Craig was given a simple "k" from his friend on the other end. It was good for Craig that his friend wasn't normally doing anything at this time of day...or doing anything productive at any other time. Craig had no idea how she would react about her hearing that he had encountered a Conduit, one that didn't kill him nonetheless. Although his friend tried to be as understanding as him, she was known to simply follow the current ways even if they were wrong.

At about noon, Craig sat at the diner sucking down on the third filled cup of sweet tea with a half-eaten burger and large portion of fries on his tray. He couldn't continue eating, at least not now. Too much was on his mind, and drinking only helped to fuel his anxiousness that he couldn't control. What did this encounter mean? Was it just a spontaneous run-in? Or was it a sign of things to come in the nearby future?

"I guess you don't want your fries if you won't answer me," Craig's friend, Ginger, said as she reach for his plate and grabbed a small handful. She put one in her mouth before continuing on. "You didn't answer me; what's with the last-minute plan. I'm getting pissed having to repeat myself."

"Alright, alright! Chill out..." Craig replied, sighing as he spoke to Ginger. "Well... I was... sort of going on a walk this morning... and I might have ended up getting face to face with one of those, um... Conduits..." Craig replied in an extremely low voice, not wanting to draw attention to himself.

Ginger's eyebrows rose. She wasn't necessarily afraid of Conduits herself, but she still knew the possible threat they posed.

"And you're still alive?" Ginger jokingly replied, keeping a low tone as well. "Do you have any idea what is gonna happen of someone finds out how close you were to one, or me for telling me this?"

Craig replied, keeping his tone down low yet intelligible. "Which is why I'm only saying it to you. I know you wouldn't be dumb enough to say anything about it to anyone else, either..."

"Maybe," Ginger again joked, but became serious straight after. "By the way, don't use the word 'conduit' to anyone. That's just a name those guys call themselves to make them feel better about their...'condition'. You need to say 'bio-terrorist'. I know you've spewed to me that not all of them are bad, but it's for your own good. A five second encounter with one of them and you not dying in that time span doesn't automatically mean they're good guys."

"But they're not all bad, Ginge! I know it! What makes you think that all of them use their power for doing bad things? You seriously don't have enough faith in people to think that there's at least one out there who doesn't want to abuse their abilities, or if there are even some trying to hide it to keep themselves safe from the government?" Craig replied in a whisper, though growing a bit defensive. "I saw her eyes, and she didn't look like she was going to kill me. If she wanted to, she could have filled my lungs with water and killed me right there. But she looked horrified, like some sort of trapped animal..."

Ginger narrowed her eyes, now giving Craig a mean glare. "You don't have to get snappy with me. I'm just saying you shouldn't just instantly start defending freaks because of one encounter. They've only been laying low because they know the government will mow their asses down if they jumped out of hiding. If you want to go shaking hands with possibly-dangerous superhumans, that is your business. Just...you really should be careful, regardless if they are friendly or not."

It was obvious that Ginger cared for his well-being, otherwise she wouldn't have warned for him to be careful when encountering these sorts of people. "This person didn't change what I had already felt about them. Like I said, there are still people out there that you actually can trust, even those with this Conduit gene. I'm definitely going to be careful, though. Heh... for all I know, I could see her again..." Craig concluded with an unsure shrug, a part of him a tad unsure about his last statement, but clinging to the hope that maybe he'd come in contact with that girl again. If he did, hopefully it'd be a little more pleasant.
