During the Enlightenment, Europe underwent a period of profound new thought and innovation, particularly in the philosophical sense. There were some who sought to bring about new ideas which would ultimately lead to the Industrial Revolution. But near the end of the Enlightenment, there was one man in particular who would cause waves in the biological sense.

Things started out quite innocently enough, as they often do, in his childhood. He was born to the family called Frankenstein, of Geneva.

Young Victor had everything a boy could want: adoring parents, a lavish estate, and more money than he knew what to do with. But the loveliest part of all was the company of his dear cousin.

Elizabeth was a lovely and vivacious girl, and to say they were close would be an understatement.

Indeed, the two of them did just about everything together. They played, painted, rode, and shared their meals. They even shared a common interest in the fashion department.

Notably, Victor's mother was fond of keeping them in diapers, which they loved just as much.

Often during the spring and summer, Victor and Elizabeth could be seen waddling about the estate in just their nappies, holding each other's hands.

Right now, this very day, she was coming up to check them both.

"Oh, good morning to you, too, Mummy," Victor said humorously as she discovered how wet they both were.

"Good morning," Caroline said, chuckling at them both. "Now, follow me."
