Even with all the fuss and struggle he was willing to put up in the face of this situation, Kon seemed to have quite the knack for squirming himself in as close as possible to his father; but then, it was so hard not to feel comfortable and safe under the man's protective air. With his head resting quite comfortably atop the broad chest and thumb still jammed so firmly in his mouth, Kon found himself pulled in to a strange trance; lulled, it seemed by the steady beat of the strong heartbeat. He'd never heard someone else's heart-beating before...it was nice...

"Mmm..." he quietly sighed, tired gaze drifting up towards his father in an attempt to read the man's expression; just where did he stand here? Was he really risking being abandoned again?...It was those niggling insecurities that continued to keep his eyes open just a little more at a time.



"Oh really?" Wally couldn't help but pry in amusement "Not even a little Gargoyle? One that everybody just wants to pick up and carry around and play with all night long?"

After stepping back to dim the main lights, the lithe man slipped easily into the bed beside Bart; before he went to pull his corner of the blankets over his own form, he found himself absentmindedly turning to tuck and fold a little more of the material around Bart before finally laying his head upon the pillows.

{next morning}

Kon whenever he awakes in the morning will find Clark up reading in bed having awoken some time prior and surprising its a parenting booking for child 1 to 18 yeara old and its a rather big book at that.


Impulse unlike normal has sleep through the night and still won't be awake when Wally wakes up but he was content and showed a strong grip on Wally and whenever Wally gets from free a arm or leg Impulse even in sleep shows speed as with in less then a second the leg or arm is wrapped back around Wally

Thankfully, the night went uninterrupted by the worst of Kon’s night terror’s, though the boy was far from unplagued; every now and then a little whimper would sound from behind his thumb but each time, just lolling his head over a little would bring the sound of Clark’s heart beat back into focus and, even in the throes of a nightmare, would help lull the worst of his fears.

By morning, however, that comfort seemed strangely absent, but by that point his well-rested minded seemed more interested in waking than feeling frightened.

With a little kick and light stretch, Kon slowly began to come around; first thing to catch his attention was the strange chill sticking between his legs and no matter of squirming or shuffling his well padded bottom seemed to help fix it.

"Daddy...?" a sleepy little murmur sounded before he could fully wake, much less realise that little slip “Where…? Huh…?”

Finally, he summoned up enough energy to lift up and sit sleepily amongst the blankets. Blearily, his gaze wandered over to where Clark was sitting. Eventually, he was able to come around enough to be curious about what his father seemed so engrossed in.

“What’s that?” he wondered simply, pointing to the heavy looking book “Looks complicated…”


Even when he was asleep, Bart seemed to have such a knack for keeping Wally on his toes and, even before he had a chance to make sense of what the boy was doing, he couldn’t help but be amused by the younger speedster’s antics.

“Hey kiddo, you mind?” He chuckled softly into the sleepy ear “I need that arm today. C’mob; you wanna wake up, huh?”

Clark was broke from his reading once he heard the question of what hes reading set the book down ''Parenting book and yes it is complicated '' Clark replied as he walked to Kon and without much thought pulled the blankets aside from there resting spot and went to check Kons diaper . Reason being to be honest even if Kon used the diaper while asleep he doubts even when Kons fully awake realize the first case of using a diaper when asleep do to being unfamiliar with the feel of a wet diaper


Impulse after a moment began to stir first sign was the sped up breath and then eyes opening for a moment he couldn't help but at first have a look of worry the same Wally would have seen the few times Wally woke up early in the morning ,ones that hold a glint similar to those thats been for years in a situation that had them in constant worry or fear but after realizing yet again hes not in his time and everythings safe. Well by Impulses standard of safe atleast which is not under constant threat he lost the worry and glint

''What time is it?''Groaned Impulse groggily as he had the best sleep hes had in years maybe in his whole life no nightmares,no being on edge and sleeping so long had left him in a state that for a speedster is rather sluggish''I doubt I'd be extravating that I've sleep the best last night I've had all my life''Impulse stated in all honestly but then he froze when his mind registered the wet diaper images flashing before his eyes of what his father would do when found that he wet the bed or when he was little have a accident . Impulse knows he shouldn't feel worried/scared about Wallies reaction but after dealing with his father up till he came to the past he couldn't help it

As Clark approached Kon had been rather pre-occupied with trying to rub sleepy eyes awake and so couldn't help but softly fuss at the disturbance of the blankets; it was only when he felt the onesie's buttons being pulled apart that the teenager's eyes widened in sudden realisation.

