Babysitting A Beast

Slowly. Two men walked very slowly up to a creature that they had been tasked to find and bring back for experiments. Not kill, of course. They had to keep it alive for them to make a profit off of this.

"Is that the thing?" one of the men asked as he hid behind a tree.

"It's got to be." the other said. "There's nothing else around here that looks anything like that thing."

The first man nodded and the tie creeped closer, waiting for a chance to strike when they could, hoping that the thing was no a dangerous entity.

The tan and white furred beast seemed a little more focus on trying to get something from a tree. It tail swayed around gently, meaning it wasn't agitated or anything. While it's four ears did occasionally twitch, it never turned around as it attempted to climb the tree. Unfortunately, it weighed too much for its claws to support it's weight with climbing, so to no ones surprise, it fell at least twice before grumbling. Then it suddenly reared its head back before opening its mouth and having its long tongue suddenly shoot out and grab whatever it was trying to get in the first place, which was a simple fruit. At that point, it smiled and turned around, it hadn't exactly been expecting some people to come by to capture it or anything.

"That's thing seems...odd." one of the men said as he got out a crossbow, ready to attack should the beast decide that it needed to kill or something.

"Certainly. Not exactly hostile yet, but we can't be too sure." the other man said as he prepared some rope and a small dagger. They planned to capture the beast and not kill it, but not at the expense of their own lives. If they had to, they were completely wiling to kill it to save themselves. Although, it didn't seem like they would need to do that.

The first man closed the distance and presented himself to the beast. He brought out his crossbow and pointed it right at the beast. "Stay there! Don't move!" he yelled.

The other man appeared as well with the rope. He slowly walked towards the beast to try and capture it. He would tie the rope around his neck and slowly get him back to where they needed to go.

Well, the creature certainly hadn't expected someone to suddenly start yelling at it. Turning to the first man with with the fruit still in hand, it simply stared at him and that crossbow. It didn't do anything that serious. It did start back away though after dropping the fruit. It wouldn't be much longer before it suddenly felt a rope around its neck, causing it to freeze and try to turn to the other guy behind it.

It didn't have to see the guy before it started tugging at the rope in an attempt to get it off or at least loosen it because the thing was uncomfortable. Not to mention that it had actually started whimpering too out of fear. It hadn't started doing anything drastic yet.

The first man smirked. "Alright, we got him. That was easy, but we shouldn't let our guards down just yet. Who knows what that thing can do. At any moment it might go ballistic."

"I know." the other man said as he began tugging the rope in a direction to get the beast to follow it. "Alright, I'm going to make this clear. We are going back to a guild. We'll then drop you off so you can be experimented on. If you follow everything we say for you to do, you'll get through this without much pain."

He began to walk with the first man and the beast in tow. "Certainly an easy job so far. I hope that we get a good reward from doing this."

Well, this certainly was no fun at all. Having a rope bound around your neck and then getting tugged along by some guys who clearly had no regard for your safety was a pretty scary scenario, especially since you had zero clue on why this was happening. It followed after them though, but it did keep scratching at the rope as the wince was digging into its skin and causing an unbearable itch.

Both men eventually brought it to a building. This building didn't look safe at all and in fact had a very terrifying demeanor.

"Alright, let's go in and give this beast to the person who wanted it. Have to wonder what they're going to do...oh well. Not our problem. We accomplished what we needed to do and we're gonna get out reward." the second man said as he began to walk into the building, dragging the beast along,

Now the creature wasn't moving, it instead just held its ground, not caring if the rope was grinding against its skin. For something that was small and didn't look all that physically strong, it definitely was sort of heavy to drag. It hadn't exactly helped that guy that it had actually grabbed onto the door too in order to resist being pulled into the place.

The man grimaced and forced the beast through the door. "Get in here you damn monster!" he yelled as he pulled it. The two men made their wat inside. People stopped and looked at the beast, most calling it scary and some even calling it disgusting. The men didn't listen to what people were saying as they led it to a certain room...

Well, the monster certainly didn't appreciate those comments. Ironically enough, it actually was understanding what they were saying, but it couldn't say a word in return, it didn't even know how to talk. This was hardly fair at all.

Once pulled inside of the building, it's ears perked back up and it's eyes wandered around to examine it's surroundings. As expected, there were brick walls and wooden furniture around along with some luxurious looking things. It was so interested in all of those things that it actually started just standing there again before getting tugged on the rope again.
