Going Back (Private between me and Sabo-Chan)

Josh walked through the park, pushing a blue stroller and carrying a diaper bag across his shoulder. He had just finished work and picked up his son from daycare and decided to take him to the park before heading back home for dinner.

Elliot was on a park bench, shaking with a small blanket and a teddy bear under his arm. He rubbed his eyes and sat up. He was having trouble sleeping so he looked tired and a mess since he was out in the park for days.

As Josh pushed the stroller towards the play ground he noticed a boy sitting on the bench. His clothes looked tattered, he didn't look very clean and he looked tired. He continued to push the stroller towards the bench and sat down, taking his diaper bag off his shoulder and grabbing a bottle for his son, Benjamin. He looked over at the boy as he grabbed the bottle, giving it to Benjamin, who drank it happily, and looked at the bear. "Are you OK, there?" He asked, grabbing an apple from the bag and handing it to the boy.

Elliot looked at the apple and reached out to it instinctively but hesitated for a moment. He looked up at Josh. "Um...yeah, I'm a little lost" he said, him stomach grumbling. He took the apple and took a bite out of it, smiling.

He smiled as the boy took the apple and ate it. "How come you're lost?" He asked, looking in at the stroller, making sure Benjamin was OK.

Benjamin drank his bottle and smiled when he saw Josh poke his head into the stroller.

He smiled at Bejamin seein him but looked up, thinking back. "I ran away and kept running, but now" he sighed, "I don't know where I ran to" he said, taking some more bites out of the apple.

Josh looked at the boy, feeling bad for him. "Hey, my car's just down the road. Do you need a place to stay?" He asked, taking the empty bottle from Benjamin and placing it in the bag. He then grabbed a slice of apple and handed it to Benjamin

Benjamin nibbled on the apple, smiling at Elliot and going back to his apple.

Elliot looked at Josh surprised. Then he smiled, "Yeah, that'd be great" he said, getting up with his blanket and bear.

Josh smiled at Elliot's comfort items and pushed the stroller towards the car. He smiled as he looked at Elliot, admiring his blanket and bear. "How long have you had those then?" He asked, approaching the car and placing Benjamin in his car seat.

Benjamin began to squirm and wine as Josh placed him in his car seat "Park! Park!" He whined at Josh. Josh looked at Benjamin and smiled. "Sorry buddy but we're gonna take Elliot back home. We'll go tomorrow, OK?" He said, smiling as Benjamin nodded and smiled at Elliot.

Elliot looked down at his things and smiled, "Ever since I can remember I've had these" he said, getting in the car.
