Summer Time- and the living ain't so easy (private with LittleDuck)

The blonde has given up at this point. No matter what these two will push and insist until you cave in-house which is why Katsuki only told Izuku half the truth, just said what needed to be said and left it at that. Then he heard Inkos time shift, if only for a mp!et, while her hands shook. He wasn't very good with emotional conflicts (obviously) so he gave Izuku a: 'Go comfort your mother or something' look. "And whatever you do is greatly appreciated..."

"Oh, Mom. We're both fine, I promise. It's true that a lot of stuff had happened and sure it wasn't always easy and it did get kind of bad for a while..." Izuku started to ramble only to realize that what he was saying wasn't very comforting. "AH, but we're ok! Really we're both ok and happy, Right Kacchan?" Izuku said looking over at the blond, in the hopes that he would help before Izuku said something stupid.

"Yeah! Besides, it's our trauma that gives us our personality- without it we'd all just be cardboard cut-outs in some display window. Plus, the past is the past.. It's best not to dwell on it and just do the next right thing." The blonde added, he tried to go along with Izukus soft reassuran ce, but added his own spin on it.

"I suppose that is true...Although my motherly instincts would prefer if neither of you had to go through any trauma." Inko said as she put the tub of ice cream back in the freezer. She then pick up the bowls of ice cream on the counter and turned to hand them to one to Izuku and the other to Katsuki. "It's one thing for me to watch you to play hero's at the park where if things go wrong you might get a scraped knee. But now that you two are working towards the real thing, I can't help feeling worried when the two of you are going to be in real danger."

"Mom..." Izuku started to say.

"I know, I know. You want to save and protect people and that is a very admirable goal. Just promise me that you two will protect each other too alright." Inko said with a smile. "Now, enjoy your ice cream and then I think getting to bed early tonight would be a good idea. A good nights sleep would be a wonderful way to start your break from school."

Katsuki simply listened as Inko spoke her peice, staying quiet and nodding along with her. He didn't really understand how she could be so- what was the word... Touchy? No, Clingy was closer but he meant it in the best way. If Coddly was a word that'd be her. The male was snapped out of his thoughts as he was handed the bowl of ice cream, not waiting more than two seconds before eating. But as She continued talking, bakugo slowed his eating. Inko still saw them as kids - Which they technically still were- but at least they'd matured even if for some of was more than others.

"Don't worry Auntie- Its kinda my job to make sure he's able to take on the world. I've been doing it since we were little, believe it or not." He said proudly, resuming his rather messy ice cream eating.

Izuku had been so surprised by Kacchan's words that he managed to fumble with and inevitably drop his spoon onto the floor. While it was true that the two of them were starting to patch things up between them, it still seemed a little out of character for Kacchan to make a claim like when it involved Izuku. Did Kacchan really mean that? Or was he just trying to comfort Inko? As always Izuku had about a million and one questions he wanted to ask but for now chose to just file this new bit of information away. Izuku then went over to the sink to rinse off his spoon so that he could finish his ice cream. "That is true. Kacchan is very good at...pushing...me to become better. I don't think I would have gotten this far without a bit of...help...from Kacchan. We, and all of our friends are a team. We help keep each other safe."

"That's comforting to know." Inko said before noticing a bit of ice cream on Katsuki's face. She thought nothing of it as she took napkin and began to wipe Katsuki's face clean. Inko then started to make her way out of the kitchen "I'm going to get the fan out of the hall closet and set it up in Izuku's room so that you boys have it incase you get too hot during the night. When you boys finish your ice cream you can just leave the bowls and spoons in the sink."

The blonde flinched when he heard Izukus spoon hit the floor, turning to look at him only to see him walking over to the sink. The males reaction confused him, he didn't lie- Since Katsuki has knew Izuku was quirkless he had tried his best to treat him the way the world was going to treat him. Tough Love, as he liked to call it. Though he would admit that he went too far sometimes, and always felt bad after, Like that day in middle school- y'know the day where he told Deku to take a swan dive off the roof? Yeah.... That was too far. Either way, as he listened he heard the green-haired males statement- So he did get it! But the whole spoon dropping was pretty dramatic.

Bakugo was about to take another note before inko came up and started cleaning his face. This not only confused the blonde, but flustered him as well. There was a small embarrassed blush tinting the males cheeks, which he quickly tried to get rid of my rubbing where Inko already cleaned- like that'd do any good. Katsu nodded and have her a solid thumbs up, his mouth was full and he didn't wanna speak with it in that state. He swallowed and looked in her direction. "Alright, that sounds good!"

Izuku had felt his own face heat up with a slight blush when he watched his mother wipe the Kacchan's face clean. It was a little awkward to watch at first, but for some reason that Izuku couldn't explain, he had found the action and the way Kacchan had reacted to be almost...cute? Maybe it was because of the nostalgia it gave him because it reminded him of when the two of them were kids...but Izuku had a suspicion that there was more to it then that, he just wasn't sure what it was exactly. Whatever it was, Izuku liked the feeling he got when he watched Kacchan allowing himself be taken care of by someone. After Inko was out of the room and out of earshot, Izuku spoke up. "I guess mom really misses being able to take care of us if she's doing stuff like that..." It was the best explanation Izuku could come up with for his mother's actions. After all his mother probably didn't even realize she was doing it.

Inko soon returned to the kitchen. "Alright boys, Izuku's room is all set up for you two when you're ready to go to bed."

The male barely noticed Izukus own blush as he was deep in thought, wondering how tonight would work out- would his body actually behave and let him sleep? Probably not. He had a sneaking suspicion that he'd wake up, due to the same reoccurring nightmare that his brain concocted, and either cry, wake Izuku up, or both. It wasn't until the male spoke that Katsuki remembered that he was even there, causing him to flinch again. "I guess..." He said simply, pausing to think of his own explaination. "I guess since she hasnt seen me since I was little, it'd be a force of habit." The blonde finished his dessert and rinsed his bowl just in time for inko to say the room was ready. "Thanks Auntie, I really appreciate it."

"It's no trouble at all." Inko said with a bright smile as she walked towards the sink where Katsuki was standing, taking the rinsed bowl from the blond boys hands and drying it with the dish towel. "You're much more special than just a house guest so I want you to make yourself at home while you're here. Our home will always be your home Katsuki."

As Izuku watched his mother and Kacchan, he couldn't help but noticed that as the evening progressed and closer to the time Kacchan usually started getting ready for bed, the blond seemed to become a little more distant and lost in thought. Kacchan had said that sleeping in a new place was a little stressful, but was that really all there was to it? Izuku didn't normally go to bed as early as Kacchan, since he often lost track of time while he was reading the hero news or adding more notes to his research notebooks. However, Izuku wondered if maybe Kacchan would be able to sleep easier if Izuku went to bed at the same time. "I think i'm going to get ready for bed now, I'm pretty worn out." Izuku said trying his best to make a yawn look convincing. "Kacchan you usually start getting ready for bed around this time anyway, right?"
