Mai was staring out of the window of the playroom, looking for someone to arrive. The 6-year old has been doing this for the last couple days, ever since she heard the rumor that she was getting adopted. Of course it was not intended for her to know, but the nurses always underestimated how much the kids heard and understood, so naturally, they were discussing it not far enough from them.
Ever since the 6-year-old was staring out of the window all day, waiting for the prince from the fairy tales to come for her and take her away from this dull place. The nurses weren't bad, but the older kids, and even those her age, regularly bullied her for being smaller than average. They played mean pranks too, most recently someone lifted the covers and her nightie when she was asleep, and poured water on her, like she wet the bed. And everyone knew what that meant: one week in pull-ups, if she can stay dry for the entire week, she can go back to panties.
That was 3 days ago, so she was still padded, and she hated it. Especially since the little dress she wore only hid her baby underwear when she was standing still, arms down next to her. The moment she sat down, bent over or reached up, the diaper peeked put from underneath.
All the more reason she wanted out of this place...

Mai had indeed been adopted. The man in question had inquired about the female orphans of a young age residing at the orphanage. He looked for a cute, docile girl he could cherish, pamper and have for himself. He had been alone far too long and seeing all his elite friends with their new children, simply gave him a big heartache.

Money was no problem as well as relations. A friend of his told him about the orphanage and to try his luck. The moment he had seen a picture of Mai, he had been in love. This would be his new princess!

Now the middle-aged man with short dark hair and a goatee was making his way in his rolls royce to the orphanage. A booster seat had been put next to him as he happily looked out of the window, while his driver drove him. They stopped, the door was opened and he was greeted. Edward just waved at the headmistress and her assistants. “Now I wish to see my little girl. I bet she is eager to get to her new home.”

He got in and opened the door. With a big smile he knelt down and said:”Well you must be my little girl. Mai. Right? I am your new daddy. I am here to bring you home. How does that sound?” He asked.

She saw the Royce park in front of the entrance, and blinked for a second.
No, this couldn't be her new father. There was no way on the planet she could get that lucky. This was probably just another industrial tycoon who wanted to pose with poor children in return for a small donation to the orphanage, so he could pose as a philanthrope. Wouldn't be the first time.
Had to be definitely that case, as the headmistress personally rushed to meet him. He had to be that important.
Mai sighed in disappointment, and sat down in the corner. But then the door to the playroom opened, and the man in the really nice and expensive looking clothes she saw enter, walked up straight to her. And even knelt down. They never did that!
She was wide-eyed, hearing him. His little girl? Her new daddy? Bring her home? Was it really true? Did fortune really just shine on her?
She was speechless. She rubbed her eyes, but he was still there. She looked up at the headmistress, but her expression made it clear that she saw him too, and demanded she gave him a response.
- Um... hello, sir... nice to meet you... - she stuttered, but then, blushing, asked again to confirm:
- Are you really going to take me home and be my daddy? - she couldn't even look him in the eyes, even prepared herself to be told this was only a petty, rude joke.

He laughed and said:”Well aren’t you the cutest little thing. Yes I am your new Daddy and you’re my new girl.” Without a word more he picked her up. “Now then I think you’ve been here long enough.” He patted her padded bottom. “Well how nice. Already padded I see. There’s nothing better than a nice diaper.” He told her. “I got you only the best. But you’ll see when we get home.”

He put Mai carefully in her new seat, the belts snug on her so nothing could happen to his precious cargo. “There. All ready.” He said and went to his seat.

And there it was, a confirmation. He really meant it. This wasn't a joke, and she felt it when he picked her up. And that was the moment she wrapped her little arms around the man's neck.
- Thank you, thank you, thank you so very much! - she teared up in happiness. That stopped quickly though, when he pat her padded bottom, and... complimented her for wearing a diaper... Already?
- I don't need it! They did a prank on me to look like I wet the bed in my sleep! - she objected, as she was carried outside, but stopped when she was placed in the car seat in the Rolls-Royce. She never sat in such a luxurious vehicle before, in fact, barely any vehicle before, though being strapped into a 5-point harness with a child proof buckle did take away from it.
- Why am I tied down? - she asked, for her this was prettyuch being tied down, even though her hands and feet were free - unless the seat had wrist and ankle straps too.

“Not needing them? Now now I think you do. All little girls should wear them. What if we go somewhere and you have an accident!? That would not be nice.” He said. As she was strapped in, she inquired about it. “You are my precious little girl so I want you to be safe. I was told this is the best seat and really snug too!” He smiled and sat down.

They drove off and the landscape changed from rural to big city suburbs. They arrived at a gate and as the driver showed his face, it was opened. A long path went to a big villa. Edward got out happily and got his daughter out of the seat, still carrying her. “There we are. Your new home. How does it look?” He asked. Then went inside. A few maids and a butler greeted them and bowed. “Hello miss. Welcome to your new home.”

- But I don't have accidents... - she muttered, being somewhat of a self-conscious 6-year-old.
- Will i have to wear them all the time? - she asked, hoping she can at least catch a break when they are at home. At least for the daytime.
She was not that impressed with the seat. it sure wasn't all that uncomfortable, but she didn't like the fact she couldn't even lean forward to properly look out of the window of the Royce.
She was, though, a lot more grateful when she could finally get out of that car seat, even if she somewhat understood that her new father wanted her to be safe.
Mai was completely awestruck seeing the huge mansion, and the fact that her new dad even had maids working for him. Also, didn't complain against being carried, since she was barefoot. An oversight on the caretakers' end.
- Is this really all yours? - she asked, her neck almost hurting from all the looking around.

“Oh don’t you? Well I’m sure sometimes you do. Everyone does.” He said.
He chuckled as she looked around. “Well yes. All mine. But now it’s some of yours too.” He said and went with her further. They arrived at a wooden door with colourful letters. MIA. “Now this is your room. I did put some things inside but we can always decorate more. You’ll see.”

As they entered , Mia could see a big room with a big princess like, pink bed made for a little girl. A pink, fluffy carpet was on the floor and a white toybox. In the corner was a pink and white changing table. “So what do you say?” He asked

She wanted to object, but remembered the prank pulled on her, and remained silent.
She brightened up when they arrived to the door. The only 3 letters she knew, that were already taught to her, were the ones making up her name, so she could recognize it.
The little girl very much approved of the room at first glance. She could only dream of something this cute and girly before, she didn't even care about the changing table.
- I love it! - Mai exclaimed, and started wiggling in his arms, her pull-up crinkling and becoming more visible as her dress rode up, wanting to get down to explore all of it.
She did wonder though if new clothes came with the new room, and even Edward would quickly realise that although her dress was cute, it was also small on her and quite faded from the many washes. It was a hand-me-down, after all.

“Oh I knew you would! Hm but yes we should get you washed up and get you into some comfy new clothes! These here aren’t fit for a little princess!” He got her out and to a beautiful, large bathroom that had marble and a huge tub standing in a corner. Edward got out of his expensive coat jacket and rolled his sleeves up. He put on the tub and hecked the water until it was not too hot anymore. He then turned to the girl. “Alright. Out of these rags.” He unbuttoned her dress and got it over her head, tickling her tummy and getting the pull ups away. “Alright. Now.” He picked her up and carefully put her into the water. “There. How does this feel? I also got you some company.” He introduced two rubber ducks to her.
