Elfen Lied: for all it's gory, hate-ridden, brutal, grotesque and death-loving glory. It really gives you the impression on how it is to suffer and it does not take prisoners. That and the fact that it does seem to employ a rather evil sort of humor.
Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni: for being so elegant at fucking with your mind most of the time. It's subtle, mysterious and bloody... I liek it.
Tokyo Akazukin: because it's over the top; more so really than the first two mentioned here. Sure, it seems like a loli, gore fuck-feast at the start, without any coherent meaning or story to back it up. But the fact that it employes such controversial and morbid themes (not to mention a really sadistic, misanthropic and evil sense of humor) and the fact that it actually makes sense towards the end, gives me so many reasons to like it.
Death Note: it manages to pull you in with all sorts of plot twists, rather sophisticated dialogue, morals (or rather lack of them), interesting characters (well... with a few exceptions) and intriques.

OMG YES!!!! lol higurashi and elfen lied are amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 lol i love them both... cant believe i forgot to mention them!!!!!
