From best friend to big brother

Asriel was complaining to his mom as she and Asgore were going on a date and they were getting him a babysitter

Asriel: Mooooooom I don’t need a baby sitter I’m old enough to take care of myself

"my child, if that were true, you wouldnt need someone to change you." toriel said in a stern yet caring tone. "besides, you should give the sitter a chance; it might be good to have someone closer to your age to play with." she added, as she grabbed her coat. "now be good, the sitter will be here soon, and have a wonderful evening, my cute little boy." she said, stopping to give asriel a quick goodbye hug and forehead kiss before she headed out with asgore.

not long after the doorbell rang,presumingly being the sitter's arrival.

Asriel: I hate it when they leave before the sitter gets here

Asriel was a bit short for his age so he had to jump a bit and he managed to get the doorknob and pull it open

on the other side was a rather dainty young man, almost mistakable as a girl if one didn’t look too close. He was dressed in a pink shirt, under a white hoodie. On his lower half, he had on a pair of pink and white checkerboard shorts. he was a bit short, but not as much as asriel.

"hello there, i'm guessing your the one i'm going to be babysitting? your mom didn't lie when she said you were a cute kid~"

This one is literally treating me the same as the others Asriel internally thought

Howdy yeah I’m Asriel he opened the door more so he could walk in

"and polite too~" the sitter noted with a smile as he walked in. "well my name is jacob, its nice to meet you. dont get intimidated by the whole babysitter thing. as long as you dont do anything bad, i'm just here to keep you company more or less." he told asriel, attempting to take the "cool sitter" route.

Asriel almost actually fell for it until he remembered something and he took out a piece of paper and handed it to Jacob

It’s a list my mom told me to give you it’s a list of stuff I can’t really do myself

jacob looked over the list. "well, obviously if thats what she said, these are exceptions, but the point still stands. i'm not gonna be one of those super strict hovering sitters. if you need me, you just ask. otherwise, i'm happy to play games or let you watch tv or, whatever, kiddo." he said, making sure to put the list on the fridge so it was somewhere he wouldnt lose it.

Asriel slightly smiled but stopped because the last “cool” babysitter he had double diapered him leaving him crawling around like a baby because he didn’t want to eat his vegetables

I think I’ll just go to my room Asriel said as he walked off to go to his room

"just call me if you need me." jacob called out, and then he shrugged, deciding to do some of his homework in the living room. he was being honest about not being a hovering type, so he wasnt going to press the issue. if asriel wanted to chill out on his own a bit that was fine by him
