The serious expression that had previously adorned the caped Crusaders face softened considerably watching his baby bird bury his tiny self into his arms but his sad and defeated apology was the thing that switched off his anger fully. “I know you are, baby bird. It’s going to be okay.” He soothed rubbing the little birds back. When the topic of what exactly being a baby bird entailed Bruce gave his little bird a comforting hug holding the embrace for a few seconds wanting to know he was safe here, even if this was all part of a punishment. “For starters there’s no more calling me father because from now on you’ll refer to me as daddy, just like I’ll cal you baby bird.” Explaining the first rule of his new living arrangement Bruce moved a hand under the boys diapered bottom Lifting him up to cradle him a bit. “Your new underwear are now a permanent pair of your wardrobe” Bruce added giving Damians bottom a gentle pat. “I’ve sent Alfred to the store to pick up a few things which we’ll discuss later. This is only the beginning of what you’ll be doing as a baby bird.” Lifting himself off the bed Bruce shifted the new baby in his arms hugging him softly before making the trek back to the kitchen for breakfast. “For now it’s time for breakfast I’m sure it’s still hot enough to eat and I hope we can eat this time.” He spoke making reference to the meltdown his baby bird had earlier. Once in the kitchen Bruce stood amongst the large table with a moderately sized breakfast on it bouncing the baby in his arms before speaking “Now. Does the baby bird want pancakes for breakfast?” He asked sitting in a chair directly in front of the pancake portion of the breakfast, allowing the baby to sit snugly in his lap. Picking up a knife and fork from the plate in front of him Bruce sliced away at the pancake stabbing it with his fork before offering it to his baby. “Open up, little bird, here comes the airplane.” He cooed softly.
