Introduction and Mission Statement

Alright, before I begin to spout off a bunch of arbitrary rules I’d like to first state that this isn’t going to be the common sloppy roleplay that infests this board. In fact I’d go so far as to say that anyone who regularly types like a complete moron need not apply. It may sound mean and it is, I’m tired of seeing a bunch of idiots thinking that badly constructed one sentence posts constitute a good roleplay experience. As the game master I will retain the right to flat out reject anyone I feel like for any reason that I deem necessary, if you get butt hurt about it then that’s really your own prerogative.

This is clearly designed to be a medical roleplay set in the future, the reason I decided to go with this sort of roleplay is that it acts as a blanket setting for a lot of different character types. Genetisplice medical procedures were invented around 2650, this allowed people to alter their genetic structure for better motor skills and brain functions and such. Of course it also allowed a bunch of people to alter their genetic code to add animal like qualities to their DNA, effectively losing their human traits and becoming their own race of human/animal hybrids, in a sense this means that furries and nekos and all those other character types can and do exist and have existed for quite a long time. In fact they are their own species, and can reproduce others of their kind without having to give their children the same genetic splicing.

This is going to be a setting where I will allow the use of diapers and such; it is a hospital after all so I’d imagine quite a few people would need them for some reason or another. However I would rather enjoy it if people were creative about the diaper use, I would rather not have all my players be using diapers because they’re “bedwetters” or “like diapers.” As well I will allow some regressive tendencies, but it should be noted that if you have a regressive personality of any kind you’re probably at CraterTech for their extensive psyche ward. You won’t exactly be viewed as fully committable insane, unless you want to be, but you will be spending your time with people who think that they’re Elvis and a black John F. Kennedy that had part of his brain replaced with sand bags.

While this setting does allow for quite a bit of leeway in the character creation process, it doesn’t allow for general idiocy. That said there are a couple of things to keep in mind while making a character, I’m going to reiterate all this in the rules but I’d like to put it up here as well so people can see why I’m doing it rather than just saying you can’t do it.

CraterTech is an isolated nationless hospital set up in the middle of a crater that has been flooded, as such it has its own sort of military force that do have access to lethal and non-lethal weapons. So coming in with a cyborg ninja or any variant there-of where you would have something stupid like a sword or god knows what else would be an incredibly dumb idea. You would most likely be shot on sight if you arrived on a transport carrying a sword around and looking like you were about to murder some people. Now that doesn’t mean you can’t have weapons at all, there’s an opportunity to become one of the Security Specialists if you really want too, but you’ll most likely not be carrying a gun around unless in an extreme situation. In most cases you’ll be regular security, with a flashlight and a night stick on hand.

Also magic is by no means allowed, this is a world based on our real world, albeit placed far enough into the future that we can speculate some major changes in culture and technology. Magic exists in this world but its pretty much just parlor tricks and illusions, there’s no tangible summoning of magical elements and shit like that. So if you want to play a pretty magical school girl witch sorceress goddess angel then you might want to look somewhere else.

The reason I’m putting up this RP is for fulfillment, a lot of RPs on this board just turn into the same schlock over and over again. Person gets diapered, wets diaper, changes diaper, rinse repeat in an endless cycle that ultimately leads nowhere. That said I’m going to be running this like a Pen and Paper RPG, you’ll have stats and you will be using them as I will be controlling the story like a proper DM. Now that doesn’t mean I’ll be present at all times, I’ll allow general roleplay, but there’s going to be a story happening around you and you’re going to have to react to it sooner or later. Again the mission is fulfillment and to a lesser extent breathing life into the endless monotony that has become this forums RP board.

Rules

I’m basically just going to reiterate the rules that I placed in the introduction, it’s still important to read these though cause it might give you some clarity on what’s allowed and what isn’t.

