Mary's ship was impressive and luxurious beyond anything Rey had ever seen or even imagined in her entire life. She took it all in with wide eyes, then sat down with Mary in the lovely dining area and listened to what the other woman had to say.
Traveling with Mary on her ship on her luxury yacht, racing wherever they went, instead of struggling and scavenging on Jakku? Rey was so enthralled with the opportunity that she almost didn't hear the last little part Mary mentioned, at least at first.
"Are you saying..." Rey began, "that you'll take me with you, and sponsor me as a speeder-bike racer? I'm flattered! That is... I'd love to, more than you know. It's been a hard life, alone here on Jakku, as you can probably imagine. I live mostly by scavenging and survival skills. The only happiness has been the occasional rush of a speeder-bike race, when I can keep mine in racing shape and scrounge enough for the entry fee.
"To travel with you on this lovely ship," Rey went on, almost dreamily, "racing wherever we go..." Then suddenly she stopped and looked Mary in the eye. "Wait... what in the galaxy do you mean, about me being your personal... diaper girl???"
