It's not really elitist. Ha ha. Even Gaiaonline has an invite only subforum. It's completely understandable, and quite honestly, templates wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Problems with the Original Padded Brats
(Besides shitty RPers)

The Story:
I think the main problem I had with padded brats was the lack of a back story. There was a post to the effect of it being one hundred years in the future or some such noise, but the only major difference between time now and time in the future was that somehow discipline had reverted back to ‘It takes a village’ mentality when it came to raising a child.

It was also covered that the Padded Brats story revolved around a foster home in the future where that very way of punishment was well enforced.

But beyond that there was really nothing to the world, no mention of how things had changed, how people had changed, what life was like really. It was kind of stagnant and tailor made to breed the sort of stupidity that people bring to the table often. Namely stupid anime clichés, dumb character ideas, and people acting like their normal selves. The idea behind a roleplay in my opinion is to suspend belief and become another character, not play yourself in the role of an assumed name.

(My Solution)

Simple really, a more rigid backstory would dissolve a lot of the problems we had in the past. I’d be more than happy to come up with something. Right now I’m thinking a utopian sort of society where medical advances have made more serious diseases curable, the technology would be much the same but as with any future setting it would have improved a little bit, especially with the world being concerned with crime and the way the world is run there would be advances toward a more green technology. Chemicals would probably be replaced by less harsh synthetic alternatives, cars would probably run purely on electricity, and energy would be drawn from a renewable source and the like. Space travel was also mentioned in the backstory but I don’t see moon colonization happening within a one hundred year period with our current technology, I do however think that it’s possible for cities on earth to be put under protective domes with an interior atmosphere to stave off natural disasters and the like.

The System

Remember that system that was posted where the severity of your ‘accidents’ warranted a more severe level?

I noticed pretty early on that there are two main problems with the system. For one the system is fairly circular in logic, by that I mean once you enter a certain level of punishment it’s nearly impossible to redeem yourself from that level. The fact that at level 2 you have to start wetting yourself consistently means that in essence you’re breaking the rules by following the rules. Not being able to get up and go to the bathroom at night means that you’re effectively on the fast track to level five, because logically you have to keep yourself in diapers and use them. Then when your room is converted to a nursery you’re unable to even leave your room and by that point your bladder has probably become so weak that you can’t possibly maintain a 30 day stint of dryness especially due to the fact that your meals and bed are pretty much decided by the staff at that point. I know there were caveats to the rule of making it through a night dry, but the idea that you basically have to get someone’s attention who’s asleep and keep dry despite you’re probably severely weakened bladder means that you’re going to be fighting an uphill battle. Not to mention you basically have to do this for a whole month.

(My Solution)

I really would like to say just get rid of the whole level system completely. I honestly believe that you can’t really tailor the levels to every person, and that they should be more specific to how a child reacts or over-reacts than following a guideline. This would also cover the fact that there’s different kinds of acting up a child can do in order to be disciplined. For example one might not necessarily be a bed wetter, but they might be a potty mouth, or overly aggressive. While the bed wetter might be punished by having to clean his own sheets in nothing but a diaper, the potty mouth or the aggressive child might be spanked or otherwise made to use a pacifier or soap in the mouth or whatever. I think the abolishment of the system would also allow for people to ‘redeem’ themselves more easily.

The Theme

Now I know that everyone of us here is involved someway in the AB/DL subgenre and that we like diapers and wetting and all that to some extent. However we must consider the theme of padded brats in general. The idea behind padded brats is quite simply a world where discipline can be carried out by any adult. In more relative terms it makes for a society where adults are given power over children, and children are meant to be subservient to that power lest they feel the consequences. At that rate I’d like to point out a couple of things to the roleplayers in general. One, is that the children are being punished, they should not end up liking their punishment, otherwise it defeats the whole purpose of a punishment in the first place. Two is the fact that adults are the final say of everything, you should always take into consideration that you are part of a society in which adults hold absolute authority over you, therefore it should be societal ingrained into your personality to walk on eggshells when you’re around an adult.

Foster Home

Foster homes are all well and good, but that’s really only one aspect of a child’s life, I think that the theme really lends itself to a broader spectrum of life. I’d really like to suggest getting rid of the foster home altogether, orphans are nice and all but I don’t really like having the whole of our world consist of orphan characters. I believe that making the Foster Home into a Boarding School or Reform School type setting would greatly benefit more character types, you don’t necessarily have to be the plucky orphan child anymore, you have a much broader range to choose from. As well with the boarding school we can cover more aspects of life than just home life, we can cover school, homework, play, and if we need to get away from the school setting there’s always field trips and the like.

These are all EXCELLENT suggestions, Kanji. Honestly, I wasn't too keen on the whole level system either. The top characters usually have a good enough sense of judgement to have the punishment fit the crime.

I would be interested in joining once it's all figured out. Long lasting diaper RP's aren't common enough and that is probably why. If we are actually ready to start an "above average" chat room RP, I'm down, just let me know when it's ready to go.

Um....I think the main problem, was failer to work together. By this, I mean that characters in this certain Rp each had their own story and others dare not try to play along. Everybody was pretty much going at the rp on their own instead of allowing themselves to play with others. What I'm trying to say is that, we have billions of MAIN characters, and only about 2 supportive characters. We need to limit the main chracters that enter, such as the foster kids, and play along with their stories...This will allow tons of anime drama, allow more concentration on the kids, and build up awesome stories that everyone can enjoy.

Another thing is, the INTUITION, parents in real life cannot read thoughts are just randomly show up everytime something mischevious happens. The whole glory of being punished comes in getting caught in the act, and not the preperations. Furthermore, we have to limit the children to real life actions; allow them to use skills that ordinary people have to cause mayhem. The whole being able to shoot fire from your hands, and being a 3 year old Genius gets really old and tiresome.

Finaly, everything that the Rp'ers do needs to have a plan. A lot of people just improv, causing extreemly quick punishments and rarely ever put forth an awsome story. If your goinbg to get in trouble, why not go out with a bang...Get creative and comeup with some ingenious story.

Thank you Corey, From what I have seen of the other chatroom roleplay 'mommy massion' is most of roleplay lack plot of any short. I look forward to chatroom roleplaying with you guys some. We need a better chatroom roleplay and I shall see it come to light ^_^

When the roleplay starts heres what one must do to become a member. 1) Must have a Bio and have it approved by a a Gm 2) Join the Occ room and post a link to you bio and then one of the older roleplayers will do a one on roleplay this shall be your 'Test' if your up to are standers you will be voiced if not then we will work with you till you get voiced. This is to keep the roleplay from being flooded by noobs that just want a quick fix.

The roleplay shall no longer be called Paddle Brats but Saint. Elms school for children. I would like Kanji to help me write to the roleplay and several of the modes to help me too.

As for now I'm going to need two tester and I would like Sammy aka Samiel and Jose-san to help me once we get this show on the road.
