Naruto Shippuden: Consequences (Private)
 

The two Kunoichi bounded from tree to tree in a hot pursuit with a spy that they had been tracking for quite some time. The two had been sent simply to track down and eliminate their target, however, this spy was a pro when it came to avoiding being tracked. Ino and Sakura had numerous close encounters with him, but he had been able to escape without any injury time and time again. This time would be different.

"He's been evading us for two weeks, I'll be damned if he gets away this time!" Ino thought to herself as she quickened her pace through the trees, taking a long lead ahead of Sakura. The spy, maybe twenty feet ahead of them, seemed to have no goal but to evade them, so Ino really didn't expect him to fight back anytime soon. So, she got a little reckles. She saw there was a clearing up ahead, her chance to attack. She followed closely behind her target, and leaped into the clearing behind him, only to have the sun blind her while she searched for him in the air, and have three triangle shaped shadows launched in her direction. Quickly realizing they were kunai, she took out her own and swung blindly into the sun, luckily, she managed to deflect two of them, and accidentally dodge the third while swinging. She landed on the ground skidding to a stop, only to see the spy launch another trio of kunai towards the trees where Sakura would soon be emerging.
"Sakura! Heads up!" Ino yelled into the trees, hoping her partner could maneuver out of the way.

Looking at Ino who was moving forward ahead of her, Sakura sped up her pace slightly jumping tree to tree, getting ready she moved chakra into her hand, they were close to the spy very close and she be damned if they’ll let him get away this time. Seeing Ino jump in the air Sakura gripped her chakra infused hand into a fist her face set in a straight line as she pulled out a kunai from her pouch ready to take action.

Hearing Ino’s heads up, Sakura nodded her head slightly as she pulled her own Kunai in front of her ready to block whatever was coming at her as she moved forward ready to jump onto the ground where Ino was. A trio of kunai’s shot out at her using her own she deflected one while sidestepping the other two in mid-air her eyes solely trained onto the spy in front of her as she twisted her body sidewards, landing a couple inches in front of Ino her fist coming down on the ground hard causing the whole ground to shake but this time something different happened.
The ground itself seemed to have split into two and seemed to moving upwards to make a big crack in the ground as if it was trying to find the spy, to swallow him up.

Looking at Ino, Sakura smirked slightly, “It’s a new move I’ve been working on,” smirked Sakura, her fist still on the ground, “it’s supposed to track an enemy’s chakra and swallow them up into the ground.” said Sakura obviously proud of her new technique and just like she said the enemy was swallowed up but not for long for just at that moment the enemy/spy had travelled below the ground and shot up in front of Ino and behind Sakura.

It was now clear to the two girls the spy was not to be trifled with. He made sure they new that he was very adept at Earth Style. When he erupted from the ground, Ino got her first good look at him. Of course she had already seen that he wore a black flak jacket with a grey undershirt, and blue pants, but now she saw the little things as the shock of his reentry to the battle field seemed to slow time for her. His silver knee guards, a large scar coming from the outer edge of his right eyebrow to the right edge of his mouth. Shoulder length black hair that shined in the sunlight. A look of triumph on his face as he looked at her. All of this she noticed in an instant.

She was quickly brought back to reality when the mans knee violently connected with her chin, sending her up into the air, but in the same motion spinning around to face Sakura's back. "Sakura!" She yelled as she flew through the air before landing flat on her back.

Sakura staring ahead, frowned, still bend over it was only when she heard Ino calling her name, did her eyes widen, snapping her head backwards to the side she could only see the spy slightly. It was only at this moment did she realize that Ino was flying through the air thanks to the spy. It was at that moment the spy begun his move on Sakura, his fist hitting her hard in the back as she spun around underneath him. Kicking him off his feet, her jaw tight together in a emotionless stare at the other ninja, the truth being that had hurt, very much so.

The enemy though simply jumped up in the air out of the way with a smirk as he brought down a mess load of kunai on Sakura, to many to count. The only thing Sakura could do was dodge out of the way as they came at her, the spy obviously very amused at this point, only for Sakura to swing poison senbon needles at him which he dodge, a scowl now on his face as he looked towards Sakura who was still busy dodging kunai.

The spy then turned his attention back to Ino for a slight second a smirk on his face, “What’s wrong princess, broke a nail?” mocked the ninja with a nasty sneer on his face as Sakura came at him with a chakra fist filled punch a smirk on her face as she landed a punch on his stomach, it was then that he turned into a rock-soil statue.

The realization came fast, it was a distraction scowling in frustration Sakura looked around not knowing the ninja was in fact underground the whole time waiting to plan a tactical move on the two or even the one, depending how much trouble they would cause.

Ino scowled "Princess, eh!? Get out here right now, I'll beat you so hard, the next time you'll be in the ground there'll be a tombstone above your head!" She turned violently looking at the ground everywhere to find the assailant, while backing up into Sakura until they were back to back. "Where are you?" She thought as her eyes darted. She soon got her answer.

