A few hours later, James awoke and washed up. He checked his mail and found out that he had been laid off due to the company suffering some "technical difficulties". The Human snorted; "technical difficulties" was a euphemism for "a factory or lab was bombed/burnt down and we have to cut costs to rebuild it".
He cooked himself some hash browns, letting the odor perk him up. The Human looked around the apartment and wondered: was Za'kar still selling his diapered rump out there on the streets?
Or had he been arrested or killed?
