Appearance: Camry is a little bit small for her age, but nothing terrible, just slightly smaller than average. She’s got a lithe build. She’s Caucasian, though not completely pale, an accurate description being, “skin colored”. She has short brown hair, about at her jaw in the front, but shorter in the back just slightly, and keeps it parted at the center. She doesn’t like many other hairstyles; it’s pretty much her style of choice due to being really easy to take care of and not getting helmet hair!
Her typical outfit is fairly standard for a girl her age. She likes to wear tee shirts or long sleeve shirts depending on weather, often preferring bright colors. For her bottom half, she usually wears pants, or her preferred combos: skirts and tights, skirts and pants, or skirts and shorts. She likes to wear skirts--and as an extension--tights/pants/shorts underneath them, due to the fact that they’re way more comfortable and have many, many more functions!
She has her ears pierced as well, but that was a difficult venture for her, so she wears those earrings with pride. She doesn’t really have any other body modifications, though she may not be far from glasses…
History: Camry’s mother was… not well from the very beginning, though not obvious. She was a strong woman, largely successful in her accounting office, and the epitome of success in the world of the present. She married into more wealth and the three children they were raising were growing up well. She had a brother and a sister, five and three years older than her respectively. Both of her parents regarded success in the highest fashion, believing a college degree and a fat paycheck were the true keys to success.
However, shortly after Camry’s birth, her father passed away. While Camry was too young to realize anything at the time, it was a breaking point for her mother. Psychosis settled in, and she began to drive all of her children towards success. Her brother and sister were both incredibly bright, genius level or darn close, and their mother made sure to use that as much as possible. She babied them, got them tutors, sent them to fancy schools for the gifted, and reared them in order to make their father proud.
Camry however, wasn’t above average enough. She was still a smart kid, but when her IQ tested 25 points lower than her brother and sister, her mother was furious with the child. Driven by the thought of failing her husband to raise all their children to be successful Harvard graduates ate away at her. Camry as a result didn’t receive the same treatment. She received what CPS called “adequate” treatment. She had clothes that fit, ate at least one meal a day, and had her medical needs taken care of to an extent.
Her mother however was smart enough to keep up images. While Camry went to the cheapest daycare she could come across until age 5, her brother and sister were in expensive schooling, off on the road to success that her mother was convinced she would never be able to take. So, she picked up her other children first, them came for Camry looking quite the part, a single mother struggling to raise her kid.
The guise lasted for some time; they went to separate doctors, schools, daycares on holidays, you name it! Her mother was very careful to keep up her own image.
Camry, once old enough, began going to sleepovers. Her mother loved it and encouraged it, not seeing the harm. Her friends knew she had siblings but not much was said. Her teachers knew it as well, but they assumed all the spare money was spent keeping the kids smart enough to get in those schools in them, and abuse or neglect was never suspected.
Her mother’s mental state however, only continued to deteriorate. She began to tolerate Camry less and less. The young girl, age of only six, began to lose weight and her clothes didn’t get updated as frequently. Her mother was finally fed up. She packed up everything she needed, ashamed to even be associated with the "idiot child" for any longer, and while Camry was sleeping at her friend’s house, packed up and left.
When Camry was dropped off a few days later, her house was locked, no one was home, and the insides looked barren. Her family had simply moved on without her. The friend’s mother called CPS immediately, and the child was taken into the custody of the government. Her mother didn’t turn up when contacted, and custody was seized. She has since moved to Quinn House, after a short time in U.S. foster services, at the request of one of her foster parents and the money saved by CPS.
Her siblings turned up in a fancy boarding school across the country about a month or so later, and her mother was last seen boarding a plane across seas.
Personality: Camry is a very playful girl: very high energy, very extroverted, and very flexible when it comes to play. Heck, you’d think she was built to play around based on how much she does it. Whether it’s inside or outside, calm or rowdy, she’s definitely the life of the playground or the movie theatre, not really to others amusement at times, but she can’t help it! She doesn’t have TOO much energy; she just brings a life with her wherever she goes, as long as she’s excited to be there it seems to spread to her peers.
Her emotions aren’t hard to read. When she’s upset, she gets very quiet and pouty, or cries, and when she’s happy she smiles a lot, giggles, and spends a lot of time with other people. Sets along with all sorts of adults, from quiet ones to ones who play around with her constantly! She’s a very versatile kid, and loves to get attention, though may be slow to warm up to hugs and holding hands. She's relatively new to that stuff after all!
School: Camry is going into the second grade this year. She’s behind developmentally due to the neglect of her family members. She's well below grade level in reading and writing, still working on her concepts of print and rote memorization reading, and is just barely approaching her concrete operational stage in math. However, she loves school, and she loves to learn. So she's on board with whatever she has to do to succeed.
Interests/Hobbies: She likes to read, play outside, watch television, do arts and crafts, play inside, and even watch TV, movies, and play video games occasionally… just nothing icky boys would like.
Medical: Camry has two really... embarrassing problems. She can't really help it, it's all subconscious, but she was spoiled with a pacifier as child, so thumb-sucking came naturally once that was taken away. She does it when she's asleep, and occasionally does it when awake, but is doing her best to move away from it because she finds it embarrassing even for herself!
Her other really embarrassing problem is that she wets the bed. Even through naps, she just can't seem to stay dry. Which is alright and understandable, she was traumatized enough as a kid to where her mind and body didn't ever prioritize night time potty training over sleep. Sleep was her saving grace from not eating, her cold room, and everything else that neglect brought on to her, so bedwetting is just an extension of that.
