Asylum Days (private)

25-year-old Erin Nolan walked through the halls of the asylum towards the room of her new patient. She hadn't gotten a good look at the patient's file, all she knew was something about neurological damage and infantile behaviors, but she wouldn't get the full picture until she actually saw this patient in person. Arriving at the room, Erin opened the door and entered slowly.

An eighteen year old girl called Abigail Jones had recently been brought into an asylum after a car accident with her friend. Abigail had blonde hair done in two braids, bright baby blue eyes, and was a little short for her age and had been placed in the asylum until her condition improved or a suitable guardian was found for her. Unfortunately her parents had passed away a few years ago so she had no one to take care of her when the car crash caused her to start thinking she was a two year old girl. She was currently sleeping in a bed wearing a soaking wet purple diaper that had leaked onto the bed and was starting to get a diaper rash.

Erin was shocked upon seeing Abigail's condition. She was in a drenched diaper and she didn't even know it. This was far worse than Erin thought. She'd definitely need to change Abigail, but first, she had to be woken up. "Rise and shine sweetie pie! It's time for diapee changies!" Erin said, gently tapping the sleeping girl's shoulder.

Abigail whined a little bit but stayed in the bed. She was still asleep for the moment so Erin could try to change her diaper if she was careful and didn't wake her up. Abigail didn't know where she was at the moment but would probably become scared and try to find her mom or think the first person she saw was her mom.

"Looks like you're a deep sleeper," Erin said to herself as she decided to change the girl as she was sleeping. The asylum worker deftly untapped the diaper and took it off of her patient, taking care not to wake her up. She then thoroughly wiped Abigail to ensure she wouldn't get diaper rash, and placed a new diaper on her.

Abigail yawned as she started to wake up after she had gotten a new diaper. As she opened her eyes for the first time since the car accident had knocked her unconscious she looked up to see a lady staring back at her. "Mama ?" Abigail asked Erin immediately assuming the woman was her mom as she didn't remember what her real mother looked like.

Erin started a bit when Abigail woke up and addressed her as her mother. She had no idea who the girl's mother actually was because her file had no family information listed, but Erin was certain it wasn't her. "Sorry sweetie, I'm not your mama," Erin said warmly. "My name is Erin. Can you tell me your name?" Erin wasn't sure what Abigail's language abilities were, but now was as good a time as any to find out.

"Me Abby. You not mama ?" Abigail asked Erin as she started to tear up as she was about to cry. She didn't recognize anything as she looked around desperately searching for her mom to comfort her. Abigail wondered who the lady was since the woman had said she wasn't her mother.

It looked like "Abby" was at least able to form simple sentences, but that was the least of Erin's worries. First, she had to stop the girl from crying. Erin gave Abby a hug and comforted her. "There's nothing to worry about little one, you'll see your mama soon," Erin said soothingly. "You got a big boo-boo on your head, and I'm here to help make it better."

"I wan my mama!" Abigail whined as she started to cry upset that her mom wasn't there to take care of her. She probably wouldn't stop crying until the lady showed her where her mom was. Abigail kept crying as she was feeling very scared and helpless as she wondered if the lady was going to take care of her.
