It wasn't often that Kagome Higurashi and her group had moments of contemplation and/or reassessment of things in the past. Naturally, they'd always taken to feeling that the past was the past and that was how it was going to be no matter what. But a series of rising incidences across both feudal and modern Japan definitely had them in a particular mood.

Inuyasha and Moroha were nearby, as they always were. "Something on your mind, Mama?" the latter asked.

"Things are certainly getting a bit more intense, leaving us hopping a lot more recently," she said. "I'm starting to wonder if it's time to reach out a bit."

Inuyasha grinned and hugged his wife. "That's what I love about you; you're always thinking about others."

She nodded and hugged back. "You know, I wonder if THEY are still around in modern Tokyo." She was referring to some figures who had been temporary members of the group during her and Inuyasha's original adventures.

He shrugged and said, "The only way we'll find out is if we actually try seeking them out."

"You haven't talked that much about them to us," Moroha said. She and her siblings knew of their existence and role in the past, but had never truly known that much about them. Specifically, there had been three: twins Michiru and Kaname Kururugi, who had Shikigami powers laden within them and using elemental attacks to enhance the other members' normal ones; and an American transfer student named Janis who had possessed a divine spiritual power called Kamuitama after a Jewel fragment had melted into her, and had gone with the others to find a way to be rid of it. They had never come across the three in the years since.

"True, because I haven't really had any cause to," said Kagome, "But I'm beginning to wonder if it's time to look them up once again."

"Is it really getting so bad that we might need their help?" Moroha wondered.

"I wouldn't say that," she reasoned, "Even so, they're old friends and allies. They should not feel as though we've forsaken them."
