Hatchling Hiccup (Private for Starynight)
 

Hiccup hummed a little tune as he sat on a rock, watching Toothless eat the pile of fish he’d brought the dragon today. The scratching of pencil and paper filled the air as he sketched the scene in his notebook. It brought a smile to the Viking’s face.

“So uh.....what kind of fish is your favorite?” He hesitantly asked, once the dragon was done with eating her fill.

Selena, or Toothless as Hiccup called her, brought Hiccup a salmon, one that she left for the human, and left it at his feet. The dragon then coo'ed and nuzzled Hiccups face lovingly. She has grown fond of this human, but he's always seemed longing for something. So, she would take up a motherly role, as the boy hasn't mentioned his mother yet in any of their meetings.

Hiccup chuckled and returned the nuzzle, giving the dragon some gentle scratches under the chin. He had no idea what the dragon had planned just yet. “Salmon huh? I’ll keep that in mind in my next fish run.” He got up, wanting to look for some firewood so he could cook the salmon Toothless had given him.

Selena purred at the chin scratches. Before Hiccup went to go and leave to find firewood, Selena pulled the small boy underneath her and began to groom him, like a lioness would for her cub. She began to think about how cute Hiccup will be in padding.

Hiccup chuckled and squirmed from all the licks, trying to wriggle his way out from under the dragon. “T-Toothless, I need to go make a fire so I can cook this salmon. Ok bud?” He gave more scritches to the dragon’s belly.

Selena coo'ed sadly as she watched Hiccup, no, her hatchling walk off. She really wanted to talk to him, and take care of him like he had been taking care of her when she was healing.

Hiccup quickly returned with a bundle of sticks, setting them up in a pile. “Mind lighting the fire?” He asked, spearing the salmon on another stick to cook.

Selena nodded before shooting a small plasma blast into the fire, lighting it instantly. The dragon then walked over and sat behind Hiccup, before cooing at the cute young boy.

Hiccup smiled and leaned back into the dragon as he cooked the salmon over the campfire, using his free hand to scratch her chin some more.

Selena coo'ed at the chin scratches before taking a deep breath in and out. 'I think... it's time I show him.' She thought to her self as she then got up and walked back to the cove.
