World War D (Private)
(I'm terrible at titles, sorry...)
Sarah was awake before her alarm went off, a buzz of excitement in the air. It was day one, her first deployment. Amongst thirty other recruits, they were going to start the process pf taking back Chicago. And she was ready to kick some Zed ass.
There were two people who would be piloting the S-8.2 Model Hunter mechs. The smallest of the Mark 1 line, whopping in at just under 3 Meters tall, but easily the quickest and most flexible design. She hadn't met the pilot she'd be running point with, but she had heard good things about them.
Strolling to the mess hall to get some breakfast, she grabbed her food and looked around for the table where she'd be meeting the other pilots.

Private James Almaya adjusted his ACU to make sure everything was squared away. He looked in the mirror and frowned as a small strand of black hair found its way to his glasses. A quick flick of the finger later, his glasses were now spot free.
He exited his room and went to the mess hall where he stood in line for breakfast.

Same shit, different day. Samantha would think to herself as she laid in her bunk, gazing lazily up at the ceiling. She'd just been awoken by her alarm, and was dreading the mission to come. Fearful of how many of them wouldn't come back from the operation, or if the operation was even successful. Did that mean she would run? Of course not, she wasn't afraid of dying, Samantha was afraid of failure, of failing her mission so badly that people got killed. She didn't want someone elses blood on her hands, didn't want to live with that the rest of her life.
Regardless, laying there thinking about it wasn't going to change anything, she had to suck it up and just do her job to the best of her ability, and this day was going to start off with a damn big breakfast.
--------------
It didn't take long for Samantha to get through her morning routine, showered and all that jazz, and before long she was down in the mess hall getting breakfast. After loading up her plate, she'd make her way to her designated table, spotting a girl she'd not seen before already sitting there. Smiling lightly at the other woman, Samantha would greet her with a simple 'Morning.' before sitting down and beginning to eat. Despite being on edge, the veteran pilot seemed rather calm and collected all things considered.

The new girl beamed at the veteran, scooting over a bit. "You must be Samantha? Oh my god, it's such an honor. You're legendary. Is it true you killed seven category four Zed on your first run?" She asked, feeling herself in the shadow of her personal hero. "I'm Sarah, I'll be watching your back today."
Fidgeting a bit, she ate in small occasional bitefuls. Finally, she confessed, "I'm kind of nervous..." hoping that Samantha wouldn't look down on her. Her first mission was a pretty big deal, she didn't want to screw it up for everyone. After all, she only barely squeaked in on account of her technical knowledge, she was not confident in her actual piloting skills.

Samantha couldn't help but chuckle at the girl's enthusiasm. It was flattering, really, especially considering that Samantha never believed herself anything special, just a pilot that had been lucky enough to survive to this point and had been around the block enough times to know how to increase her odds of not getting killed. "Well...sorta, it's a long story." She would say in reply to the whole 7 category 4 zed ordeal. When the girl introduced herself as Sarah, Samantha would extend a hand across the table for a handshake, smiling warmly. "Well it's a pleasure to meet you Sarah, and I look forward to working with you."
That last bit was a lie really, Samantha dreaded working with rookies, not because of their lack of skill, everyone had to start somewhere after all, but because if any of them ever got killed she herself felt responsible. You'll just have to keep a close eye on her, teach her the ropes and hope she catches on damn quick. When Sarah mentioned she was nervous, Sam would smirk lightly as she ate, not looking down on her at all in fact. "I'd be concerned if you weren't nervous hun." She would say after swallowing a bite of her food. "I was shaking in my boots before my first mission, literally. My first tip to you is to eat heartily, no telling when we'll get a break out on the field."

Sarah listened to Samantha's advice, eating it up more than she was eating up her actual food. (Until, of course, the tip about eating. She began scarfing it down at this point.) "Well I won't let you down, I promise," she reassured.
Hopefully, Sarah thought, she won't find out I asked to be assigned with her. Sarah had jumped through a lot of hoops and cashed in all her favors to be set up fighting alongside her personal idol of a pilot. It would be a bit embarrassing for Samantha to find out though, of course.
Just then, a loud buzzer rang out. Sarah almost immediately was too her feet, anxiety and eagerness on her face. "Time to suit up!" She said with a shaky smile.

Fortunately by the time the buzzer went off, Samantha had scarfed down the majority of what was on her plate. Of course unlike Sarah whom had jumped up immediately, Samantha took a few extra seconds to take a few big bites. When she got her fill she too would get up from her seat, nodding towards Sarah. "Lets get to it then." The woman would comment as she motioned towards the exit, content to follow along behind Sarah if she was already heading that way. As they were enroute to the hangers, Samantha couldn't help but let out an apprehensive sigh, she was nervous, but for the sake of her new rookie wingman she kept that calm and collected demeanor. Morale was an important thing, and the more experienced pilots kept their cool, the rookie ones were more likely to keep their's as well.

The prep room for the two S-8.2 pilots resembled a locker room. In fact, it was a locker room. They had built the facility out of what had once been a large boarding school, not having the time to just build something new.
Across from each other, two suits sat hanging from the wall. Sleek, black rubber covered in metal plates, occasional wires poking out here and there where the electronics ran. It had a zipper in the back running from the collar down to the base of the spine where the user would step in.
Next to the suit, there was a black helmet which resembled a motorcycle helmet, and a large, white folded piece of a plasticy material.
Sarah, this being her first time suiting up for real, neither removed her clothes nor started putting on her uniform properly, instead beginning to immediately step into the suit.

Samantha would watch as her new rookie wingman immediately went to the black suit and began to put it on, with the clothes she was wearing still on! She couldn't help but shake her head, chuckling lightly before going forward and shaking her head. "Hold up there kiddo, slow down, you're not going to wanna mess up changing into your uniform, trust me." The veteran would reach over and grab the folded up bit of material that belonged to Sarah. "You want to be nude under the suit, the rubber is a special type that is a bit more breathable then normal, but if you wear something under it you'll sweat your ass off in a heartbeat. Only thing you should wear under it is this..." At saying that, Samantha would unfold the material in her hand, revealing it to be a rather thick disposable diaper. "Silly I know, but they rushed the creation of these damn suits so badly that the dolts didn't install any sort of waste management systems in them, and since we're recon, we tend to operate longer in the field then the other units, and trust me when I say you don't want to piss on yourself inside the mech and stew in it for half a day. If only I could repress that memory... Samantha would think to herself as she held out the diaper to her wingman, trying to save her from a mistake Samantha herself had once made way back when.

Sarah blushed a bit, nodding. She had heard about this, of course, but she assumed it was a joke or some kind of threat. The drill officer already called them maggots and worms, she just thought babies was another term of insult.
Unbuttoning her shirt, she realized something else: she would get to see Samantha naked. Hells yeah! Trying not to seem excited, stare, or shake at all while she pulled off her shirt, she still couldn't help but continue glancing up a lot.
Accepting the diaper, she commented, "So have you ever actually had to use one of these? It's not like a frequent thing, is it?" She wouldn't actually NEED it, would she? Tugging off her boots and slipping off her pants, all she had left to do was un clasp her bra and remove her panties, while not staring too much as Samantha did the same.
Picking up the diaper again, she looked at it. Okay... goes like... This? Holding it in place with one hand she began taping it on. Backwards.