1) No one liners:

See how much text I just posted, up until this point it took me about twenty minutes to type all that. I’m not saying you have to type a whole page out but for fucks sake at least give me an idea of what your character is feeling or expressing beyond just a smile or a blink. The idea here is introspection, what makes your character tick, how do they internalize what’s happening around them? Roleplaying isn’t just about action and reaction, it’s about feelings, thoughts, ideas, and ideals all mingling together to make up the essence of a single character. And as mundane as the word character sounds it’s a very important word, it’s a word that holds a lot of weight when you think about it, and that’s exactly what I want you to do when you’re posting.

Think about it.

2) No idiots:

If you’re an idiot, then just leave. If you can’t form a coherent sentence or you’ve been confused by some of the multi syllable words I’ve been putting up here then you’re probably one of the idiots I’m talking about. Now with this rule I’m not saying you have to be a Harvard graduate or anything like that, I’m just saying that you need to be able to at the very least have some semblance of grammar and thought in your thick skulls. You don’t have to have perfect precision of the English language, I’m not going to come down on you like a ton of bricks because lord knows I make ten times as many mistakes as anyone. I know it’s hard for the majority of you to think; diapers seem to absorb IQ just as much as they do urine, but for the few that actually have a brain this shouldn’t be rocket science.

3) Non-Human Characters are allowed:

This is pretty self explainitory, as I said before Gentisplice allows someone to pretty much completely change their genetic code to anything they want. It’s been around for a long time and has become a minor procedure so if you’re a non human you don’t necessarily have to have had gentisplice yourself but at some point in your family history for the past two hundred years or so some of your ancestors did get the procedure done. This doesn’t necessarily mean furries and nekos only either, if you want to be something else entirely that’s within the realm of possibility, hell it’s the future, you can be a freaking robot if you wanted too. In fact there are personal android assistants to many of the rich and famous and if you’re at CraterTech as a patient chances are someone in your family is rich and or famous.

There is one caveat to the rule: If it’s Sonic related I will deny it. Find somewhere else to peddle your bad art and horrible Mary Sue character design.

4) No Ninjas or Magic:

Again this should just be something that is ultimately understood, but again I want reiterate. Magic in this world is pretty much card tricks and guys escaping from booths of water, you can’t be a wizard or some stupid shit like that. The same goes for guys with swords, if you carry around a sword in public you’re likely to be shot, end of story. If you really want to be someone who has some combat ability even though this isn’t going to be anywhere near a combat related roleplay then feel free to become one of the security task force.

5) Diapers Diapers Diapers:

Yes this is a diaper roleplay, I would hope not everyone would be in diapers, but this is a hospital setting so there can be a myriad of reasons for you to wear diapers. I’m sure you read the introduction but I’ll stipulate again. I would prefer some creativity, bedwetting is fine but I’m really not going to enjoy this at all if everyone is a fucking bedwetter. As well regressive tendencies are allowed but you’re going to be viewed as slightly off kilter mentally, and would probably have an escort wherever you go, would have to use plastic scissors for arts and crafts, and would have macaroni day on every Friday. In case you’re not getting the hint you’d be a fucking nutter.

6) No Smoking:

Actually a real rule, I didn’t say anything about it in the introduction, but this is a future roleplay. Cigarettes have been replaced by digital nicotine producers, so if you’re addicted to nicotine then you’ll probably have a little metal tube in your pocket that you basically point at your nose which distributes nicotine through your nostrils. It’s more efficient and doesn’t clutter up the streets with paper cigarette butts. This also applies to a lot of drug use, I’m not going to ban drug use exactly, but the conventional ways of using drugs have been replaced mostly by digital producers, the reason being that smoke, and injection are pretty archaic ways of getting your fix, also they’re inefficient and cause internal damage beyond just the damage of the drug.

7) Lets fuck like Rabbits:

We’re all consenting adults here, or at least I would hope that we are. If your character wants to stick his dick in another characters pooper then feel free to take it to personal messages. I’m going to incorporate a ‘fade to black’ mechanic, meaning that if you want to imply that you’ve had sex with someone then you have the opportunity to roleplay going to your room with someone and then when you return to the roleplay time skipping forward to after the point of consummation. So feel free to fall in love, or just feel free to let your penis be your guide.

