at first luz didn't respond, being thrown back by boscha's reaction, she originally thought the girl was cursed as they said and was worried what happened to her, but she was actying like normal, which meant she has been cursed from before she meet her or she was lying. luz knew from her books magic kids normally had some sort of curse, it was like 1 in 5 maybe, and even if this place wasn't exactly as she hopped it would be, maybe this was a common thing so everyone was used to it, so she went back to babysitter mode.
