A Ray of Hope - a Mommie Dearest RP (private)
 

A wise man once said "Never meet your heroes," as doing so will almost certainly lead to disappointment. That is especially true in the case of Hollywood celebrities, and chief among them was one Joan Crawford. While she may have been a splendid actress, her personality left much to be desired. None knew that better than her adoptive daughter, Christina.

Unsung in the story, much of which became known to the public by Christina's volition, was the work that Joan's staff did to be the actual caretakers from the moment Christina was brought to Joan's home as an infant.

Joan may have doted on her daughter at first, but as she became progressively more focused on her work, her mood at home soured, as well. Her staff had noticed her change in behavior, but there was little they could do to protest. All they could was protect their younger mistress any way they could.

Right now, that essentially often revolved around their focus to do the actual physical care, as in feeding, bathing and diapering. Right now, the baby girl was laying in her crib, waiting for her quasi-governesses.

Mamacita made her way over to the crib, smiling down at her sweetly. "Good morning, dearest."

She looked up as she was gently dandled by her.

"Somebody's quite wet," Mamacita observed, discovering the condition of Christina's diaper.

Christina gurgled as if to comment in agreement.

Mamacita carried her over to the changing table and laid her down, undoing her drenched padding.

Christina fortunately, at least at this moment, seemed a happy and wide-eyed child that did not know of the turmoil in the house.
