Alexis Rhodes, Obelisk Blue student, walks down the hallway of Duel Academy her arms at her sides and a bored expression on her face, which was in truth holding back a load of exasperation for the purpose of her trip.

Within the last few years, Duel Academy had suffered a slight decline in attendance (possibly due to the recent spat of...incidents). Fortunately, Chancellor Sheppard had decided to launch a new program to adjust the academy requirements to attract a wider range of students without damaging the overall performance rate. Specifically, he included a new provision that would admit students who lose their entry duel exam but achieve a perfect score on the written test. The idea being that these students would be able to adjust their dueling skills with personal tutoring of more experienced students. Unfortunately, he had also decided to trust the implementation and specifics of this new policy to Dr. Crowler, who as always was far less interested in seeing more "slackers" admitted to the academy. As such he made it his personal mission to make the program as humiliating as possible, and in a way that many of the academy's more elitist minded students were all too happy to assist him with by volunteering as "tutors". As such, the students involved with this program had quickly assumed the bottom of the social ladder at the academy, but since the attendance did end up increasing, Chancellor Sheppard had allowed it to continue as it was.

Alexis, while not a fan of getting too involved in one of Crowler's schemes, had volunteered to be a one of the "tutors" if for no other reason to protect the poor potential students from the cruelty of him and his minions. As such she was on her way to the office to meet her newest..."charge".

as alexis was going to meet the new student, that new student herself was waiting, while a part of her looked really excited about joining, thinking this could finally help her achieve her dream of becoming a well-known duelist, not just wanting to be a duelist, she wanted to be someone people would look up to, someone to inspire happiness and hope. but unfortunately for her she lost her duel in the most pathetic way, it wasn't her fault her deck didn't give her any polymerization cards, her "heroines" being really dependent on those, but it didn't matter, as she at least was allowed to still join, not really sure what this deal would be, as she was just too happy to hear she was still able to enter, she kinda spaced out as she heard her 'imaginary friends', as everyone she knew would call them, just telling her how she did a bunch of bad plays and could have won if she let them be destroyed sometimes, but the girl couldn't let them, they where her only friends and seeing them be destroyed was something she couldn't allow herself to see...even if it ended up in her loosing and being destroyed anyways.

Alexis walks through the door into the waiting room of the classroom that has been designated for this program. She sees that Crowler and Nurse Fontaine haven't arrived yet, but she does see a rather anxious looking girl sitting at one of the desks. The girl is dressed in a Slifer Red uniform, but hers also includes a white armband which designates her as a member of this program. Alexis sighs at the girl's nervousness, but then works up a smile and walks over to her.

"Hello," She says, holding out her hand. "I assume you're the new student? My name is Alexis Rhodes and I'll be your....tutor for this program."

the girl eeps in some surprise, as she almost drops all of her cards, now just grabbing from the floor the few that she couldn't grab on the air as she blushes and stands up as she grabs all the cards.

"i-I'm sorry, I was surprised to find a different student, dr. crowler didn't really tell me about other students coming here, it's nice to meet you, I'm claire ortega" she says with a smile, besides the white armband, she didn't really have anything else, meaning she probably wasn't told all that is really happening in this program

"I see," Alexis says, taking Claire's hand. "I can't say I'm surprised. What exactly did Dr. Crowler tell you about this program?" Every other time that Alexis has done this the students were just as confused as Claire was. However, Alexis had felt that Crowler was getting progressively more and more vague with each new student that came through, and now Claire seemed to be the peak of uninformed.

"Well, he didn't really say much, only that even though I failed, there was another method to join the academy, he really didn't say much, but only told me that it wouldn't last long, so I had to choose then if I wanted to join it or not, so I did," she says, blushing a little, feeling like maybe she should have asked more questions, but she really didn't think much about future stuff, she only really thought of things at the present

"Typical Crowler....," Alexis groans and shakes her head. "Okay well..."

As Alexis starts to explain, the door opens and Dr. Crowler and Nurse Fontaine walk in. Crowler has his usual smug grin, while Nurse Fontaine looks more like Alexis in terms of concern and exapseration. She also has a large bag slung over her arm.

"Ah Alexis you're already here, perfect," Crowler nods and then turns his gaze to Claire. "And I see you've met our newest slacker. Well let's get down to basics. From this moment forward you are a member of our kuriboh level and you are entrusted to Alexis' care. You will do anything and everything she tells you. Understood?"

"oh, um, alright, that doesn't sound that hard" claire said a little confused, she wasn't really sure why was alexis acting like this, she thought maybe crowler was being too mean, but alexis look like a nice girl, she surely wouldn't do anything mean to her, unless she maybe plans to make her make all her homework, not like it would help her much, as she really wasn't good at that eaither

"Very well, always nice when you accept your place," Crowler smirks, and turns toward Nurse Fontaine. "But then there's also the matter of you missing the final part of your uniform." Nurse Fontaine rolls her eyes at Crowler's glee and calmly reaches into the bag on her arm. She proceeds to pull out a diaper covered in toon dark magician girl and toon world designs. Alexis also rolls her eyes at Crowlers reaction, as he always enjoys seeing the new students when they first see their "new uniform".

claire was confused by this, but try to keep herself calm "u-umh, i'm sorry dr. but I think there must be an error, that doesn't look like anything any of the students are wearing...I thought the armband was the only other thing needed for the uniform..." claire said worried, looking at the nurse and alexis, to see if maybe this 'mistake' was done before