8) Multithreading:

It stands to reason that we won’t always be together as a group. So for the sake of not having to sort through fifty peoples messages to find one that applies to me I’m going to introduce the Multithreading system:

Basically the post after this one is going to be a link list that links to threads under this setting. Whenever you post a thread, private message me with the link and I’ll edit the post to add it in. If you fail to do this then I reserve the right to declare your whole thread null which means that you did a whole bunch of posting for jack squat. Also when you do post a thread in the RP forum, be a peach and put a tag in front of the thread title like [CraterTech] or [Kanji’sBadassRP]. The former is probably more appropriate than the latter, but you get the idea, something that denotes that its part of this setting.

9) DICE!

This isn’t so much a rule as it is a heads up.

As I stated before there will be stats, and with stats come dice, and with dice come the chance of failure and success based on a percentage. With that said, there will be dice sooner or later. I’m working on seeing about getting dice functionality for the board, if that’s just not in the cards then I’ll see what I can do about finding an online dice roller that allows you to link back here though I’d trust that much less than a forum dice roller. At any rate I’ll think of something that will randomize successes and failures, don’t worry about failure too much though, nothing you do will kill you unless you’re a moron who decides to jump off the side of the building or something.

Character Creation

Character creation can be separated into two subsections. The first is going to be your actual character, the normal deal that you see with all roleplay, how does he look, act, and dress and where the fuck did he come from. The second is going to be an actual system that you’ll apply stat’s too, don’t expect to be some sort of awesome mega super hero, for the most part the numbers represented will be within the range of normal human levels.

-Character Section-

Name - You know what, fuck you if you’re reading this seriously, you know what to do with a fucking name. Jesus do I have to explain everything?
Age Derp
Gender Gender is a little weird in this setting, at one point your character could have very well been the opposite gender. Genetisplice allows you to change your gender as long as you can fork over the cash, so if you feel it’s important to say you were previously a male or female then feel free to put it down here.

Appearance For the love of whatever fucking god spawned you don’t just post a picture and expect me to say “Oh alright you look like Sasuke from Naruto, very well then you’re accepted.” This is important, not only does this show me that you’ve put some thought into how your character looks but it also solidifies what they look like in other people’s minds when you put it down into words. Be as descriptive as possible, generally I can put in about two good paragraphs of appearance without even touching how they dress. Some good questions to ask yourself are: “What shape is their body?” “What shape is their face?” “How does their hair look?” “How do their eyes look?” “What skin tone do they have?” “How smooth is their skin?” “Any scars or tattoos?”

Attire Same as appearance but with clothing. This is the future but no one is wearing one piece shiny jump suits or any shit like that. In fact I subscribe to a Serenity esque view of the future, in that fashion really hasn’t changed much over the years. People still primarily wear the same types of clothing. Still you should be as descriptive as possible, also keep in mind this is more or less more about their fashion sense than one particular outfit. No one in real life wears the exact same outfit day in and day out so instead of saying “Oh they wear a t-shirt and jeans” go into detail about how they prefer simple styles like t-shirts and jeans, the difference being that it’s not just one t-shirt and one pair of jeans.

Personality Everyone’s got one, how do you interact with other people? Are you a goody two shoes air headed bimbo, or are you a right jackass with a dark secret? Again be descriptive, I’m really going to pick at this stuff so if your personality is bland then prepare to have it ripped apart by me. Bland people would be people without any sort of flaw, Mary Sues, so try not to think about the positive ways they interact with people but the negative as well.

History Anything brief is fine, you don’t have to go into some grand spiel. But there’s a reason that you’re the way you are and there’s definitely going to be a reason that you’re at CraterTech. Again try to be descriptive, give me a portrait of your life, make me understand why you’re an utter douchebag in your personality section. This can really go as far back as you want, it can be a quick snapshot of the last couple of weeks or explain where you were born and what you did with your life. Remember this is the future, all the countries are still around but they’ve all pretty much unified for the sake of exploring space and establishing off world colonies. There’s still racism and such, but there’s less war since everyone is pretty much all hands on the lucrative business of space flight.

Stats Put your stats here. Stats are all explained in the next subsection.

