"We'll be right back with our Trials of the Dragon marathon after these messages!" The tv said through its crackly speaker while Chie left the room.
Chie yawned and stretched as she walked over to the kitchen to make some more popcorn. She glanced over at her clock to check the time. It read 11:58 pm. She stuck her bag of popcorn into the microwave and waited for it to finish while listening to the late night commercials against a rainy ambience courtesy of the storm outside.
*BAH-BOOM!!!*
The light in the microwave abruptly shut off after the thunder reached Chie's ears. She glanced back at the tv to see it had also turn off. "Dammit! Why a power outage now of all times?" She whined to the universe as she dramatically flopped onto the couch with a defeated sigh. She opened up her phone to call Yukiko to see if she had power, only to be interrupted by the tv screen re-illuminating and filling up with static. Chie grabbed the remote to change the channel back to her movie marathon, only to stop when she looked into the static and saw...
