A King's Game ~Me and Halibug~

[Lovely Thyme]

Though it was only ten o'clock, the day had already been very busy for one Sebastian Michaelis. There had been breakfast meetings, brunch meetings and post meeting meetings throughout the morning. Of course, that was to be expected if you were the king of hell. Satan had his paperwork also.

Currently, the royal demon was sitting in his study looking over preparations for the gala he was throwing his lovely mate for his birthday. With a small smile, Sebastian thought about how much his mate loved to dance. Vincent was very light on his feet. Before he could get too lost in his thoughts, a knock sounded at his study door.

"Enter." The door opened to reveal a servant with their eyes downcast as was required when speaking to the higher class.

"Your highness, it is now ten o'clock. You've told me to alert you so that you may-" Sebastian cut the man off there and stood.

"Yes, thank you. You are dismissed." The servant scurried off to do other things. Sebastian rubbed his face to wake himself up some. It was getting closer to Vincent's birthday so he had decided to let his mate and children sleep in some. He wasn't sure if his children would take the time to sleep, but his lover very much needed it.

The reason Sebastian had told the servant to get him was so that the lord could check on his wife and children. If Vincent was asleep still, he would take the kids to keep them occupied so his lover could sleep.

It didn't take long for the handsome man to reach his bedroom door. He opened it quietly, not wanting to wake Vincent if he was still sleeping.

When Sebastian opened his bedroom door, there was sight of Vincent resting in their bed. Beside him were their children. Ciel and Luka were both curled into their mother, though the two were awake. They had been waiting for their mother to wake up, though the man had yet to do so yet. Still, the boys had been quiet, only waiting patiently.

When the door opened, Ciel looked toward his father. The boy grew a large smile, though out of consideration for his slumbering mother, he stayed quiet, only climbing off the bed carefully and walking toward Sebastian.

Luka smiled brightly at his father when he saw the man come in. The younger twin was very energetic and so he didn't think about his mother's rest. The little boy squealed and jumped onto the floor. He sprinted at his father eagerly.

Sebastian chuckled and caught his little boy without trouble. Though his children had started to develop their demon abilities, he was much faster. The king hushed his youngest child before picking up Ciel.

"How long have you two been awake?" he asked, peeking at his lover to see if he had woken up.

Ciel let out a quiet laugh when Luka was caught by their father. Ciel raised his arms toward the demon just before he was lifted as well. Ciel shrugged at his father's question. He hadn't been paying attention to the time when he woke.

When Sebastian glanced over to Vincent, Ciel turned and gazed at his mother, hoping the other hadn't woken. Luckily, he hadn't. Ciel felt a bit relieved, though truly just wanted to leave the room so he could be as playful as he'd like without worrying about waking his mother.

Sebastian smiled when he saw that Vincent was still sleeping before walking out of the room. His lover could sleep for a while longer. The man closed the door behind him and started carrying his boys somewhere where they could run around.

"We'll let your mother sleep in for the next few days. His birthday is almost here." he told his children.

Luka clapped excitedly and bounced in his father's arms. He loved parties! The little boy was also excited to give his mother a present. He loved his mommy.

"How old is mommy going to be?" Ciel asked. Ages for demons were much different than humans, with humans needing to be much older until they were mature. Ciel and Luka were still very immature for demons, having quite a ways to go until they would be considered fully grown. Ciel couldn't wait to grow up so that he could be like his daddy, who was always so strong to him.

"Your mother will be turning seven hundred and sixty three." Sebastian told his young children. His little boys were only in double digits so they were very much considered babies. His twins were much brighter than other children their age, though.

"Me and Ciel are sixty three, Daddy!" Luka said excitedly. Sebastian chuckled and nodded in agreement.

"That is true, love. Now, what would you like for breakfast?"

Ciel laughed along with his father when his twin announced their age. They were still very young for demons. Ciel often wondered what age they would be when his parents recognized them as mature so he could learn how to be more like Sebastian.

"Daddy, can we make mommy a special breakfast?" Ciel asked when Sebastian asked them what they wanted for breakfast. "He's sleepy and it's almost his birthday."

Sebastian thought about what Ciel had suggested. His lover would be quite happy to wake up to a breakfast made by their precious treasures. He was sure their boys would also find great pleasure in giving their mother something they made.

"I believe that would be wonderful. Perhaps we could even make your mother a cake?" The cake would be small because the one that would be at the party was going to be very large. This cake would be like an early birthday cake from the boys just for their bearer.

As he walked through the hallways to the kitchens, all servants bowed and scurried out of the way. They all knew their king did not like to be disturbed when with his children or mate. Though Sebastian would never punish them for accidentally stepping in his way, he would find it quite irritating.

"Yay, a cake!" Ciel exclaimed happily. The twins and Vincent had made cakes together before, but Sebastian had never had the opportunity to make a cake with the boys, as it was usually Vincent and the twins making a cake for Sebastian instead of the other way around. Ciel was excited to be able to do something like this with his father and brother, as well as doing something nice for his mother.

As they walked toward the kitchen, Ciel ranted and raved over what kinds of cakes they could make. Ciel wanted to make sure his mother would like whatever flavor of cake they made, so he was sure to run his ideas over with Sebastian first.
