Pocahontas was moving through the forest areas to another settlement that had been set up not too far away from the Jamestown area. Like before, she was very curious about what she'd see the white men bringing to these shores. She moved slowly, making sure that there were no enemies in the area, blending in as best she could with the environment. Finally, as the sun began to set, she arrived at the gates, and was suddenly aware of pressure on her body: a need to void her bowels. She went to the center of town, got down to squat, and closed her eyes.

Late in the evening as the town had gathered together for a simple evening meeting, they had just dispersed and went into their houses, that is, a few stayed out and talked until they spotted a native indian squatting down in front of their gates. They weren't sure what the act resembled, but two men went to her and grabbed her arms and pulled her in after she stood, hopefully finished.

They went on talking evil words about the female, though her beauty was breathtaking. One townsperson Matt knew how the town usually dealt with 'savages' so he spoke up, and after his speaking for, over the girl, the town agreed to let him bear the burden of the woman. The recent passing of his sister allowed them to have some pity for him and knew his intentions were good. The two men let her go and he took her hand and led her into his home. "My name is Matt," he starts. "Do you know English?" he asks

"Yes," Pocahontas said quite flawlessly. "My name is Pocahontas. I come from the space by the first English town on my people's land. Are you familiar with it?" She smiled and blushed a bit at the sight of the man called Matt.

"Jamestown?" He guesses as he locks his door and walks her over to a room with a round stone basin with water over a hole with a wooden plug. He then took a towel and pulled up the girl's dress, a bit rudely, and wiped her bottom then dabbed the cloth in the water in the basin then cleaned the rest of her bottom. Afterwards he lifted the plug, let the messy water drain, then plugged the hole and dumped half a bucket of water into the basin.

"Yes, I believe that's the one," she replied. She was slightly uncomfortable at the process that Matt was putting her through to clean her. "What exactly are you doing right now?" She yelped a little bit at one point.

"I'm cleaning you. You are not allowed to squat in an area and do what you did. We have toilet basins. It's a new technology. This land is irrigated which means we have water flowing around the land, not just in one area. "This basin allows to dump waste, then with water sends it through a hole to an area away from the town" he explains then stands up. "You are a very beautiful indian Pocahontas, but I have to teach you about the town or they will want you banished or dead" he explains. "Now I have something that will help you until you get used to going in the basins" he adds.

"Oh," Pocahontas said, understanding somewhat. She blushed again at the fact that Matt called her pretty. "You do? What are they?" She was surprised when Matt came back from rummaging.

He returned from a small cupboard with a white cloth and two metal safety pins. "This is called a diaper. You wear it around your waste, use it instead of squatting on the ground, then you clean them, and wear them again" he explains.

"Really?" Pocahontas asked in confusion. "Why do people wear these things? It seems to defeat the purpose of...you know." She looked at the pins. "And what are those things?"

"They are for those who are injured, and those who don't know how to use the basins. Squatting and burying has been reserved only for outside the city use, and traveling use. Anything like that done inside the city is forbidden. You are lucky you went just outside the gate, which people look down upon for the time being, just because everyone can see you. So when people realize it's better to use a basin or diaper, they do so" he explains then adds, "these pins keep the cloth held together so that it can be removed easily and held securely. Sewing one on, would be an issue with removing it and cleaning it"
