It's high noon on the dusty plains. Tumbleweeds brush along the dry ground as the gentle breeze pushes them along in the hot summer sun. One tumbleweed bounds over a barren stretch of railroad track that seems to stretch on for as far as they eye can see. A few cliffs seem to stand out here and there, but the area is otherwise relatively smoothed out.

Perched upon one of these cliffs, two ladies watch the tracks expectantly as they wait for the train to come barreling by. Their cliff hangs right over the tracks, giving them a perfect vantage point to see it. "I dunno about this," Ashley Jonston says as she adjusts a pair of fancy brass goggles she's wearing, "Are you sure there's that much on this train?"

"Twelve Gs in gold sterling," Sarah replied, surveying the scene below. In two minutes, the train would be there, and she'd be on it. "I'd bet my ass on it." (Wink wink nudge nudge.)
She adjusted the spool of wire running from a servo on her left arm, and checked to make sure her Revolver was snugly in its holster. "You sure you can get the horses around in time? That much cash is worthless if I don't have a getaway."

In the distance, a thin trail of smoke grew visible, not to the naked eye, but doubtless plain to Ashley's enhanced vision.
"And this wire will support my weight?" Sarah added, cautiously.

"It'll be fine. No need to act like such a baby," Ashley said, smirking as she heard Sarah's comment. "Would you really care to make a wager though?" She asked as she spotted the smoke way off in the distance, "I doubt there's any more than ten G's in that train. If I'm right, that ass of yours is mine until the next heist..." She gave a blushy sly grin to Sarah.

"And when I'm right," Sarah replied, "You don't get a cut from any of the cash above the ten. Even if there's a billion bucks down there, you still only get half of ten thousand." Honor among thieves, maybe, but you didn't get between Sarah and her share of the spoils. Besides, what's the worst that Ashley could do? They'd had some nights together in the past, so worst case scenario Sarah would still be having some fun. "Deal?"

Ashley was grinning from ear to ear. "Deal," She replied, "Now, the train is on its way; I can see it in the distance, so get yourself ready. You'll be wanting the third car from the front; that's where the loot's usually at. I'll get the horses and meet you on the right side of the train. Oh, and don't take forever either!" The smoke of the train was now clearly visible to Sarah as well; it would be passing under them very soon!

Ashley then got up and started making final adjustments to Sarah's cable. "So, how's your arm holding up? Everything been alright with it?"

Sarah flexed her fingers, keeping an eye on the train below them. "I won't forget to wash behind my ears and brush for sixty seconds either, mom. Arm's working fine. Can't wait to try the new servo in action. See you in ten?"
She waved with her right hand, and jumped off the cliff.
The freefall was, of course, immediately slowed by the cable mounted to the cliff above. After ten seconds of descent her boots hit steel, landing on the engraved top of the train. Detaching the cable and letting it fall away, she jumped down through the back door, revolver drawn.
"Nobody move! This is a... oh." The car was empty of people, only a couple large chests sitting, unguarded. "Easy," Sarah smirked, approaching the boxes.
Beep.
Sarah paused, glancing around.
Beep.
A glimmer of recognition dawned on her face, and she quickly hooked a cable from her left arm to the three chests.
Beep beep.
She turned, sprinting to the door.
Beep beep beep beep beep-
Jumping out, she yanked hard with both arms on the cable, yanking the boxes out after her as flames erupted in the rail car.

Ashley rolled her eyes as she watched Sarah descend down onto the train. Once she had landed, she quickly made her way down the cliffside, sliding down one of the less steep sides until she touched down on the flat barren ground. She then jumped onto her horse and took off after the train, the other horse following alongside her. Just as she was nearing the train however, the railcar erupted in a big fireball!

Ashley gasped as her horse jumped a bit and reared back, the fireball taking them all by surprise. She had no idea what had just happened or why the railcar had exploded. However, she did see Sarah on the ground just up ahead. She quickly raced up towards her, hoping she was okay. "Sarah! What happened!?"

"Got the loot. Scorched my new shirt. That's about it," she said, bluntly, standing up and brushing off her white blouse and trousers. "Let's get out of here before they send some guards after us."
In her landing, she had managed to take it mostly on her left arm. This meant she was unharmed save for some bruises, but the metal hand was mostly bent into twisted brass, and the spool connecting her to the chests wouldn't come out or retract, linking her to three heavy boxes like a long pair of handcuffs.

Ashley nodded as she helped hoist Sarah up onto her horse before they quickly took off in the opposite direction of the train. It wasn't too far to their current hideout; they did have a major one, but it wasn't anywhere near here. Instead, they had a lavish carriage hidden in a nearby cave; the carriage was pretty much their home away from home whenever they needed to move about for their heists.

"It's a good thing you're alright," Ashley said as they sped towards the cave, "Just what happened back there? You weren't even in the car for more than a minute!"

"No guards, it was wired to blow," Sarah said, keeping her horse close to the one carrying the goods to avoid being pulled off her own. "I just barely made it out in one piece, but I managed to, well," She held up her mangled arm, gesturing to the cable leading from it. "I might need some repairs, if you don't mind," she added sheepishly as they reached the cave.
