Jake's head hangs lower and lower with each sentence Matt throws at him as they walk towards the room....why does he have to say things like that? It wasn't fair....it wasn't like Jake could help it while he was sleeping. Both the phrases "peed yourself like a baby" and "too old for this" hit Jake right where it hurts, and he resists the impulse to tear up. If Jake COULD stop doing it he WOULD...he WANTED to. He didn't LIKE wetting the bed. What kid did? But his bladder apparently hadn't gotten the message that the little boy was ready for it to start keeping the pee inSIDE rather than just letting it come out when Jake had his guard down in his sleep. Jake feels himself picked up by Matt, as if he weighed nothing - which he essentially did...small for his age - and then he's on the changing table, lying on his back.

Matt got a good whiff of the smelly boy as he lifted him, though Jake never really noticed when he smelled of pee. To be honest, Jake was quite often a little smelly since it wasn't rare for his undies to have at least a little pee or poo in them. "No, ya don't gotta dress me" Jake said indignantly "I c'n do it myself..." he said, though his Mom sometimes did help him. It didn't matter. He wanted to assert his independence. Matt always expected him to be mature - not wet the bed, not cry, not do childish things - yet Matt always assumed he couldn't do anything for himself or wasn't capable of anything. "And I DUNNO how I pee so much cause I ain't AWAKE" Jake said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. But it WAS...how could Matt expect him to know? He didn't even know when he was DOING it.

As the sleeper was undone, Jake felt the chilly air run over his upper legs and thighs, now exposed since nothing besides the diaper was on him once the sleeper went off.

"I didn't have no accidents yesterday..." Jake said, making it clear that he didn't like the question. "And I'm not gonna have any t'day either.." he added. "I don't have 'em that much..." he added as well...though this was quite frankly not true. Still, Jake hated when Matt made it seem like he couldn't trust Jake to go anywhere without peeing on something. It made Jake feel like a baby. Like down there he just had a leaky faucet or something. Then the tapes came off the diaper, and Jake lay still ironically wanting it to be over quickly probably just as much as his older brother did.

"Well that's good I suppose.." Matt sighed, glad to know the boy was somewhat capable of doing something himself. But he still figured Jake would come down with an non matching set of clothes, put on backwards. "And I meant why do you drink so much before you go to bed, there's no way you go to the bathroom before bed either, liquid doesn't just appear in your body, and you body doesn't make pee out of nothing. There has to be liquid taken in." The older brother clarified as he undressed the little boy, and brought his legs out of the lower half of the sleeper.

"See to it that you don't..And if you do keep them off the carpet..If you have one then I'm going to put you in training pants for the entire week during the day. Because changing wet diapers, beats the hell out of cleaning up puddles." Matt said firmly as he carefully untapped the diaper, and began cleaning the front of his diaper off. And after fumbling with things a bit, Matt held Jake by the leg to raise his bottom off the table to clean it off, before lifting him up, and setting the naked boy down on the floor. "Alright, get dressed." He sighed while chucking the soiled diaper across the room and into a paper recycling bin instead of the diaper pail by the changing table.

And after arguing with Jake about the recycling bin, Matt took his leave to put some clean clothes on, take a shower, and go down stairs to make breakfast.

"I DON'T drink lots b'fore bed, I DON'T!" the little boy insisted..."An I go potty erry single night b'fore bedtime, Mommy even makes sure, i do!" Jake continued. He scowled. Why didn't his brother believe him? He would never do it on purpose. And he HAD gone pee last night. He had thought he would be dry but once again he wasn't. He still didn't know why...but his parents hadn't been too worried. "All little boys wet the bed" his Mom would assure him, when he would come to her crying, and he would feel a little better. Better until he talked to his older brother that was. Matt didn't seem to see it the same way his parents did, and Jake didn't know WHO to believe.

"I'm NOTTA baby Matt, anni don't make puddles. Jus' sometimes...but not lots. I don't gotta wear training pants no more. 'Sides, I'm in first grade now...." Jake insisted, as he was put down, standing naked on the floor. Jake didn't mind being naked in front of his brother, it didn't embarrass him yet - a side effect of the constant diaper changes. "All little boys have accidents sometimes...Mommy said." Jake argued, crossing his arms. "An they don't gotta wear training pants." He would wear them if his Mother asked, but he didn't think it was his fair his big brother got to make him. "You're just gonna make me t'make FUNNA me" Jake said with a frown..

