Adventures in Potty Training (Private)

Sunny Skies Academy, one of the nation's most prominent preschools and potty training programs in the US. Our tale will focus on two of the newest students at this esteemed hall of academia.

Chris Manzana, age four, soon to be five. He was a bright, friendly, imaginative lad of Filipino-American birth. He had fairly tanned skin, black eyes, and short black hair. He was a lover of reading. Currently he was dressed in glasses, a pair of sweatpants, a grey T-shirt with a wolf on the center, sneakers, and beneath his blue sweatpants, a Huggies diaper. He followed his mom, Mary, closely, looking around. Today was his first day.

On the other hand, a young girl nervously walked forwards as she held the hands of her mother. A migrant from another country, Hana Kaoru, the 4 year old girl with snow-white hair looked around timidly as if she wanted to hide away from the sight of everyone. Dressed in a black suspender skirt and a pale-pink shirt to boot, she gulped as she arrived in front of the institution, clutching a small rabbit-like plush in her arms for comfort.

Of course, she knew exactly why she was here, especially with the thick crinkly diaper between her legs, For her parents, it had been near impossible to even potty train her in any meaningful way, and for a time, was decided to continue wearing diapers full time… until Sunny Skies came up, where she was quickly enrolled into.

Two women approached them. One was tall, thin, and wore a pantsuit. The other was slightly shorter than her colleague, and dressed a bit more casually.

"Good morning. I am Ms. Amelia Summers, this is my colleague, Lauren Winters." The thin woman said. "We shall be taking care of your children." She said curtly.

Chris waved shyly.

“H-Hello…” The girl didn’t know how to respond in such an unfamiliar situation, and barely muttered out a small squeak as she grasped onto the plush for comfort.

“You can ensure that nothing will happen to them.” Lauren smiled warmly as she looked at the two kids, a bending down slightly as to get on their height “Alright, welcome to Sunny Skies, kids. Well, do you guys want to get inside and initiated at the place? We’ll sort out who goes where over here now, then it’ll be more fun inside.”

Chris nodded. Mary and the girl's mother gave their children a hug and kiss. Chris followed, right next to the girl. "I'm Chris." He said, a bright smile crossing his face.

"Alright, Ms. Kaoru, you and your daughter will be speaking with me. Lauren, you take Ms. Manzana and her child." Amelia said tartly. Chris sat carefully on the offered chair

“Ah, um…” Hana stared for an embarrassingly long time, unsure on what to say, before shaking her head and focusing on him “I’m… Hana, nice to meet you.” Simmilarly to Chris (though more of copying him) she did the same as she sat backwards onto a chair, a soft crinkle being heard.

“Alright, Ms. Manzana, it’ll be just a short talk before we get your child into our program.” Lauren cleared her throat as she showed them a seat. “I assume you’ve read through everything Sunny Skies has and their services.”

Mary nodded, "Of course, and what can I say, it sounds perfect. It's affordable to boot. Is there anything you'd like to know?" The freelance game developer asked

"Well, lets get started. First of, Mrs. Kaoru, is Hana here potty trained?" Amelia asked, eyebrow quirked.

Hana looked at her mother as the question was asked, before looking back at Amelia. Ms. Kaoru sighed as she gave the girl a small pat on the head “Well, in truth… almost none at all. We’ve tried to potty train her a few times now, but it’s never really worked out well, so she’s been in diapers full time for quite a while now. She has difficulty in recognizing if she even needs to go.” Naomi explained, being Hana’s mother.

“As with my Colleague here, I’ll be asking some prelimary questions.” Lauren said, “So, to put it bluntly, how good is Chris at using the bathroom? How far is his potty training going along?”. If they were coming here, it probably wasn’t great, but it’s best to get a estimate.

Amelia nodded curtly, jotting this down. "Very well. We'll get her sorted out eventually. We do...tolerate, accidents here. However, depending on the nature, measures will be taken if needed. IE if say, pants are soiled beyond the point of cleaning, or at the least soiled enough to need cleaning, the child will go bare bottom, or at least have their undergarments exposed, for the remainder of the day. We also have regular potty checks, and breaks." She explained.

Mary smiled, patting Chris on the head. "Chris here knows how to use the potty. It's just ah, he gets a bit shy whenever he uses the potty outside the house, unless I'm around. So you may need to remind him. He also is a bit frightened of the flushing noise, so someone else may need to flush after he's done. He is padded at the moment as a just in case thing. He can change himself as needed, right champ?" She ruffled his head, as Chris nodded, giggling. "Sometimes, if the potty or his diapers are unavaliable, he may ah, take alternative measures, if you catch my drift. Any other questions ma'am?" she asked.

“Oh…” Hana muttered something incomprehensible to herself, before nodding along. Naomi nodded as she comprehended everything she was being told “Alright, what is roughly the pick-up times for the kids? And how effective has the treatment been for other kids?”

“Alright, that shouldn’t be too bad to deal with then. Just an issue with the mindset~” Lauren smiled as she looked at Chris, before noting something down on a device as she stood up “Well, in truth, that is mostly what we needed. We just needed to know the measures that we’ll have to take for each individual child that comes in here.”
