question from a friend
Ok so a friend of mine wants to get into the whole AB/DL scene but isn't sure what kind of diapers to get. she has plenty of money so expense isn't a issue but she would prefer not to go to over board. she say's she's a medium wetter and a light to medium messer. she would like them to be snug and not to bulky if possible. prints are a plus but not required and she was hoping to fine ones that aren't white if possible but its not a deal breaker.
she was also looking for a good adult pacifier. she's a bitter apparently so she'd need a sturdy one.
any help would be appreciated.

Okay, SO! IF you're looking for good starter stuff, have her snag some stuff from ABU or bambino diapers! They do sample packs, so you can mix and match and figure out which of each brand she likes!
As for pacifiers, Pacifiers R Us is a really good, reputable online retailer. They do lots of custom stuff, and lots of generic stuff. They have premade packs, make your own pacifiers, etc.
Amazon also often has nuk 5s and nuk 6s, though biting will ALWAYS be an issue no matter what brand pacifier you get, so keep that in mind.
GOOD LUUUCK!

Molicare is a wonderful premium diaper. It's not ultra thick, has a pink shell, and great capacity. However, it is not friendly with readjusting tabs, so maybe not the best idea.
Abena M4s are a really good premium diaper, but they're pretty bulky, and again, not very friendly with readjusting tabs.
(Both of these tabs will pretty much rip the shell when removed)
---------------
Cushies are a nice printed diaper, pretty friendly when it comes to readjusting tabs, capacity is okay, a little bulky from my memory, and though they are white, they've got a nice print on them to break up the mundane white scheme diaper.
Bambinos produce excellent diapers, however they are probably "going overboard" since they're really bulky.
Same thing goes with ABUniverse's new space diapers, probably going overboard, though I've heard nothing but positive feedback.
------------
While I've never tried them, I think Tena might be a good match for your friend.
They're not a top tier diaper, so they shouldn't be incredibly thick or going overboard, though I can't speak from personal experience there.
As for pacifiers, I don't really know much about what's good and what isn't since I never got into it =/ Only name I hear when pacifiers roll around is some brand called "NUK" which might be a good idea to look into, but that's about all I can offer.

Keep in mind that if your worried about leaking that normal day diapers hold less then over night ones. if you would prefer to use normal day ones though (less bulk) then i would reccomend looking at the pinned "Leak Guide" : http://diaperedanime.com/forum/showt...541/index.html
if you havent already.

Well if money really is no object then I'd suggest that your friend go all out and do what thingywhat did and purchase a fancy adult AIO (All In One - Diaper and waterproof cover) cloth diaper. The ones that he purchased were Dependco brand -> http://dependeco-adult-diapers.com/c...php?category=1 As you can see in their online catalog, the cover part of the diaper comes in many colors to choose from (Not just white) along with different kinds of prints. They are pretty pricey at around $33 to $40 a diaper. Not only are they contour shaped with elastic at the legs and back (To snugly hug one's body), they by nature being cloth would be softer than any disposable diaper that anyone will ever find. With disposables, one is limited to as much (or little) softener that the manufacturer has already added to the synthetic material inside the diaper but one can always add more softener to each subsequent washing of a cloth diaper insert that is to be used inside an AIO cloth diaper!

Not sure if she'd go for cloth ones to be honest. she's not the most...thrilled when it comes to washing cloths since she tends to mess up. I can tell her though ^.^

Washing soiled cloth diapers shouldn't be that big of a deal (It really isn't) especially if she is washing her own mess (If your friend usually wipes her own butt whenever she finishes pooping in the toilet then she shouldn't have a problem with cleaning off her own mess in a cloth diaper). Normally, the majority of the "soil" can be shaked out into the toilet. Then the cloth diaper can be rinsed out in a bathtub sink or powerful shower head under cold running water (Hold the diaper parallel to the water flow to carry out the little particles of poop. Do not hold the diaper perpendicular to the water flow because the particles will spray out everywhere!) and then when cleared of any remaining particles of poop, it can be tossed directly into the washing machine along with a normal load of laundry under a hot wash cycle (It MUST BE A HOT WASH cycle - Only a hot wash will kill any bacteria). If she is going to mess a few diapers before "laundry day" then she could store the rinsed out diapers (Be sure that she rings out as much liquid from the diaper as possible so that it does not drip. It should not be completely dry otherwise staining may occur over time.) in a cloth diaper wet bag prior to "laundry day". When washed, hang the cloth diapers on a clothes line to air dry or put them in a dryer under the "Tumble dry" (No heat) cycle.
