Downgrading Upgrade (Private)
The city of Tremorton was certainly one that saw a lot of action in all of its years of existence. You had your crime and all, but then one had to remember the lovely hero who goes by many names. Jenny Wakeman, XJ9, Jenny, and so on in other subjective cases. Nonetheless, they all were referring to the same person; a blue and white robot going through highschool and occasionally living some alternative life with her natural, built in abilities, ones that tended to always come in handy. Especially considering that they were always tested.
Speaking of test, another one was going to be arising soon. Not in the form of what many could guess to be a typical villain, but rather one that could be consider... Different, to a degree. One that would certainly test Jenny and whatever she had on her person, including a certain new upgrade that was on the mind of her "mother." The upgrade would certainly bring an interesting twist to things, that was for sure.
For now, however, the day was going on normally. No new reports on some great terror destroying the city, or criminals doing typical criminal things. For now, all was calm.

Today was normal. A rarity for one Jenny Wakeman, normally it was disaster after disaster with this place, but she was more than happy to enjoy her time off. Not having any criminals to deal with meant she could catch up on the finer things in life, like hanging out with her friends, or just enjoying some time at the mall.
Though at this particular moment Jenny was just strolling along down the street. School was out for the day, and Jenny was kicking back by walking home instead of merely flying back like she normally would. It's not as if she was in any hurry to get back home anyway, especially since her mom was likely just going to go on about whatever she was working on, Jenny didn't know what her mother was doing, just that her mom was working on some new thing, and wasn't telling her about it. Which either meant it was incredibly boring, or incredibly interesting, at the feeling of not knowing which was what bothered her the most.

Back at Jenny's home, her mother, Nora Wakeman, wanted to surprise her daughter with something different. Something that could easily cause more enjoyment with the life she was going to be taking on. It wasn't something too drastic, that was what she thought anyways. All she had to do was wait for her daughter to arrive and she could fill her in on all of the details!
However, Jenny may find herself running into a bit of a delay before she could get all the way home. Specifically in the form of a smaller robot, one that suddenly landed in front of her, having used built in boosters of its own to slow its landing. Once any semblance of smoke cleared, it's appearance was revealed. A large, spherical head with antennae on the side, on a smaller body along with arms and legs. Three fingers on each hand, and it's feet were mere stumps rather than full on feet with toes and such. Their face consisted of two eyes, which were able to be adjusted from their usual triangular shape, perfect when paired with the mouth, which was also like that.
"Helloooo beautiful." Hey said to her, standing up right and giving her a wave while the other hand was folded by their back. They only came up to half of her height, it seemed.

Jenny watched as seemingly from no where, a smaller robot just landed right in front of her. She was a bit skeptical of it as it looked a bit simple to her, but looks weren't everything after all. She'd never seen this robot before in her life, so she took a cautious approach. Even when it started the conversation by complimenting her, which she found to be a little bit creepy all things considered.
"Who are you?" she asked, looking down at the smaller robot. Given the size of him, if things turned ugly, Jenny was fairly competent she could take this guy down pretty easily. Though unless he gave her a reason to do so, things would be fine. "And where did you come from?" she added for good measure, as there were only a few people on earth capable of creating robots of this caliber.

The robot in front of her was rather quick to give a name. "I'm SU-9." They said, crossing both of his arms behind their back shortly after. "You can refer to me by my very easy nickname: Exo. You'll find out why I have that name soon enough." They said with a slight nod. "Now, as for where I came from up there." They then simply pointed up into the sky.
If one stared long and hard enough, they would see an object, it was a tiny one. Like a balloon that slipped from a child's hand and was going to complete a record for highest a loose balloon ever floated. In this case though, looks could certainly be deceiving.
Shortly after, this smaller robot, now known as "Exo" continued. "I figured that I would go ahead and familiarize myself with the lovely lady known as Jenny Wakeman! After all, this isn't going to be the last time we see each other, oh absolutely not." He said, wagging his finger with a little sly grin. "After all, you're pretty much the only one who manages to... Protect this place." He then simply turned back and said, "But for now, I'll go ahead and let you go home. Don't want to scare your mom now do you?"

Jenny took in what this 'Exo' said, looking up to his apparent space craft that was sort of just floating there high in the sky. Of course she could easily zoom in and see it more closely. The way this robot spoke certainly didn't give her any confidence about his intentions. "You better not be here to cause trouble. I was just starting to enjoy having a little time to myself." Jenny stated, though the comment about her mother intrigued her, how did this guy know about her mom, or know so much about her? Clearly Exo here had done his research, and it was for some purpose, no doubt about that. But he wasn't doing anything wrong, yet.
"I've got my eyes on you." she said, focusing her vision on Exo for a moment before a line of wheels popped out on both her feet, as well as small jets out of her heels. She immediately rocketed away towards home to tell her mom about this guy. Once she got home she turned back to her usual self and went inside. "Mom, I'm home!" she exclaimed.

Exo watched her boost away from him, not bothered in the slightest by her suddenly fleeing. Simply giving a little wave and then a sigh. A brief chuckle and he decided he would take off as well, flying straight upwards until he passed by the lines of the low hanging clouds. A gloomy day, mostly, but who knew how long that would last.
As for Jenny, her mother was quick to greet her once she was at the front door. "Hi! Yes, welcome home! I had been working on something while you were a way and I think you would like it." She told her somewhat eagerly.

"Oh yeah? I figured you were busy with something, what is it?" Jenny asked, curious what her mom had been working on recently, she pushed the thought of Exo and his vague possible threat out of her mind to focus on what was relevant at the moment. "So, what have you been working on?" she finally asked, given she couldn't really think of things she would like to see, it was probably some sort of systems upgrade if she knew her mother, they were nice sure, and they improved her systems and abilities, but at this point they were like doctors visits, not really something she would be excited about. But her mom wouldn't have bothered keeping her in the dark about that sort of thing, so what could it be?

Nora had taken to leading her daughter to her workplace within their home. Spffiy as usual, but with a box of material on the table. "Simple," she stated as she showed her the box and the contents inside, "it will give you the ability to eat and digest food! I figured you could use it as you're enjoying your life out there. Think about it: You would finally be able to see all of the joy behind being able to eat."

Jenny went with her, wondering what her mom had been working on when she was shown a box, which initially meant nothing to her until she heard her mom tell her what it was for. "What, really?!" Jenny exclaimed, the idea that she would be able to taste food was amazing! She'd always wondered what it would be like to actually eat food, asking her friends about it, it seemed taste was a big part of it and she'd always wanted to be able to taste stuff. She couldn't wait to try out food! "So is it ready to be installed?" she asked quickly, she didn't want to have to wait for this now that she knew about it.
