Appearance: Sammi is of average size, but overweight. She is somewhat insecure about this, and tends to wear comfortable sweaters and jeans in an attempt to cover it up, as well as a belt of some sort. Her hair is quite long, and she usually wears it down, only putting it up during formal events and such. Her choice of shoes outside the house are usually sneakers or tennis shoes, and inside she will wear only socks or slippers.
History: Maria Samantha Jeane Martinet--aka Sammi, was born to what was mostly a happy, normal family. Her father was a somewhat conservative beat cop, and despite his lower rank he had an extreme sense of duty and morality which he would attempt to instill in his only daughter. He went about it with a sort of gruff gentleness, which would result in her feeling corporal punishment was more of a last resort, but children must always be respectful of their elders, and the chain of command must be obeyed at almost any cost. Her mother was a rather stereotypical homemaker who was always very supportive of Sammi as she grew up. Sammi's life was mostly normal--though when she hit her teens, she began to gain a bit more weight, which resulted in concern from her mother, and a bit of teasing from her father. Of course, her father was only trying to help as he knew how, but the teasing would leave Sammi a bit sensitive about her weight, despite usually turning to snacks to comfort herself. This left her body in a state of flux, hovering around the same general weight for years, moving back and forth by only a few pounds. Aside from the teasing, however, her relationship with her family remained strong, and they even scraped up what money they could to send her to college, where she graduated with an MD in child psychology. Attempting to find a job as a social worker of some sort, she found herself at the door of Quinn's.
Personality: Sammi is quite gentle-spirited, preferring to talk things out rather than use violence or force. She's also very affectionate, having grown-up in an affectionate, mostly happy home. She also adores children. This may be a result of having grown up an only child without any brothers or sisters, or any young cousins, nieces or nephews. She is, however, very serious about respect and obedience, and believes children must always be respectful of their elders, and follow the rules as best they can. Despite her good nature, she tends to be a little lazy at times--quite happy to nap on a couch or oversleep in bed. She does not smoke, but occasionally will help herself to a drink or two. Her greatest vice, however, is undoubtedly snacking, or even eating in general. She loves to cook, as well, but she is unfortunately not a very good cook, much to her dismay. She loves to read, but prefers to watch a good soap opera or movie.
School: Sammi performed well in school overall, and graduated from her local State University in the top thirty of her class. She has some trouble with math, but will brute-force her way through it if she must.
Interests/Hobbies: Her greatest vices are undoubtedly snacking and reading steamy romance novels. She loves to cook, as well, but she is unfortunately not a very good cook, much to her dismay. She loves to read other stuff besides Harlequin dreck, but prefers to watch a good soap opera or movie.
Misc:
Sammi's favorite food is grilled cheese sandwiches. This may be because it's one of the few things she can cook very well, and one of the first things she learned how to cook.
Despite being a bit overweight, Sammi is a lightweight drinker, getting buzzed off only a glass or two.
