In retaliation for not being invited to the holiday celebrating the birth of Princess Aurora, the evil fairy Maleficient had cursed the young princess, dooming her to die on her sixteenth birthday. But the three good fairies, Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather would not let their friend King Stefan's only child die. Not without a fight.

Thus the proposal came of providing her the out of true love's kiss, and the decision to raise her away from the castle, to try and ensure her safety.

King Stefan and his wife Queen Leah were reluctant to part with their daughter so soon after her birth, but it was the only way they could keep her safe. "Best of luck go with you all," they bade the fairies.

They nodded and made their way with her into the night.

After many miles of wandering in silence, they came to an old cottage which had long been abandoned. "Looks like a bit of a fixer-upper," Merryweather noted.

"I think we'll do just fine here," Flora said.

"Let us hope so, my dears," Fauna told her sisters. "We'll have to keep the princess safe, hale, and happy all at once out here."

Thankfully, it was fairly smooth process to get it done. Aurora began crying when they were done.

"Shhh, it's alright my dear," Flora told her softly, picking her up and cradling her.

She began to quiet a little as she was then felt.
