Lets Review Sonic Gens!

A game I have been looking forward too since its annoucement 1 year ago, Coming to me 1 week late but at -$20 of his console price. All hail PC the master race. Sonic Gens has finally come out and Sega took their sweet time with this. Who could blame them, after all the series has been going downhill faster then a nuclear reactor in lets say an asian country. Sonic Gens brings together 1 bad idea and 1 good idea. The good idea was the original sonic the bad idea was Modern Sonic. However despite its ideals both charecters play extremely well.

Picture taking classic Sonic levels from the first 3 sonic games and putting them into a glorious 3D redesign. Visually 3D for classic sonic. 3d play through for Modern Sonic. The music is very crisp and plays the orignal levels 16bit music for classic sonic and for modern sonic you get a modern age redux. Which in my opinion ruins these orignal sonic classics. But you can change the music to whatever you like so go ahead and listen to fucking Live and Learn on every fucking level you assfags I dont care.

Classic Sonic plays very simple and its more based on memorizing the levels aspects. While Modern Sonic is based on reaction timing more so and less of the level memorization. Which I think is Segas way of showing how stupid kids are these days. Point is you can just play whichever sonic you want to beat the level. However you have to play just as many sonic classic and sonic modern levels. To make the game not so painful for Sonic Fans of the old school generations Classic Sonic will never encounter a 3D running sequence. But Modern Sonic will half the time be doing 2D platforming like Classic Sonic which is actually nice because it makes Sega seem like they knew where their roots came from.

Im a firm believer in that people who dislike the current sonic series should just shut their fucking mouths. Im also a firm beliver in current gen sonic fans should just shut the fuck up about how "Great" Their game is. I think Sega is 2 companies now. One that takes their time on things IE, Sonic 4 and Sonic Gens. The other branch is one that churns out Sonic games that transform sonic into a werewolf vampire robot with development time being just about as long as a raid night in World of Warcraft.

Sonic gens only real downfall is there are only 9 stages 3 of them being classic the others being based around modern. I was really looking forward and I say this with intentions that I was going to get a raging erection. That Modern sonic would be playing more classic levels. I never played Sonic the Werehog but I can assume it was horrible but the stage that got to represent it was someplace in what looked like Rome from Assassin's Creed. It was really amazing too look at.

Sonic Gens is indeed worth your time and money. But I wouldnt pay 50 for it maybe 30 if you can find it preowned. Or if your PC its just a standard 30 dollars (Hail the master race)
