Atlantis, The empire of legend, the lost kingdom, the ancient metropolis, these titles are all very grand and all true descriptions of the lost empire of Atlantis. But the reality was all together different, many centuries ago, Atlantis stood as one of many city states of the ancient world alongside Egypt, and the Greek City-States. As time progressed though, the Atlanteans began to experiment with crystals found washed up on their beaches, they began to be able to grow them, and they found those same crystals had strange properties. These crystals could be applied to the fields of medicine, magic, and machinery, and so Atlantis grew powerful, so much so that at their prime the kings of Atlantis would rule over nearly one million people. Their island home being divided into smaller princedoms, one was based in agriculture, to feed the empire, another was of medicine. The third was Military, and the last was Educational, each princedom was a small kingdom unto itself, each of these princedoms would in turn, split from the empire at one point or another and had influence over the ancient world. Those who were in the agriculture took their island nation south and would become as we know it today, the nation of Carthage, The medical princedom would head east and south, influencing the Ancient Egyptians and teaching them much. The Military princedom went north and would later be melded in with the future Roman Empire, while only the Princedom of Education would remain, but this island nation would be ripped asunder from its rulers. This was the infamous disaster that tore the Royal quarter away from the Atlantean school princedom, this island city would drift for years before settling in the seas of the new world. This would become what today is known as "The Bermuda Triangle" where planes, ships, and people would go missing, leaving only wrecks behind, but the truth was that it was a city that had once been part of the Lost Empire of Atlantis, and was only one of two parts that remained. The Royal Quarter was eventually rediscovered by the explorer and later Regent Milo Thatch with his queen Kida, but the Princedom of Education remained undiscovered, until today, when a Ulysses class submarine of Whitmore Industries came across the island city and aided in the raising.
