For those not in the know, Starbound is an open-world, space opera sandbox game where you can explore planets and build settlements. All to help defeat a monster known as the Ruin that destroyed Earth.

You play as either Avian (flightless anthro birds), Floran (primitive, cannibalistic plant people,) Apex (humanoid apes like from Planet of the Apes, Glitch (robots simulating a medieval society), Human, Hylotl (three-eyed amphibious anthro salamander), Novakid (humanoid glowing plasma beings).

There are also other species out there available through mods but the most popular are the Avali (ammonia based feathery raptor-like creatures from a frozen planet).

The Glitch and Floran have very unusual methods of speech.

The Floran hiss their "s's" (Floran sstab, fisshman!)

The Glitch preface their statements with a description of how they are feeling. (Curious. What is the purpose of this strange machine?)

Starbounder.org (the official wiki) will also be a great help as well.

I had planned out the RP with someone else already. Do you mind if they join?

Basically, it's about a crew of treasure hunters and fortune seekers. Padding is involved because an Avali tinkerer/engineer (played by the other RPer) enhanced the teleporter so it can teleport people out even when they're deep underground. Unfortunately, the enhanced teleporter causes incontinence.

Except in the Novakid (causes them to act confused) and Glitch (causes them to start talking gibberish).

The captain is the only pilot in the game but there are other crew like soldiers, chemists, mechanics, engineers, tailors, medics and janitors.

The Apex are Star Trek style but live in a Orwellian police state led by Big Ape.

The Novakid are Wild West style.

The Glitch are European Medieval style

The Hylotl are Feudal Japanese style

Humans are rare because Earth was destroyed but their style is rougher maybe something like Halo or Starcraft Terrans.

Floran are tribal hunters.

The Avali will also be available to play. They're nomads...kind of reminiscent of Bedouins but not quite.

Avians are a Mesoamerican styled theocracy.