When his brother left the room Jake went to his drawer to get out clothes. He could dress himself but his mother was always the one who laid out the clothes. He had never picked them out, but luckily the choice was easy. He simply grabbed the first three articles of clothing he saw that had pokemon on them - undies, pants, shirt, and eagerly put them on ready to show his brother that he could easily do it - not noticing in his haste that his shirt is both inside-out AND backwards. He comes out the door, and scurries downstairs, looking for his brother, but since he isn't there, Jake plops himself down on the couch and turns on the TV turning on some cartoons

Matt simply sighed at his brother's arguments..If he went to the bathroom before bed, and didn't drink much after that. How was it that he was stuck with changing a wet diaper in the morning? "Whatever..Because when you do that you don't wet the bed.." He said sarcastically with a roll of his eyes. He certainly didn't see it the way their parents did. The boy should have stopped wetting the bed so frequently more than a year ago. It wasn't normal as far as he knew. And if that wasn't all, his brother's mentality about things was another constant irritation.

"Sure you aren't, but you sure act like one a lot of the time. If you would listen to what people say, you'd understand a lot more things." Matt pointed out. "And if you'd think before you speak, I wouldn't have so much to make fun of you about. That being said, I don't need to have you in diapers all day to make fun of you. I've already got all the things I need for that." Matt explained, while poking the little boy's forehead a few times. "If I put you in training pants, or whatever else. It will be because you pee your self. So don't do that, and we wont have any problems." He finished before heading out of the room.

After doing what he needed to, Matt came down dressed in jeans and t-shirt. And proceeded to wash his hands before looking around the kitchen. And then shrugged his shoulders, settling for fixing them both bowls of cereal.

Jake heard his brother come down the stairs, but he didn't leave the couch. It had become pretty well established that Jake was allowed to have that TV - the playroom TV, by far the biggest and best TV in the house - in the morning (as well as the afternoon after school), though it had taken some fighting and whining on the little boy's behalf once he got to the age where he began moving away from Nick Jr. to watching "big kid" cartoons, such as Pokemon - his current obsession. His mother had allowed him to have it, telling his older brother that while Matt could go and drive or see his friends, Jake was such a little kid and couldn't do those things. And his mother had said that Matt could watch the TV as much as he wanted past Jake's bedtime. After that, she had just insisted that it was wrong for Matt to argue with his six-year-old brother for control of a television and so Jake had won the battle for control of the only good TV in the house.

Jake lay on his belly, watching cartoons, kicking his feet up and down. The couch was really comfortable and Jake loved lying on it. Plus you could see the TV so well. Without a wet diaper on him, the little boy felt a lot more confident and happy. The wet morning was just a far-off memory and all that mattered now was cartoons. And the mild tummy-rumbling that signaled it HAD to be almost breakfast time.

Matt grumbled at the fact that his brother had once again taken over the television, with his ridiculous children's shows. But all in all, he didn't have the energy to fight with the boy, or really feel like it. Instead he simply made Jake's cereal. "Breakfast is on the table, keep it there. Don't make a mess, I'll be upstairs." He called from the kitchen while looking around the fridge for a can of soda, and the pantry for junk food. After which he began going through the vast number of cabinets in the kitchen to see if there was anything else worth eating. Obviously not caring all that much if he was setting a bad example. Even his mother had more or less given up on getting the teen to eat what was healthier for him.

Jake yelled into the kitchen "Innaminuteee!" not wanting to leave his TV. After all what if something exciting happened when he was gone? He knew he wasn't allowed to eat out of the kitchen. He couldn't bring his cereal into the playroom. He'd definitely get in trouble...after all, he could make a mess. And that was something he was NOT allowed to do. He had had that drilled into his head, and his brother hated cleaning stuff up WAY more than even his mom did.

Jake waited for the commercial and then hurried in to eat his cereal...he hustled up onto his booster seat, and grabbed his spoon and began trying to eat as fast as possible, nearly choking on his frosted flakes in the process. The small boy paused, and put his chin on his fist. Hmm...there had to be a solution to his problem. That's when he thought of it. His brother was upstairs and didn't want anything to do with him. He wouldn't come down forever....he would never even know! Jake was careful. He was six! Sure his brother thought he was a baby but he WASN'T. He wasn't going to make spills. He was a big boy! Deciding, Jake stood on his tippy toes, grabbed his bowl gingerly and began nervously tip-toeing with it into the playroom.

There, this wasn't so hard. He'd put it on the table. His show would come back. He'd watch it and eat. Then put the bowl back on the table and never tell his brother. And he wouldn't even have to lie since it's not lying if you don't SAY it. That was when Jake felt his foot fly out from under him. A toy car he had left on the floor sends him sprawling...he catches his balance luckily but drops the bowl, tipping over, spilling milk and cereal....on the CARPET!

