Luke nodded as he crouched by the stairs a moment, and listened in..Curiosity and hunger was good enough motivation for him to take the first soft step, and begin to make his way down the stairs. Hardly daring to even whisper as a focused look came into his eyes while his bare feet kept them close to the wall to help avoid detection, he motioned for his brother to get lower as he did while taking the stares one at a time, and down to the landing where he tiptoed to the corner of the wall and peaked around.

Connor was right behind his brother, tiptoeing down the stairs silently, and then crouching under his brother to peek around the corner as well. The noises were definitely coming from the kitchen. There was nobody in sight in the den. Connor pointed towards the source of the noises, and staying close to the ground, he took the brave first steps and crawled out from around the corner, across the den, and to the door that wrapped around hear the kitchen. Not yet daring to poke his head in, he motioned eagerly for his brother to follow him quickly, not daring to look around the corner until Luke was there.

Luke checked his surroundings before following after Connor to the kitchen door, placing his ear against it as he knelt down beside it, and attempted to look through and under the crack of the door in being silent as possible. Shaking his head to communicate that he couldn't make anything out from his brief look..And simply decided to put an ear to it once more to see if he could find anything more that way.

Connor clambers over his twin, trying to put his ear to the door as well. "Do ya hear anythin'...?" he whispers to Luke, curiosity sort of overpowering fear, because the boys had come this far and they had yet to see a sign of the babysitters at all. The whole thing was even starting to feel like an adventure, and with Luke at his side, Connor didn't feel as afraid.

Luke was actually getting a tad frustrated that his efforts weren't bringing much, as all he could hear was a slight clinking and clanking of things coming from the kitchen, and not much else coming from the large kitchen. "N-No..Jus' metal stuff.." He complained while trying the cracks on the door once more, and ultimately ended up staring at the door handle. Both wanting to give it a turn..And afraid to do so at the same time..

Connor looked at Luke. The boys were both thinking the same thing, nobody needed to say anything. Connor tried one last thing. He bent down trying to look under the crack in the floor...but nothing made itself clear. What was going on in there? Connor took a deep breath. He knew what they had to do...."Wanna do it t'gether?" he asked, once more reaching out so his brother could take his hand...this time potentially to grab the knob as one.

Luke nodded as he took his brothers hand to hold, and put them down together as he gestured with his free hand towards the door knob to do it together as they held hands, not even needing to count down, as the twins were already in sync in putting their little hands on the handle before giving it a push to open the door a crack for them to peak through, to see what was going on, and hopefully ease their childish curiosity as one.

Nick gave a little glance at Sarah as he heard the door creak open, though he didn't say anything out loud about the strange opening door or the soft childish whispers coming across from the other side of it. Sarah had sure been right about their curiosity. Nick, at the moment, was busy cracking some eggs. He had heard from the boys' parents that they loved pancakes and scrambled eggs as well, and the two had decided to make both of them. At the very least, the boys would get hungry eventually and be unable to turn down some of their favorite breakfast foods. He didn't even glance at the door as he continued cooking.

Connor tried to get a glimpse of the kitchen, his head below Luke, but the door was only open a crack and it was hard to tell what was going on. "What're they doin'?" he whispered, as softly as he could to his brother.

Sarah returned the glance and giggled slightly at just how right she'd been, but also pretending not to notice the twins as he attempted their little spy mission while she mixed and poured batter for pancakes onto a pan in odd, childish shapes, having already set the table for them and everything. "The pancakes look alright, How are the eggs coming along?" She asked Nick, purposely loud enough to be heard over the stove fan, and in the other room at the same time.

Luke edged the door open a little more with a little finger and put an eye to it as he looked up and down, and smelled something in the kitchen.."I think..They're..Makin' food.." He said softly while peaking in a little more. "Somethin' about eggs..N' Pancakes.." Luke mumbled in reply as he stared a little longer.

Nick smiled, "Pretty good, just scrambling them up!" he said, as he continued to work on the scrambled eggs. Luckily, both he and Sarah knew how to cook pretty well, and it was sure to be a feast fit for a 7-year-old twin. If the two boys got brave enough to come see.

Outside the door, Connor's eyes widened, as his brain was filled with images of pancakes and eggs, his two favorite breakfast foods. At the same time, the smell of the pancakes finally hit his nose, and his tummy began to grumble loudly..."Eggs N' pancaaaakes...?" Connor whined in hunger. He couldn't believe it. They were really making that? He was soooo hungry. "Is there ketchupp?" he asked, as Luke had a bit of a better vantage point to see. Connor always liked his eggs with ketchup.