Flaws Same as stats, place them here, explained further down. Also note that you only have THREE slots for stats meaning you only get SIX extra points. To drive this in I’m going to put down three slots for you people:

I’m borrowing my system primarily from games like MAID and BESM since it sort of fits with our whole ANIMOO forum, here’s some basics:

Strength Obviously what you’re physical capabilities to life heavy objects.
Dexterity Your reflexes, how fast you can react to something, how accurately you can do something. Basically this is your hand eye coordination.
Constitution Not the document penned by our forefathers. This is your subconscious ability to handle disease and illness, your internal systems at work.
Intelligence Fuck if I know… I’m too stupid.
Wisdom This is more kin to your willpower and common sense than it is your ability to learn or be a book worm. People who are wise tend to be described as ‘street smart.’
Charisma How much people want to bone you, actually this represents a mixture your social abilities as well as your physical attractiveness.

Since you’re normal people we’re going from a 1 to 13 average, 1 being someone who’s completely inept to 13 being someone who’s above average. Most of you probably won’t have any 13s, so don’t worry about it too much. I’m also schewing the system a little bit for dice modifiers since we’re all going to be normal folk here.

You start with 1 in every slot, and you have 48 points to work with meaning that you can very well start with all 9s in every stat. And if you take all three flaws that means you can have at least one 13 somewhere.

Flaws
Flaws are representations of hurdles a character has to deal with every day, statistically this can be considered something that you pretty much have to role-play. In return you get a few extra points to spread around for your character. This isn’t a complete list because fuck if I can be bothered to think of everything that might be wrong with your character, but I have ripped a few from other sources, so if you can think of any then be my guest and post them, I might make them available for other people. All flaws are worth two points in character creation, be advised though that you can only have three flaws though.

Appearance: Samantha was born a Neko, that might be the second thing you notice about her, next to the fact that she is a girl. Samantha isn't exactly.. busty. her breasts are a c - cup, and her ass isnt that large. The right word for her woman like appearence would be.. perky, I suppose. Samantha is 5'11, and 105 pounds. Her hair color is light brown, and it comes down to her shoulders, although most of the time Sam wears her hair in a single pony tail, so that it isnt in the way. Samantha has a lightly tanned skin tone, being of Australian descent. Of course, she doesnt carry that accent around with her. Sam's eyes are dark blue, and she has a small scar on the right side of her stomache, where she donated her liver. Sam's ears are also light brown, just a tad darker than her hair color, and her tail is the same color brown, but it has somewhat of a black jaguar pattern mixed in. Her tail is long, about 3 1/2 feet long, and fairley narrow. Another feature of Sam's is one that very, very few people have seen. (No.. not that..) She has a tatoo on her lower back (Yes, a trampstamp). As a birthday gift from her best friend from college. She got Sam drunk and made her get an embarresing tatoo if her name on Sam's back. This has led to many asking Sam if she was a lesbian, whenever they actually saw the tatoo. The answer was a broken nose.


Attire: Sam's choice of clothing ar limited, since she is apart of CraterTech's Security Specialists. Every morning she is required to put on her normal fitting black cargo pants, a long sleeve black cotten shirt, and a bullet-proof vest over the shirt. Under the bullet-proof vest, she wears a utility belt, that any cop would wear, equiped with a nightstick, flashlight, and for some cases, a tazer. Since Sam is a specialist, that is what she carries, while upper level security officers are able to carry actual firearms and ammunition. Sam also wears a small earpeice that acts as a "walkey talkey' between other officers. Its on a one way line, and cant be changed. The line only connects to other security officers, and the main dispatch line at the CraterTech Security Headquaters. Sam also wears black leather cloves, and black combat boots. And of course, with all of Samantha's attire, there is a small hole specially cut out in all of her pants and underwear, for her long narrow tail.