Jake stood there heart pounding, thumb going up to his mouth, as the boy began to stare at it panicking. How does his mommy and daddy clean stuff? He had to clean it before Matt came down...he couldn't see the spilled cereal and the milk! How could he hide it! Not knowing what else to do, Jake covered it with a thick blanket from the couch, and jumped back on nervously breathing quickly. It was okay now...the milk would dry (he thought foolishly in his young, inexperienced mind) and then he'd just clean up the cereal later and it'd be easy and nobody would ever know. He wouldn't get in trouble...it was okay....still he felt nervous as he had trouble paying attention to his cartoons

"Let it get soggy then, I don't care." Matt said just before heading upstairs with his own breakfast. Once in his room he sat at his desk, and surfed the internet for some time before turning his attention to the television in his room, which really wasn't all that bad. The picture was clear. It was simply good bit smaller than the massive television in the living room. The teen watched some of a movie as he ate his junk food breakfast, and then went back to one of his four guitars, an acoustic one which could be herd somewhat downstairs. Playing acoustic guitar was one of those things that Matt did to calm his nerves. While he he enjoyed most forms of metal and rock music there was something calming about a smooth melody played on an acoustic guitar. Beyond that he just plain preferred it sometimes.

It was about an hour or so later the Matt grew board enough to take his dirty dishes downstairs, noticing the absence of Jake's bowl in the sink or on the table. And the way the boy looked at him made the older brother wonder. With thoughts of dreading what must of happened Matt stepped in front of the television, and turned it off in the middle of some fight seen between two ridiculous looking creatures. "Jake..What did you do?" He asked firmly while raising an eyebrow in the little boy's direction. "Why is there a sofa decoration on the floor..Where is your bowl?" Matt demanded very slowly as anger crept into his voice. "Tell me the truth..If you don't you'll be sorry." He warned.

"Heeeey turnit baaaackk!" Jake protested and whined angrily when Matt turned the TV off JUST when it was getting exciting. Jake hustled to get up and run over and try to fight past his much bigger brother to try and turn it back on but then he heard those words "Jake...What did you do?"

He froze in his tracks. That firm no-nonsense tone always brought the little boy to silence. That slow demanding speech that always made Jake look down at his feet. Matt was demanding he tell the truth, but he didn't want to. He would get in trouble. He made a mess. Matt would be mad at him. He might even tell his Mom and Dad and they'd be mad too. But it didn't even matter. Matt would be the maddest. He knew he wasn't supposed to take his bowl out of the kitchen, and Matt knew it too, and Jake knew he had been caught breaking the rules.

He opened his mouth to lie..."Nothin'.....it's just I was playin with the blanket....." then he paused....he couldn't lie. He always got scared he'd be caught. And Matt had said he'd be sorry...so he spoke. "I dropped it..." he said frowning. "It made a mess." he added softly.

"But it wasn't my fault!" he protested. "It was really excitin on TV and i didn't wanna miss it and I thought if I was real careful I could eat in th' playroom and plus you didn't say I COULDN'T do it......." he added desperately, going a mile a minute. "Don't tell Mommy" he pleaded softly

Matt easily blocked the television and stared down at the little boy. Of course he had a good idea of what happened, but he also wanted Jake to get a full understanding of what he had done himself. "Well?" He asked as the little boy froze up. Matt figured he was contemplating some little lie that would never work.

The older brother sighed, and placed a few fingers as his gaze went up to the sealing. "First of all..Think before speak, You were playing with a sofa decoration..That's something a toddler would do." Matt pointed out, even going so far as to point out that Jake's lie was bad. "And this goes back to what I said before..You don't listen, and you think you can do things that you can't." The older brother said, struggling somewhat to keep his cool, but attempted to deliver his message in a reasonable volume and tone.

"Secondly..There's no excuse. Because this is one of many reasons that Mom and Dad tell you every morning almost to keep your breakfast in the kitchen. You could have put it at a different seat in the kitchen, and watched your stupid cash cow Pokemon show there." He went one, beginning to make his anger with the situation more clear. "And once again, you prove to me, that you don't listen..I told you breakfast was on the table, and to keep it there. Are you sure you aren't a baby? Because at six you should know those three words when you hear them! Now, go to your room, and don't come out until I say you can." Matt ordered sternly, raising his voice and giving a sharp gesture towards the stairs.
