A Few Special Needs (For Arkady)
It was early afternoon in the world of pokemon. Birds, and a few Pidgeys with a single Pidgeot ahead of them, flew through the sky, tweeting back and fourth to each other. Rattata were wondering the large, grassy fields that were around a day care that looked fine on the outside, but in the inside, two people were kind of having a situation. And it was not a light matter, no, it was about the day-care going out of business due to low budget from constantly having to buy things for pokemon, such as food and a few other things. The owners of the building had eventually thought up of a plan to save their jobs as day-care workers.
It wasn't a nice idea, but it was something that could help them, and a bunch of other pokemon. They were going to have to get rid of special pokemon that had a little more money spent on them for food, and something that they all needed, and that thing was diapers. Lots of them because these pokemon had issues with bladder and bowel control. They never heard the news just to avoid having them become distressed and start moping around the day-care. However, today was the day they would finally be forced to leave due to problems with money. They likely weren't going to like it, but these pokemon were all mature enough to not start throwing a fit over it, and they would also probably understand too.
That would be if these pokemon had the truth told to them, which wasn't the case because the owners decided to tell them that their trainers had abandoned them, and it seemed pretty true because they had all been there for at least a month now with no sign of their trainers return. The two owners also stated to them that they were going to be given a new trainer so they could finally go out into the world again instead of being cooped up inside of a day-care all day. Hopefully, they wouldn't mind having a new trainer too much, but everyone knew their responses to it were going to be different by far...

"I don't like this at all," Edward said. Edward Greene was a distinguished middle aged gentleman who had owned his family's pokémon daycare. He looked out the window and saw a Goodra chasing a Poochyena. The odd thing was that the Goodra was clad in a white disposable diaper with poké ball designs.
The co-owner of the daycare — and his friend — Aedina Verde placed a hand on his shoulders. "Ed, I don't like this anymore than you do."
She pulled out the finance book from the desk the two were seated under. "But we're running deep into the red. Even with our second jobs, we just can't afford to keep those pokémon any longer. Their supplies aren't cheap. We're already behind on rent and taxes as it is. Any longer and we could lose everything."
Edward closed his eyes and sighed. "You're right. I'll go put up the sign."
------------
The man wearily trudged to the front office of the building. In better times, it was constantly packed with trainers and their pokémon. Now it sat empty.
He placed a sign on the window.
Quote:
Three pokémon up for adoption. Please speak to Edward for an interview.
|
-----------
Aedina trudged out to the playground. As if the pokémon understood the gravity of the situation, they immediately stopped playing. Powerlift, the Machoke, immediately stopped doing push-ups and watched.
The woman cleared her throat. "Everyone, I have dreadful news. The 'DD Team' will be leaving here permanently. I need them to follow me inside."
Everyone knew that the "DD Team" was the euphemism used in the daycare for the diapered pokémon.

The two other members that were part of the "DD Team" frowned lightly as they didn't like the sound of that at all. The two pokemon were a Flygon and a Dragonite, both wearing the same diaper as the Goodra that was chasing around the Poochyena. Without a word or a single question, the two dragon pokemon followed her inside of the building, both having depressed feelings in their hearts and very sad looks on their face. It was actually a bit of a surprise that they didn't start crying then and there, so it seemed like they were taking this situation pretty well.
Once inside with Aedina, the first question came out of one of them, and that pokemon was the Flygon, who was a male, "Why do we have to leave? Did we do something wrong that makes you guys not want to keep us anymore, or is it something else that is much worse than that?"

The Goodra entered after the Flygon and Dragonite. The Goodra said nothing but looked downwards, avoiding eye contact with Aedina.
When the three pokémon were inside. Aedina turned to them and spoke.
"We're running very low on money and we've exhausted every other option except this one. I know you've all been here for over a month ever since your trainers abandoned you. The truth is, we can't afford your supplies any longer. And..." She bit her lip to keep from crying. "I'm sorry but...you all have to leave here. Don't worry, I won't simply throw you out the doors. Edward put up signs in hopes that you'll all be adopted by a good trainer."
Aedina closed her eyes as a tear began to form. "I'm sorry I have to do this but I don't have another choice."