Personality: Sam was raised to be strong. She has been a tomboy all her life, which is the reason she is a security officer. Sam would rather go exploring the Outback with the boys than play dolls with the girls. This led to Sam being called a whore, due to her hanging around boys all the time, but truth be told, nothing ever happened! Sam, most of the time, is a no-nonsense, carefull, caution-taker. She plays by the rules, and expects others to also. I wouldn't say Sam is a bitch, but she can come off as one if you dont exatly know her. but Sam's main goal is to help people, and keep the residents of CraterTech safe. If you are to treat Sam with respect, you will have a friend, and she will treat you with respect, but cross Sam once, and she will wtach you like a hawk. Samantha is infact bi-curious, not getting to know much about the same sex as much as the opposite, basiclly she has spent her life with more boys than girls, and now they sort of.. bore her. This is a secret she will keep until death, of course. The thing that would piss Sam off worst, would be a reckless jackass who she would have to train, or take care of. The main flaw to Sam's personality is that she is a strict, more than meets the eye, woman. And with many secrets, she isnt open to share any. She is just here to serve and protect the residents of CraterTech, and not much else.


History: Samantha Paige Sykes was born to Sam and Mindie Sykes. Yes, Sam is her dad. He wanted a boy, and no matter what, his baby would be named Sam, which works out, for it is a cross-gender name. They were a lower middle class family living in Melbourne, Australia. Samantha was a straight A student, and even went on to study criminal justice at the University of Sydney. Samantha graduated at age 21, and for half a year decided to go on a half a year peace core mission to Somalia, but had to cut that mission short after almost being killed by a local gang. After the news of CraterTech opening up, Sam immediatley rushed over, spending all the money she had left to her name on the transport tickets. Once she was accepted, Sam began basic training, which lasted 3 months, and then took another 5 month training session that put her at a security specialist, rather than just a transport operator, or nightwatch peon. Sam's goal is to get to the top of CraterTech's securtiy chain of command, buy herself a nice place with a veiw, and supervise all of CraterTech's security assests. The more she can keep safe, the better Sam feels.

Flaw: 1.) Sam lost a hand in a training excersize, her parents were able to afford to buy her a new robotic hand. No, it doesnt have an uber mega power machine gun for a hand, its an ordinary, regular functioning hand. Sam's parents could afford the uber mega power machine gun hand..

Flaw: 2.) Samantha isnt very social. And it takes a long time, or a lot of chocolate to get on her goodside. Not saying she is a complete douchebag, but she has other things to attend to, rather than mingling with her friends.

Flaw: 3.) Samantha can be a little too strict. Following the rules in her book, is the best thing a person can do, and if you dont follow the rules, Sam will make sure you do.

Its nice that you have measurements and such but it doesn't really do much for me. Maybe you could say something like "her slender tail extends to about her ankles in length." Really you kinda need to go over all the measurements and kind of paint a picture of what she looks like rather than just giving me measurements.

Most of this could be transposed into the history section, the appearance is kind of a part of her history but it shouldn't necissarily be comprised of her history. Also what is the name on the tattoo, I know it says her friends name, but it might be nice to just know her name. As far as the rest of the bio goes, its pretty basic, I mean it works and I really have no problems with it other than some minor nitpicking but there's a lot of room for improvement. Really its just all the measurements and short descriptions of various parts of her body that's bugging me, it just doesn't give much imagery.

This is all great, actually its a fitting uniform for the security specialists, I know I didn't put a lot of fluff in but it works fine. Kinda the idea I had for them anyway. At any rate, having her uniform is all well and good but certainly she's not on the clock at all hours of the day? What does she like to wear when she's off the clock, what's her fashion style like? Is she super casual, girly girl, punk?

What's with this first person stuff in all these fields. Its kinda breaking the flow. You might phrase it like "Sam can come across as a bitch, though people who know her tend to think otherwise."

As for the rest of it, it's okay. I'm noticing a lot of weirdness in the way you type though, I'm sure its just me being nitpicky though. I do have to say that you might want to run back through this whole bio and edit it, cause there are a lot of errors and typos. Samantha graduated at age 21, and for half a year decided to go on a half a year peace core mission to Somalia, but had to cut that mission short after almost being killed by a local gang. After the news of CraterTech opening up, Sam immediatley rushed over, spending all the money she had left to her name on the transport tickets. Once she was accepted, Sam began basic training, which lasted 3 months, and then took another 5 month training session that put her at a security specialist, rather than just a transport operator, or nightwatch peon. Sam's goal is to get to the top of CraterTech's securtiy chain of command, buy herself a nice place with a veiw, and supervise all of CraterTech's security assests. The more she can keep safe, the better Sam feels.