Suddenly the spy's hands emerged from the ground beneath them, each grabbing one of the girls ankles. Then just as before he erupted from the ground this time dragging the two of them behind him. Ino cringed for a mid-air beating, but found no blows coming her way, as she opened her eyes, she realized that Sakura was fine as well, the spy no where to be found. As there ascension into the sky slowed, Ino looked at the down, her head still pointed to the ground, as she saw a number of kunai sticking out of the ground all with paper bombs attached, right where they were scheduled to land. "What..." Ino whispered in disbelief as they began to fall.

Sakura looking at Ino frowned slightly an idea quickly forming in her head, this will hurt but at least they wouldn’t be blown to bits. So pulling out at another kunai with a paper bomb attached to it, Sakura threw it down at the ground while using her chakra in mid-flight grabs Ino hand and uses the wind current at that moment to fly/jump them off into a safer area.

The area with the paper bombs now exploding loudly causing a blast to smoke to erupt, glancing at Ino Sakura smirked slightly, “Princess?” chuckled Sakura, slightly amused at the choice of nickname the spy had chosen for Ino at that moment, “So what now.” mumbled Sakura as the dust cleared from the area waiting for the other ninja’s next move on them, glancing at Ino, Sakura smirked, “Got any ideas, princess?” asked Sakura in a low voice her eyes scouting the area for the other ninja who was in fact near them very near them.

Underground to be in fact still waiting for their next move, it was only with a smirk that Sakura moved her chakra down to her foot breaking the ground underneath making the ninja show himself once more to the two females.

An annoyed frown now on his face as he starred at both girls, the time for fun was over now it was time to get serious. So getting into a stance the enemy smirked at the two girls, underestimating their skills so far, especially the blonde one who had done nothing much as of the moment.

"Yeah...I got a plan. A good one too. But, you're gonna need to get in close and get him into some kind of hold, I've been working on a jutsu for a little while now, I've never battle tested it, and it's really inaccurate...but if it hits him, this battle will end in our favor." Ino said in a dark tone. "I'll help you as much as I can until you can grapple him, and then I'll flash through the hand signs, then we should be done. Got it?" She was ready, this guy had wasted a soild two weeks of her time, and they had crossed countless kilometers, and frankly, they had no idea where they were since neither of them were navigators. All of these things made Ino want this man dead, and she wanted it ended her way.

The girls got ready for their blitz on the spy, if all went well, the day would be theirs.

Looking at Ino, Sakura nodded, “Right.” muttered Sakura staring at the ninja with a smirk as she charged at him, the other ninja bringing out a kunai to attack Sakura with, Sakura ducking below the swipe with the kunai, smirked again as she brought out her own kunai.

Attacking him in the leg, Sakura got a hit which caused the enemy to grunt slightly as he once again punched her in the back it was at this time that Sakura twisted her own body around. Grabbing a hold of the spy’s waist she brought both of them down onto the floor as the spy hit her in the face but with a fierce grip Sakura held on waiting for Ino to do her move, blood rushing from her nose now as the enemy punched her again, a sicken crack could be heard as they fought each other on the ground, Sakura now struggling to keep a hold of him as his hand was free’d.

It was now or never, looking backwards for a tiny moment Sakura looked at Ino, her grip still strong on the spy it was only at that moment that the spy had grabbed another kunai from his own pouch and put it against Sakura’s neck did she froze. Either way the enemy had his back turned to Ino and his full attention on Sakura who was breathing heavily from the blows to her face and back.

Ino, smirked, and quickly flashed through her hand signs. And posed the palms of her hands facing towards the enemy. Slowly, a faint beam of light shot from her hands. It seemed like ages as the beam inched its way to the back of their enemy, as he whispered into Sakura's ear "I got you now, you persistent little bitch."

Finally the beam reached the center of the spy's back, as Ino eyes narrowed and said "Gotcha..." The beam suddenly made both the spy and Sakura glow in a faint light for a moment, and then faded. "Game over Mr. Super Spy. Now all there is left is for me to kill you."
"The hell are you talking about, princess?" Said the spy as he rose, still holding Sakura in front of him, with a kunai to her throat. "If that was your last attempt as an attack, it was a pretty sad trump card."
"Wait! All your muscles should be useless! What's going on!? Dammit! Let her go!" Ino said eyes wide in disbelief, but also realizing she had little time to save Sakura, she unsheathed a kunai from her belt and charged the spy. This took him by such surprise, that the girl would completely disregard the hostage situation, and go straight for the attack, that he had no choice but to let go of Sakura, and go on the defensive.
"Sakura! If you can still fight, get him now! I've got him on the defensive! We can overpower him!" She screamed as she swung her kunai, the ninja barely keeping up.

Falling to the floor as the spy let go, Sakura looked upwards at Ino and nodded using whatever chakra she had left, Sakura pushed it through into her hand and slammed the enemy ninja into the back sending him forward, flying into Ino’s range his kunai falling out of his grasp.

Sakura for the most part just fell on the floor, something felt weird she felt weaker than normal, tired even as if she could barely move, “Damn it.” muttered Sakura trying to move off the ground only to go onto her hands and knees, panting heavily her vision going blurry as she collapsed onto the ground her whole body feeling like jelly.

The last line of her vision being the spy and Ino as she fell into a deep sleep on the broken ground, the scene around them like that of an earthquake and a tornado mixed into one.
