Cardiac passed by one of the many windows in the castle, and looked out. The usual barrier of trees and shrubbery that kept people from entering was gone, and in its place were two human shaped figures.
Cardiac's eyes widened. He couldn't believe it. Someone had found the key to the spell. This was the first time it had happened since he was seven. He backed into the wall behind him, and grabbed an old wired telephone which was hooked up to speakers throughout the castle. "Attention all servants! Please head to the castle entrance. We have guests!" He said. You could feel the excitement in his voice.
Quickly, he ran to the closest stairwell, down two flights of stairs from the second floor, and straight to the entry door where twenty men and women were waiting for him.
One of the women looked at him. She wore the same dark blue jacket that Cardiac had, a white dress shirt underneath, and a black skirt. Her hair was blacker than that of the night sky, and her eyes were the color of velvet. She looked flabbergasted as Cardiac approached with a smile from ear to ear. "Cardiac... Tell me you aren't just pulling our legs!" She shouted. Within seconds she had her hands firmly clasped around Cardiac's shoulders.
"No! I can tell you for certain that I'm not, Eleanor!" He replied as the servants started to mumble to one another.