The two male dragon-type pokemon stood there in surprise after hearing what she had just said. Flygon's mouth hung open in astonishment at the news while Dragonite simply continued to frown lightly as he stood there next to his friends. Then, the large, orange scaled dragon pokemon then asked her while Flygon seemed to start getting ready to cry seeing how his lower lip began to quiver lightly a bit after he saw a the tear glisten in her eye due to a ray of sun light shining on her face, "I-Is there really no other option for us, Aedina? Can't we just do something that can get enough money for you guys to let us stay?"

"I'm sorry," Aedina said. "But I couldn't find any other options. Though I'll be happy to hear any of them.
Goodra looked up. "How about selling poképuffs, poffins, pokéblocks or berries?" he said.
Aedina sighed. "We can't afford any of the baking supplies or equipment. As for berries, there doesn't seem to be too much of a demand for them."
---------
"So what you're saying is that you wish to adopt the Dragonite?" Edward said. His hands were templed as he looked at the young man across the table.
"Yes, but I don't have—"
Edward sighed. "I'm sorry sir, but this interview is over. You adopt all or none of them. Have a good day."

Dragonite sighed as it really looked like they had no further options to help out the owners of the day-care and get all three of them to stay in there with their other friends. Flygon said as he managed to gain control over his tears and actually seemed to contain a little bit of anger in his voice, "So this is it Aedina? We're just going to have to walk out the door with someone we don't even know? Can you at least get a family member to take us in instead of a complete stranger?"
Truth be told, Flygon wanted someone he could at least trust a little bit because he feared being abandoned again and running down the money for some other day-care. He was also afraid to loose his closest friends if it was to ever come down to him being forced to separate from his other friends all because the new trainer they get thinks that it would be best to keep only one of them. The thought of it actually made him get even angrier was he stared at her.

"Believe me, I tried," Aedina replied with a sigh. "The nearest ones all have their own pokémon to take care of. Some of them refused and some of them are too far away."
Goodra placed a slimy hand on Flygon. "Oh come on, wouldn't it be great to compete in the League? It's something I've always wanted ever since I was a Goomy."
----------
"Next!" Edward called. He sighed as he took a sip of water. Every trainer who came in wanted one of the pokémon but not the others.
A toned young woman sat in the chair. Her pokémon, a Lucario, stood next to her.
"Name," Edward said.
"Samantha Stahl." The woman brushed some hair from her face.
"So why do you want to adopt them?"
"I want to help them grow and become champions."
Edward nodded. "Okay. Now before I continue. I need you to know that it's a all or nothing deal. You adopt all or you go home."
Samantha nodded. "I understand."
The man templed his fingers again. "Now I need to let you know that the trio have a chronic medical condition that requires constant management. It does not affect their battling prowess in any way. I need to know if you can afford and are willing to help manage that condition."
Samantha's face hardened. "I am! Now can I meet the trio?"
"In a moment."

Flygon let out a sigh and decided to drop the attitude in order to avoid making a fool of himself in front of everyone. He then said after the league was mentioned to him, "Yeah, I would really like compete in that just to show off my skill a bit, but I think that will be a little hard for me to do that, especially when I'm walking around with a pamper around my legs the whole time."
Dragonite commented with a light smile on his face, "Well, look on the bright side, when in battle, you won't have to worry about suddenly making a puddle on the ground and making it look like you're very scared, you know?" Flygon stared at his friend with a blush on his face as he thought about how he'd look if that was to ever happen to him. His orange scaled friend then looked at Goodra before saying, "I'm sure we're all eager to get into it, after all, that's what our previous trainers trained us for, so at least now we'll be able to actually battle after so long."

Goodra smirked at Dragonite's quip. "Hey, if you beat them, it makes the victory all the sweeter and more humilating for the opponent!"
He watched as two Machoke got into a wrestling match. Soon, two Makuhita decided to imitate them.
The intercom soon buzzed. "DD Team, please report to the office to meet a potential trainer."
Aedina then turned to them. "Now before you meet the trainer, do any of you need a change?"
Goodra carefully squeezed the crotch of his diaper. He was rewarded with some crinkling and rustling. "I'm dry."
