing in on him mentally and emotionally. The cockpit is opened and people around can see the crying boy sitting there not coming of his own will. There's not much will power he has left.

Misato Katsuragi, one of the heads of NERV and caretaker of Shinji, was in charge of managing the EVAs. Her duties included guidance during battles, maintenance, and though not officially in her contract she tried to maintain the mental welfare of the pilots. She headed down to the docking area after she was alerted that Shinji wouldn't leave his pod. "Shinji-kun, come on, we need to leave" she said sternly as she peeked into his cockpit

Shinji didn't respond he just stayed in there wallowing in fear and sorrow. The other two pilots got out just fine. Well as fine as they can and headed off to shower and get their normal clothes on.

Misato sighed and sent the others off so she could put on a nurturing act for Shinji. If her coworkers saw her doing this she would likely be belittled behind her back. "Shinji, please come out of there, you can go back to the apartment and I'll make sure Asuka doesn't bug you" she bargained

He slowly opens up and looks up at her with eyes pleading for love and comfort. He sniffles and wipes his eyes and slowly gets out of the cockpit and came down.

She softened her gaze and offered him her hand. "Let's go home" ahe said with a soft smile

He nodded taking her hand into both of his looking up with shaking eyes. They have so much sorrow. He needs someone to take the paon away. He believes Misato can do that for him. He leans on her arm as she takes him to go get changed out.

Misato sighed as the boy leaned on her arm. She brought him to the changing room and sent him.inside so he could shower and get his normal clothes back on. While he did so he went out to find Ritsuko. "Hey Rits, I need to talk to you about something" she said

Nerv's Chief Scientist Ritsuko Akagi spins around in her chair and looks up at her friend. "What is it that you need Misato" she asks expecting it to be something silly or mundane. In the changing room Shinji gets out of his gear and goes in the shower and sits in there as the water runs thinking about that last battle

"Don't tell anyone this, but I need a way to keep Shinji stable. He's becoming more and.more distant, and he might.do something drastic if it goes on any longer" she said
