Reagan Ridley had worked all her life to become the CEO of Cognito, Inc., the foremost shadow agency responsible for ensuring the growth and endurance of humanity. Now she had finally earned her place at the top, answering directly to the Robes.

This could not have come at a more opportune time, especially because they were worried about something.

Reagan was given her first official assignment from the Robes, investigating a virus which had ravaged the male population of Japan several centuries ago. That had not been the work of the Robes, but something else entirely. Even back then, they were unaccustomed to such things.

The idea that something happened they were unable to control, and which had completely changed the arc of history, was unsettling. Reagan certainly thought the idea that she could solve something they didn't know was proof of how far she'd come.

And she had the perfect excuse to investigate firsthand, as her mother Tomiko had invited her to Japan to spend time with that branch of their family.

So, as Reagan found herself and her circle about to land in Japan, she was bursting with excitement.

"I am going to watch SO much hentai," Andre said as he rubbed his hands together eagerly.

"Who needs that when you got me?" said Myc, showing off his tentatcles.

Brent was just looking up. "Well, I'm excited just to be going someplace I haven't been."

"Just don't let your guard down," said Glenn, duct taping an assault rifle to his back, "I don't trust any country that bans guns."

Gigi rolled her eyes. "Well, everybody says Japanese men are short, but I know it's because they compensate in OTHER ways."

Reagan just looked straight ahead, her eyes on the prize. The jet touched down on the runway.
