Changes From a Broken Arm(private)

Tom sulked in his room, glaring at his broken arm. He couldn’t believe it. His mom was making him wear pull-ups because of it! He was 7 years old for crying out loud, a certified big kid! Just ‘cause he couldn’t really use his right arm for a few weeks, didn’t mean he needed to wear pull-ups! Though, his mom knew better than him. He already had enough trouble getting his shorts off in time to go to the bathroom with both of his hands available. Though, he’d never admit that to himself. His mom always treated him like a baby!

His mom couldn’t really be blamed though. He still had a few babyish habits he had yet to kick. For example, bedtime without at least one of his many stuffies nearby and his pacifier was an absolute nightmare. Also up until a few months ago, he still wore actual diapers to bed. Even his big brother treated him a bit like a baby, but he wasn’t as bad as his mom. The boys had always got along very well, with the elder always taking care of and loved looking after Tom, and in turn, Tom adored his big brother and wanted to be just like him.

That’s why his mom felt safe leaving for an extended business trip to deal with a few unruly clients. She made a lot of money and worked long hours, but she always tried to make time for her kids. She didn’t delegate raising her kids to a nanny, but at the times when she had to leave for extended peroid of times for work, she did usually hire a babysitter. At her older son’s insistence though, she didn’t this time. She was a bit reluctant, but her oldest was very mature for his age and independent and wanted to take care of himself and his baby brother. She was reluctant at first, but she trusted him and agreed.

She didn’t expect any troubles from them; they were both good kids and not spoiled despite being raised in luxury. Her friends adored her children for that reason. Many of them owned several homes across the country, and if the boys wanted to come and visit the properties, they were more than welcome. Her friends were not to be made enemies of, or things would go very...poorly for said enemy. That’s why she knew her kids were safe. Nobody would be stupid enough to cross her children while her friends protected them. She tried to keep her kids ignorant of just what exactly her friends did; she wanted them to just think of them as their sweet Uncles and Aunts.

This was it! Finally, nobody could tell him “No”. Heck, nobody could tell him what to eat or when to go to bed! He was the boss, deemed old enough by his mother to be in charge while she went on her latest trip. His excitement was immeasurable. He was most worried about Tom just not listening to him at all. Or Tom telling his mom any number of made up (or likely truthful) stories to get him in trouble when she finally got back...

He shook those thoughts out of his head. At the moment, he was in charge! And his first order was... TV. Which is what the kid was currently sprawled out watching. He was watching some cartoon, legs hanging over the arm of the couch as he looked at the screen, now titled over 90 degrees right due to his position.

The boy had a pair of hazel eyes, the greenish hue complimenting his golden brown hair. The kid always wore a big goofy smile, which just recently he had been informed track would be laid. He wasn’t excited, to say the least. He laid around in a white sleeveless basketball jersey, and a pair of mid-length black athletic shorts. The kid began to doze off however, clearly having stayed up late...

Tom began to grow bored of sulking in his room. With an exaggerated sigh, he walked out of his bedroom, stuffed frog in tow. He had on a pair of blue overalls and a pale yellow t-shirt, and annoyingly, he could hear his pull up rustling underneath his clothes.

He had no plans on misbehaving for his brother or tattling or anything like that. Besides not like the boys were gonna do anything super crazy, that would require adult supervision. He padded into the living room and sat in front of the tv. It was some retro thing that his big bro loved, and since he wanted to be just like him, Tom liked it too. Even if he'd rather watch stuff like Bob the Builder, Sesame Street, or Dragon Tales or something.

He watched the cartoon quietly for a few minutes, until a commercial came on. "I'm bored!" Tom complained, with a pout. The weather was beatiful out, but he wasn't allowed outdoors without someone watching him. He was fine with staying in and playing games or watching tv, but he wanted to do something, cause the little boy was so BORED! He didn't know what he expected the older boy to do about it though.

“Hey Bored, I’m Lucas.” The kid said, in a tone that made it clear he wasn’t overly concerned about it. Still, after a few moments he flipped off the TV, yawned and rubbed his eyes.
“Mmm... okay.” He said, more to himself than Tom. He scratched his head, stood up and stretched.
“Mmm...” he mumbled, nodding walked past his brother and suddenly poking the boy in the cheek as he did. He grinned, leaning down to whisper to Tom.
“Tag.” He said, barely audible. A grin suddenly plastered it’s way onto the boy’s face as he danced out of immediate reach, flying out the glass sliding door and into the backyard without another word!