"Oh-! No, wait-!" but before he could pull back or leap away, the deed was done; Kon's cheeks immediately flushed a startled pink as he peered down at his newly exposed shame.

No longer could he claim that the first incident had been a fluke; The diaper was well and truly soaked. The cute little bears had been effectively drowned out by the severity of the accident, save for two nearer the waistband which had turned from a soothing blue to a sallow green under the weight of the urine.

With a tight bite to his lip, Kon could only dip his head and hunch in almost fearfully; how was he ever supposed to cope with this sort of humiliation?

"Didn' mean to...!" He squeaked softly, sounding so positively young as he tried to cover his wet crotch from his father's view "I-it was a-a accident--I mean. I-I just...I don't really need diapers, it was just...!"

But the argument died on his lip almost as soon as it was spoke; right now, not even he believed that.

"Not a baby..." he finally whimpered; after a moment the helpless teen dared a little peek upwards to try and gauge Clark's reaction "M-m'I in trouble...?"

Cadmus, afterall, would have been furious.


"Nine," Wally guessed before glancing over to his own alarm clock for confirmation "Or ten. Same difference."

It wasn't as if they had anywhere important to be, afterall; from the corner of his eye, the elder speedster noticed Bart's demeanour shifting and before the boy could react, snapped his head over and caught a full view of his fearful gaze.

"Hey, hey...what's that face for? C'mere," he murmured gently and reached to shift the boy from the bed to his lap; a sneaking suspicion played at the back of the red-head's mind.

"Dya have an accident?" he questioned gently.

''I know you didn't mean to''Clark said gently in a caring and comforting tone''but it seems you need diapers when you sleep''Clark wasn't dancing around the bush at this matter still it was caring

''I know you aren't ''When Kon would see Clarks body language and face it would be clear Clark was caring and more or less his normal demeanor albeit there was the traces of worry for Kon showing on Clark


Impulse was stiff still fearful when he noticed Wallys fast head movement,fearful because he thought this might be the proverbial drop of a hat shift from kindness to anger on Wally yet that soon seemed to fade mostly when he was brought onto Wallies lap

''Sorry''Impulse said in the type of tone and manner that should be all to familiar to Wally from the older Speedsters days before Wally was taken in by Barry and even that it likely still surfaced till Wally had adjusted to having a caring parental figure. Regardless the tone and manner was the type resigned to a expected fate of getting punished for something that wasn't his fault or atleast was a accident that caused something to happen

Encouraged by the gentle words, Kon found it in him to perk his chin up enough to finally meet Clark's gaze; confusion seemed to soften off when he really took a minute to stop and take in his father's kindly face and soothing words.

He wasn't mad...realising that, something in Kon seemed to suddenly...open....

"Cadmus...Cadmus wouldn't like this," he felt brave enough to tell, fidgeting with the open hem of his pyjamas as he did so "If they knew I wet, they'd be so mad. I remember this one time when I was in my pod--they must've been waking me up for the first time--because I remember feeling really nervous when I heard the lid being raised. It was loud, I guess my thumb was in my
mouth already, because this one doctor...he just turned. Got like, super furious; he said 'Superboys don't suck their thumbs!' and started like, restraining my arms with those medical strap things..."

As quickly as this confession had come, did the walls suddenly build themselves up so tightly around his own resolve; he shouldn't have said that.