All in all an okay bio, its missing a lot of information though according to your appearance and flaws. Like, how did she lose her hand? You said she lost it during a training session, but what exactly happened to make her lose it? Why isn't she very social, was it peoples views of her being a tomboy? Its things like that that would really add depth to the character.

Also I noticed that the history is one big block of text, you might separate it out a little bit for ease of reading.

You might want to put what these flaws are, I know the first flaw is missing appendage, and the second is antisocial, but it would make it easier for everyone if you put the name of the flaw you took.

The third flaw isn't really something I would consider a flaw, it seems like more of her personality than something that she has to contend with. Being a strict person isn't really a socially crippling stigma, you don't see drill instructors silently cursing their own strictness, faced with the horror of their choice to be a drill instructor. Just throwing that out there.

Don't feel like you NEED to take three flaws, flaws are just there to add some depth to the characters and to give you some extra points for stats if you really wanted them. And speaking of stats we move on to the final round:

By my calculations you have exactly 48 points which is good. Remember though that you do have 4 more flaw points to work into the stats as well due to the flaws you took. Unless you just want to waste them? Or if you want to wait I'm still kinda tweaking with the system so there might be other places you can put them.

Appearance Leo is tall for his age, with a thin, better described as ‘scrawny’, figure. He has a tendency to walk on all four, if he is frightend.
His body is covered with a very thin and smooth fur, which is coloured grey. His hair is black and of medium length, it is very thick and stringy.
His hands are similar to a paw, but also include very sharp claws.
His face is composed of delicately chiselled features, with a small chin. His eyes are yellow. His teeth are those of a wolf, which are often presented by a grinning Leo.

Attire Leo does not like cloth, he tends to throw it away or rip it apart. Because of this, he is mostly dressed in shimmies, (because of the paw, he can’t open it), and pants, which are maid of canvas, he has no problems with the rough material because of his fur.
His hands are covered with thick mittens, because he likes to suck his fingers, which can cause injuries due to his claws.
He is actually equipped with diaper and plastic pants.
He never wears shoes, or anything comparable. He always runs around barefoot.
Another feature is of his attire is a collar, which he wears. A plate on it says: “Patient Leonard Hund, if found outside the psychiatric ward, please contact the board.”

Personality Leo is good natured, loyal, obedient and kind, those are all qualities of a good dog. He tends to be clinging, if he likes someone, going so far, that he can become an annoyance.
Leo is intelligent, a fact, many people oversee. This can be seen in situations, like confinement to his room, where he can easily escape, or when he tries to argue about his believe to be a dog. But due to his conditions, he sometimes ignores his intellect and plays dumb.
He bites, when threatened.

History Born to pretty wealthy parents, who decided that he should undergo a genetic change when he was ten years old, simply because it was seen as ‘fancy’ in their circle of acquaintances. Because they were pretty busy, the dog boy was left alone most of this time and so, the only living animal he had real contact with, was the old female dog of the family, Laika. Laika did adopt Leo, who could identify very well with her and saw her as his mother rather than his parents. With the time, he took over more and more of the traits of a dog.
When put to school, he managed for a certain time, to live in both worlds, at home as Laika’s cub, in school as Leo Hund. But then the tragedy happened: While playing with his ‘adoptive mother’ outside, the dog was overrun by a car. This caused Leo to have a mental break down. He became more and more dog like, and change more and more into the cub Leo, a little kind dog, who was not even house trained.
Although he can talks, and does this frequently, for him it is a given fact to be a dog,and shows this in his behavior.
At this point, his overstrained parents decided to bring hi to Crater Tech, where he was committed to the psychiatric ward.

• He believes to be a dog, think of all the problems this brings with him.
• He is hydrophobic .
