[Cardiac Arrest]

Storyline

It was just another normal school day for two of the less mediocre students who attended a not-so-famous public school in Northwest Pennsylvania. The town surrounding the school was only known for being highly uneventful.

The two students just happened to be in the library at the same time, in look of a good book. Preferably some type of fiction if you had asked them.

The student who was first in the fiction section spotted a strange book that looked quite old. It was enveloped in black leather, and had a large red gem on the center of the front cover. Something seemed slightly off about it. Almost like there was some voice calling out from it, telling the student to glance at the pages.

As the first student grabbed the book and started to open the pages, the second popped up in the fiction section, and greeted themselves to the other one unexpectedly. Startled, the one holding the book dropped it onto the ground, leaving the leather book wide open. Angered and concerned that that the book may have been damaged, the one who took the book started a near-silent quarrel with the other.

As the two argued, a small black portal appeared in the pages of the book. The vortex began to grow, and soon started to pull things into it. In a matter of seconds, the two had stopped arguing long enough to notice that they, too, were being pulled into the portal. There was no time to react, as the portal’s force had already become too great to resist. They were sucked in, blacking out before they could even glimpse their new surroundings.

Several hours passed until one member of the duo recovered. As their vision cleared, they found that their current surroundings were slightly bizarre. Instead of being in the school library as they had been previously, they were now laying side by side in a slightly larger-than-normal crib in a nursery with larger-than-normal furniture. Adding to the strangeness of it all, their clothes had been taken away and replaced with thick diapers that made it impossible to keep their legs together.

Without knowing what else to do, the one who had awoke called out; knowing there had to be someone who took the two of them here. Sure enough, someone walked into the room. It was a woman who looked to be around her mid 30’s who beamed with happiness.

The conscious student demanded an explanation for the position they were in with a few mild profanities, not happy in the slightest. The woman simply smiled, saying, “You’re my babies now.” She then took out what looked like the same book from the library, only with a blue gem on the cover instead of a red one.

As the second student was woken abruptly by the other, the woman explained how the two books worked, drawing in prey to bring to another dimension, and how she used them to draw in her new captives.

There wasn’t much the students could do now. They simply watched as the woman skipped over to a long plaque on the wall labeled Rules and Punishments. She told them that if they went along their lives in their new positions without breaking these rules, she would send them back after some time. As of now, there wasn’t much of a choice but to listen.
