Ariel debated heavily on whether or not to stop by her library of human things. Ariel eventually decided that a small stop there wouldn't hurt. Except that small stop turned into an hour long look over all the things she had and how she had gotten them. "God I should head back now," Ariel said as she put one of her items and leaving.

Ariel sighed as she reluctantly made her way back home. Ariel silently swam up to the window to her room and slid inside slowly. "Whew, that was close," Ariel lamented as she watched the palace guards swim below.

Attina, one of Ariel's older sisters, her oldest sister knocked on the door, she knew her sister was fascinated by humans, and only one woman came to her mind, and she wanted to chat with her sister.

"Ariel, can we talk?" she asked as she waited outside her sister's room, it was her responsibility as a sister.

"Yeah, of course," Ariel said as she swam to the door and opened it. "Do you need something or did you just come to chat?" Ariel asked Attina with a small grin on her face. Ariel's hair was slightly messed up from swimming but she seemed happy and content

"I know of your fascination with humans, I completely understand it, I was as well, just before I had to start learning about ruling our father's kingdom. I also know why he doesn't want you to go up to the human world, it's not the happiest story, and why you're interested in humans sis" she says.

"I can't help but be fascinated by humans, their world is so interesting," Ariel said as she looked away. "Why am I so interested in humans? Why doesn't father want me to go up there? There's so much we could learn," Ariel said

"Mom, it's because you, me, all of our sisters, we're half human" Attina says as she enters the room and shuts the door behind her, "you cannot tell father I told you, it would make him furious. He hates talking about mom, and why he tried to make me promise not to tell you, he married a human woman he found adrift at sea after an unusually fierce storm" she explains. "One thing led to another, and it got to the point where she had to make a choice, leave behind those she loved on land, or in the sea. She couldn't break your father's heart, so she left the ocean to keep us all safe" Attina says.

"Mom's alive them?" Ariel asked quietly as she sat down on her bed weakly with a small frown. Ariel had grown up her whole life unsure of her mother and her father had certainly never talked about her.

"Mom is, she used seaweed to weave and keep her skills as sharp as a razor clam, she loved us all, your father included, her leaving us was her choice, so I think you should go, find her, and let her know how much we love and miss her, and how much we've grown" she says.

"You want to send me? Father would absolutely murder me if he caught me," Ariel said. "Actually no wait, I'm completely fine with disobeying him so I'll do it," Ariel shrugged.

"Like he could stop me, I followed mom up there, and was with her for nearly a day before I had to sneak back in, and let me tell you, I got an earful when he figured it out a year later, you were still a baby. Besides, I think mom would love to have you back, now scram, the longer you're here the less chance you'll have to get up to mom" she says.