“Hey Bored, I’m Lucas.” The kid said, in a tone that made it clear he wasn’t overly concerned about it. Still, after a few moments he flipped off the TV, yawned and rubbed his eyes.
“Mmm... okay.” He said, more to himself than Tom. He scratched his head, stood up and stretched.

Tom giggled at the stupid joke. What could he say, he had a thing for corny jokes. He grinned as his brother got up, playing with Lucas was always fun. He stood up from the floor, an eager grin plastered on his face. He never failed to make any game more fun for the both of them.

He giggled again as his brother poked him. "Quit it!" He managed to get through his giggles. He looked interested as Lucas began to crouch down. He laughed again as Lucas ran out the door. Without another moment's thought, he chased after him.

The backyard was well manicured, with fresh cut grass, a swing set for the kids to play on, plenty of open space for them to run around, and their mother's pride and joy, a gorgeous patio that had a grill built into it. Both boys knew to stay away from it when there wasn't an adult with them, especially if they didn't want to end up over their mom's knee. Luckily, there was a gate around it, which,made accidentally running into it almost impossible.

As the kid ran down the steps, bare feet padding on the stones, he jumped and spun around in midair to look at his brother, grinning as he began to jog backwards.
“Cmon, you’re faster than that.” He said, jokingly chastising the boy with a wag of his finger and a forced “stern” look (if you could call it that). Once he stepped off the patio and onto the grass, he sighed happily and began to move quicker once again. That felt better!

He spun back around and ran to some trees. They were large coniferous specimens, so once the boy ducked off behind a patch of them he was out of sight.
“Ah!” Came a few yelps as the boy likely stepped on pine needles and cones, before he went dark. He loved hiding from his brother and messing with the kid...

“Faster than you!” Tom taunted, sticking his tongue out. He laughed at his brother's “stern” face. It looked ridiculous! Only their mom could pull off a scary stern face, it must be a mom thing. He chased him onto the grass, but being mindful of his step, he hated pine needles. Pine needles were the worst! They always got stuck in his foot and were so painful. He cried for 20 minutes the last time he had a pine needle in his foot.

He saw his brother duck behind the trees and followed. His brother was always really good at hiding. When Tom was real little, that used to scare him! He thought Lucas had just disappeared! Now that he was a little older, he knew it was just a game. Still, it was fun pretending to be scared. “Where'd he go? Is he magic or something?” He said in a way over dramatic tone. He began to, obviously fake, cry. “He’s become part of the tree!” He yelled, fighting back a silly grin. “I’ll save you, Lucas!” He went and grabbed a small branch off the ground and began to hit it again the tree. “I’ll chop the evil tree down!” Though he seemed brave now, he could be a bit of a scaredy cat at times. He did not like jump scares! He’d probably pee his pants (pull up in this case) if someone spooked him!

The yard was still, apart from the light breeze which rustled the trees and made the grass flow like currents in the sea. There was silence as Tom appeared, and out on his little scene. In truth, Lucas was laughing to himself in the trees, but he was silent. He clasped a hand over his mouth to keep the silence. Then, he started whacking the tree with the branch!

Lucas began to laugh uncontrollably, using all the noise to slip out of the trees on the other end, back facing the house and with his brother on the other side of them. He crept around the long way, flying up behind his brother and scooping the kid up in his arms.
“Gotcha!” He laughed

Tom couldn’t hear his brother over the sound of wood smacking wood. “I will smite thee!” He proclaimed with melodramatic flare. Suddenly, he felt two hands around his waste, and he was lifted up! “Woah!” He shouted, being caught completely off guard. He sighed in relief as he heard his brother’s voice. It was only a joke.

Now that his heart beat had slowed, he felt a weird warmth coming from his crotch and he noticed a hissing sorta noise. He wondered what it was for only a moment, before realizing what was going on. He felt heat rush to his face, and his cheeks went red. He tried to stem the flow but too little to late. His pull up was soaked! How would he tell his brother about his accident? Maybe he could try and sneak back in and change? It was a long shot at best, besides Lucas had probably heard it and figured out what happened.

“Nice try kiddo, but you’re not getting out.” Lucas laughed, shaking his head as he tilted his brother upside down, blowing a raspberry at him before righting the kid and flopping down on the grass with him. He looked over the kid’s face for a few moments, figuring out what had happened and what was going on. He didn’t say a word about it, just laying on his stomach on the grass and poking at his brother playfully.
“You’re too easy to find.” He teased
