(I'm considering starting the actual story in one day <in universe time>. in universe, a few hours passed and it's late afternoon.)
"Mom!" Pumpkin exclaimed. Her face was bright red and her ears were pinned back in embarassment.
Applejack blushed furiously. Having her diaper changed by Apple Bloom or Big McIntosh was one thing but being changed by Mrs. Cake was another. Nevertheless, not wanting to fly back home with a loaded diaper, she nodded. "Thanks," she said.
Mr. Cake quickly tossed some vegetables on the grill as an Earth Pony strode up to the counter and barked out his order.

Pound landed his hoverbike outside Pinkamena's Cafè. He looked around. The entire area was saturated with the garish glow of neon lights advertising shops and resturaunts of questionable repute. Graffiti was scrawled on literally any flat surface - even aome of the repulsorcrats had paint markings on them. Heavy power conduits lined the concrete walls.
As he dismounted his bike, he heard broken class crunch under his armored hooves. He looked up; the flickering pink neon sign tols him this was the place - Pinkamena's Cafè, home of good food, high energy music, cheap drinks and assorted lowlifes. Fortunately, he was a streetwise and tough pony - hanging out with Babs Seed will do that to a pony.
He strode into the cafe and was assaulted by a driving industrial rock track. Around him, he could hear raucous laughter. He sat down at the bar and waited for the bartender to get to him. He smiled as he saw a heavily built Minotaur wearing a trench coat - with the telltale lumps that signified a weapon, or several - drinking apple juice from a foal's bottle. Of course, he knew never to do anything that could cause offense in this area.
