Yeah, the articles say that jellyfish have been know to sting swimmers at beaches so whether dead or alive, they are considered pests, SteamPanzer. And unlike squids, they are not edible by humans. So IMHO, I think that the fact that they can now be of some use to the human race is actually positive, as long as measures are in place to prevent "over fishing" them into extinction.

You'd need a time machine for that since the only remaining specimens are now in museums. It would be prohibitively expensive to manufacture mammoth or mastodon mittens now.

A little bit off topic but I have heard of sponges (Another sea critter) being used as diaper material before the 1980s but cannot find any evidence (Pictures or articles) about them other than a brief mention in Wikipedia -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supera...olymer#History Whenever I search for "sponge diaper", most of the results returned are pictures or articles about AIO cloth diapers with SpongeBob Squarepants printed on the cover part. The other results are for baby sponges for use in diaper change tables. I would imagine that a vintage sponge diaper would have to be covered with rubber or vinyl pants (A big no no nowadays!). It would be nice if someone who is familiar with this type of vintage diaper would kindly enlighten us with some information (Maybe even provide a picture or two?). Thanks!
