Rarity trotted over to Sweet Apples Acres wanting to talk with Applejack. She simply wanted to her opinion on a new line of dresses that was based off a farm life. "Applejack?" she called off around the dirt lane hoping the farm pony was working in the orchard around her. Little did she know, AJ was at the other side of the fields working there.

Rarity then tried the house. The door was creaked open and since she was technically family, she made her way in. "Applejack! Are you here?" she called out again before heading upstairs to her room. She made her way founding it to be empty. Rarity was just about to leave until something caught her eye. The prissy pony walked over to the side of the bed where she picked up a pacifier.

Clear on the other side of the orchard Applejack labored away toiling the pasture getting ready to plant another section of apple trees. When she took a break to rest her aching hooves she heard something odd like if somepony had been calling for her ,and then it hit her, Applejack had completely forgot that Rarity was coming over to get some advice on her new fashion line. Though she had little knowledge about the subject she could never refuse helping a friend out . As she she started to trot towards her house she couldn't shake this sinking feeling in her gut.
Once she had entered the house Applejack immediately realized what gave her that sinking feeling she had left her bedroom unlocked and on her nightstand lied her most gaurded secret. The mare galloped up the stairs bolting towards her room calling out to her friend in a frantic tone "Rarity you in here,you best not be in my room."

Rarity wasn't paying attention to Applejack, but at the pacifier that was left on the nightstand by her bed. Using her magic, she levitated it up in the air and examined it all around. It looked worn out, but still usable. This opened lots of question. Why would Applejack own a pacifier? It couldn't be Applebloom's since she's too old for that stuff now.

Applejack's worst fear had been realized ,she stood there in the doorway, watching Rarity examine her pacifier. She tried to think of a way to explain why there would be a pacifier in her room. With her cheeks turning crimson she said with as much confidence as she could "it's Applebloom's...Applebloom's doll" Applejack's eyes darted around as her breathing became shallow she gave a nervous chuckle before speaking again "yeah she's always playing with that silly thing,how 'bout I take it and I'll keep it for her when she comes home from school" the farm filly said as reached out her hoof.

"Now hold on a minute, Applejack," said Rarity levitating it away from AJ's hoof which was extending for the pacifier. She noticed her friend being very nervous and unsettled. "There must be another reason why this is here. Why would Applebloom play in here? Tell me the truth." She knew that Applejack will not keep lying to her. Honesty is her thing.

Aj tugged down on her hat hiding her face,she couldn't bare to look her friend in the eye, as she tried to keep the tears in she said in a clear tone "it's mine I keep it around to help with stress...it reminds me of my...my...my mother" Applejack choked out as tears streamed down her face. "Go ahead and laugh or call me weird I you're thinking it" she yelled out assuming what Rarity thought of her.

Rarity was shocked to hear this coming from Applejack. The fact that she still sucks on a pacifier and the mention of her mother. Her parents have always been a touchy subject around the Apple family. She started to feel bad for barging in here and invading her personal stuff. Seeing her tough farm pony friend break down and start crying was a sight she didn't want to see. She walked over to her friend, lifted the hat from her face, and then placed the pacifier into her lips. "I don't think you're weird, Applejack. You are my friend and I don't think any different from you," she said before giving her a hug. "Plus, you do look rather adorable with that thing."

Seeing Applejack with a pacifier in her mouth suddenly gave her an idea. "Tell you what, AJ. After your done with your chores, come over to my boutique and I can assist you with this stress problem. I must go now to get things ready, so I'll see you in a little bit." Rarity wiped her friend's face with a rag to rid the tears away and left the house to begin preparation.

Applejack's eyes shot wide when her fried placed the pacifier in her mouth, she couldn't believe that Rarity would be so accepting of her when she found out her secret but hearing her kind words gave her the strength to look up to Rarity and give a smile to her friend. Taking the pacifier out of her mouth she returned the hug "thanks for understanding Rarity,but this stays between us nopony else needs to know what I do in privacy." She said as she stepped back.

Applejack nodded in agreement as she galloped back to the field "it should only take a couple of hours I'll see you in a bit" she yelled back as she made her way back to the pasture.

Rarity headed to the store to buy some supplies and headed straight to the foal section. She wanted Applejack to expand this stress relief hobby than just sucking on a pacifier. After purchasing all that she need and it did cost a bit more than she exepected, she returned home and set everything up for when Applejack comes in.

Not wanting her friend to wait too long Applejack worked as hard as she could trying to complete her chores as fast as she could but still having it done right after a hour and a half of hard labor she had finally completed her work and knowing she had some extra time she decided to take a quick bath not wanting to be dirty when she arrived at the boutique she knew how much Rarity hated any thing filthy in her shop. After cleaning up she packed one of Granny Smith's pies as a thank you gift, she also threw in her pacifier into the saddlebag.

Arriving at the boutique she stood at the door pausing for moment thinking of what was about to happen, 'would she want to talk about why I still use a pacifier' she Applejack thought to her self as she took a deep breath before she knocked on the front door.
