I am still HOPING to do this, but it seems the majority of possible players still hasn't fully grasped exactly what I'm trying to do here.
I don't need pictures of characters, I don't need individual characters from individual users. That's not how this works. I should have explained this better to begin with.
If you look at some adventures posted
here you can get an idea of what I'm looking for. I need a majority consensus on each of the choices I have given you all. Basically, post what you want, and I will decide either by majority or randomly in the case of a tie. But know that you are choosing the Name, gender, age, and class of the MAIN CHARACTER, who you are all technically playing as simultaneously. I think Thingywhat understands, maybe some others who have been to mspaintadventures.com already will join in as we progress, but I think you all should grasp how this works fairly quickly once it gets underway. Here's a simple, brief explanation:
Forum users post what are called "commands," essentially, what they want the main character to do in a situation. A user does not have to post the same command as another user, but majority consensus helps the author to choose what command(s) will be used from those given by the users.
A command typically might look something like this:
> Quickly retrieve arms from safe.
This command is telling the main character to, in all due haste, take their limbs out of a container. Another possible command could be this:
> Eat the chicken, but don't drink the wine.
This command is telling the character to eat the chicken on the table in front of them, but not to drink the wine that is also sitting on the table.
The system is based off of old text-based computer games, for example
Zork. Common commands in these games are "go north," "pick up [item]," "talk to [NPC]," "use [item] with [another item]."
Now go do some research, then come back. And when I say research, trust me, it will waste more time and be more fun than your college homework, guaranteed.