"M'not supposed to...y'know. They always said I was too expensive to be a big baby." He continued just a moment, though, was awfully careful about letting too much emotion spill out into the open; his thumb was locked into a tight, restraining fist for good measure "I'm supposed to be perfect..."


"What for, huh?" Wally soothed quite rhetorically as he gently bounced the boy upon his lap; the way Bart shrank into himself was confirmation enough, and like Barry had done for him so many years ago, it was up to him to make it all better, not bury the poor kid under a mountain of shame.

"It was just a little accident, not the end of the world." the speedster went on in that same kindly fashion "The bed's all dry, you're almost all dry: everything's in control. And I'm certainly not gonna be mad at ya for something you can't control," he soothed again as his arms wrapped a little more securely around the young speedster's shoulders "Everything's ok; I still love you son."

Clark seemed surprised on Kon opening up so quick but his mood darkened on the Cadmus matter right before he snapped out of it forcing himself to calm down.Still Kon should be able to tell Clarks temporary slip in his mood was directed at Cadmus behavior ''Well I'm not Cadmus nor is any of the league''Clark spoke openly in a caring manner

''Albeit I'd stay away from Captain Atom hes a turncoat thats still suspended from the league and under watch for his actions''Warned Clark even though Kon would have known of Captain Atoms rather foolish asshole move even if the reason Captain Atom had done so was do to loyalty to America that hero was to put it bluntly foolish as hell as that hero would have been discarded or worse once he served his purpose in Cadmus that is if Clark hadn't beat the fool

''They aren't in charge of you anymore act or behave how you feel like''Clark tried to coax Kon into not acting like something the teenage clone isn't


Impulse blinked but still unsure if this was genuine or a lie as his father had acted this way and turned to being a bastard moments later atleast when he was little at a point it was purely his father being a bastard to him without a act''Well I just assumed from past experience well you get the ideal''Impulse fidgeted as he went to get up wanting to head to the bathroom to get a shower

As much as Kon wanted to believe in Clark's well meant advice, he just couldn't seem to navigate himself around that concept on his own. If he were to act on some of his instincts, the ones that truly troubled him anyway, then he would never live it down; as Cadmus had said, everyone would point, laugh, scorn him...he wouldn't be 'Superboy'. Hell, he'd barely be 'super.'

The teen visibly tensed at the thought.

"I know." Kon insisted finally; a slight gruffness seemed to return to his features, now, as he fought to regain some composure "I already act how I want; cool. And cool kids don't wear diapers or baby jammies! So...so if I wanna do this..." he spoke as he forced his arms out of the fleecey confines of his pyjamas "Then I'm gonna. And!"

Springing from the bed, the young clone landed with two feet planted firmly beside the trash bin; with a fierce tug, he then ripped the sodden diaper from his hips and, quite poignantly, let it drop to the bottom of the bin with a satisfying 'thud.'

Proud of himself, he turned back towards his father with a smug grin and held it tensely.

"There. Cool again!" he chirped with forced confidence; somehow standing naked and unprotected in the cool space air didn't feel as great as he thought it would. Truth be told, it felt almost empty; the quirk to his lip faltered slightly from his features as he turned now towards the bathroom with slightly sagging shoulders.


"Yeah; I get it," Wally sighed somewhat sombrely "But it's not true. You don't have to be afraid of how I'll react, kiddo,"

With a kiss landing gently against the side of Bart's head, the red head finally stood the boy back onto his own two feet.

"Go on now, go get cleaned up," he smiled once more; a pat to his diapered rump serving as guidance enough to the bathroom "Can't have you stinking now, can we?" Though, with the gentle laugh behind his voice, it should have been clear that was just a joke.

All the hero's who has sidekicks/students that was chosen to be on the junior team yet to be named as they choice to let the kids choice a name had either arrived or on route to what is called Hotel justice. Simple and predicable naming but it stuck as most of the league keep calling it that so it became the official name of what used to be a hotel.
